We walked into a spacious, contemporary space with a large bar and plenty of seating, the kind of place that works equally well for watching a game with friends or a relaxed dinner. The interior had a comfortable, polished energy that struck a balance between lively and approachable, and the extensive beer and whiskey selection added to the inviting atmosphere. The menu goes beyond typical bar food with a mix of elevated comfort dishes, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and seasonal entrées. We ordered a few items and found the Chilean sea bass standing out, paired with a flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. The lamb with gnocchi was another popular choice, offering a hearty and well-balanced dish with tender meat and pillowy gnocchi that absorbed the rich sauce. The burgers were cooked to order and made a reliable option for something more casual, arriving juicy and well assembled. For drinks and appetizers, the calamari, burrata, and flatbreads were good options to share, each coming out fresh and well seasoned. The bar program was another highlight, with a wide selection of craft beers, whiskey, and classic cocktails that were well prepared and paired naturally with the food. Service was friendly and welcoming, with staff happy to make recommendations and accommodate different group sizes. While some visits could experience slower service during busy periods, the overall experience tended to be attentive, and the team worked to create a comfortable atmosphere for both families and larger groups. The pacing of the meal stayed steady, and the food came out without much delay. Parking is available in a small lot, though it could fill up during peak dining hours, and the restaurant's location near shopping on Needham Street made it a convenient stop before or after running errands. Overall, District 118 Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated pub fare in a relaxed setting. The combination of quality food, a strong drink selection, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it equally enjoyable for a casual lunch, dinner with family, or an evening out with friends.

They have the option of take out too! We got a couple appetizers to try & each got a different ramen. Here's what we ordered: APPETIZERS - chicken karaage - okonomiyaki-styled tater tots - green papaya salad RAMEN - miso ramen - spicy miso ramen - chef's ultra ramen - spicy tan tan ramen Thoughts: I thought the appetizer portions were pretty generous! A lot more than we were all expecting. I was pretty much already full before the ramens came out. Wasn't a big fan of the green papaya salad. It was missing some flavor. We all thought that it would be better if it had some tomatoes & garlic. Didn't seem like they used a mortar to ground the aromatics or anything, since the sauce just tasted like fish sauce and lime. The chicken karaage was okay. Wish there was more sauce to dip the chicken with. Chicken was also on the drier side. The tater tots were the best appetizer of the three we ordered, IMO. If you like takoyaki balls, you'll like this because it has similar sauces + bonito flakes. Ours needed some salt though. As for the ramens, I personally had the spicy miso ramen. It was missing a lot of depth in the broth that I would've liked to see (& taste). I didn't taste any miso to be honest. Salt was needed too. The highlights for the ramen were the chashu & corn. I loved that they used fresh corn! The chashu had the perfect amount of fattiness & almost melted in my mouth. The noodles were nice and chewy. The broth was just disappointing though. For the other ramens, everyone enjoyed the one they ordered. I tried a little of the chef's ultra ramen & the broth was much better than my spicy miso. Btw, the spicy miso ramen is not spicy at all for anyone who is hesitant & cannot do overly spicy foods. The food was a bit disappointing for me. I came in with high expectations with all the good reviews I read beforehand. Not terrible but not great.

I arrived at Hotel Indigo in Auburndale at 5:45 as the Event started at 6 pm. I was pleasantly surprised that the competition was held poolside. Had I known, I would have opted to dress for a quick dip. That put aside, it was perfect weather for an outdoor cook off. The sun was shining, the water in the pool was sparkling, the crowd was bustling, the fight staff were setting up a huge table of food items for the Chefs to grab and best of all the bar was open as in Free Open Bar :) The Chefs must have had a plan, as the whistle blew to start the competition, the Chefs run from the starting line to the table piled high with vegetables, spices, garnishes and more. When the last Chef picked the remaining few items from the table, all that was left were a few broken eggs. Once the Chefs brought their aprons full of supplies back to their cooking area, grills were already hot, the Chefs were called poolside to a table covered in different kinds of mushrooms. I guess they had a drawing as they were called to the table one at a time to choose the box of their favorite Shrooms. When the last box of mushrooms were chosen the Chefs were all back at their makeshift kitchens cutting, chopping and slicing away as fast and as carefully as possible. This allowed all the guests time to walk around and enjoy the free cocktails and mingle while watching these amazing Chefs prepare their magic. The Judges were comprised of some Executive Chefs, TV Personality and a Comic. They were all extremely professional and were available to talk, ask questions and for some even photo opts. Once all the STEAK was cooked and plated the competition was on. The Judges tasted each contestants meat with sides as the entire audience looked on and drooled. Appetizers from the hotel were being distributed in large quantities to hold us over until it was our turn to judge. When the Judges were done it was now everyone else's turn to try all the fabulous BBQ STEAK. I felt as though I was on TV. As the crowd hustled to their favorite Chefs table to nibble on the finished product, my daughter and I decided to start with Chef number one and work our way quickly and quietly around to assure a taste of all the STEAK. To conclude a great event, every one gathered around to hear the names of the winner and runner ups, and scurried around to try seconds and thirds of the Chefs final product. If you ever have an opportunity to attend a Culinary Fight Club Event or any Cook Off for that matter, I highly suggest you go. You will have a great time. I give Culinary Fight Club Boston a Solid 5 Stars.

All the food came out extremely fast and all the staff were extremely friendly! They even offered to pack the leftovers for me and my boyfriend. Some commentary on the food was it was REALLY YUMMY, I recommend putting some extra chili powder on the skewers for extra flavors. Also an note, if it doesn't say 3 or 10 skewers on the side, it only comes with one; I do wish they had an offer for 3 mini sausages. Overall the meal was $95 (before tip, with tax)

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the food given that I enjoy meat but am not usually the type to go all out on meat at barbecue restaurants. Friendship BBQ has a wide array of meats available and in my experience, the service has always been prompt. I really like that they place your skewers on the warming tray to keep your food hot and tasting fresh even if you get to it later on in your meal. There's also a skewer bin so that you can keep the table clear and tidy. My personal favorites are the pork belly with enoki mushrooms, chicken heart, and pork intestine, although you really can't go wrong with any of the skewers (at least that I've tried). The meat with the sauteed bean sprouts (pea pods), grilled green beans, and egg fried rice are my go-to side dishes although I'd love to try out more. There's also bubble tea, soju, and beer so it's a great place to stop by and eat with friends and there's something for everyone. Overall, I've been thoroughly impressed by the food at Friendship BBQ. I really like that they have a variety of food and authentic meats for more adventurous eaters. I will definitely be back again soon!

The fried pickles didn't fill up the container or come close. That picture I took was right after opening, without eating any. Maybe I ordered a small and didn't know it. At least the ranch dipping sauce was good. I won't even take off points for the soggy food, because delivering fried foods is hard. I understand that. I ate the pickles and they were the best part of the meal, wish I had more. Mac and cheese left alot to be desired. Overcooked noodles. A sprinkle of bread crumbs. There was no flare here. This dish was basic and I don't think I'd order again. Finally, the chicken sandwich. I expected a nice hearty chicken breast, the kind you get at Tender Greens. Crunchy and delicious. This was a sad, fast food type sandwich, with a slice of cheddar, I think, and no real flavor to it. It was decent for fast food, but not what I think of when I see Guy's name on the menu. If you buy this, get the ranch from the fried pickles to dip it in. I wanted to love this place and was so excited to try it. The food was just ok. I'm sorry Guy. I'm a big fan of the TV show. I was considering trying a burger, thinking maybe their chicken game isn't as strong, but now I'm not so sure.
