My most recent experience there was for the latter, where there was a small private room downstairs with a curtain and table that fit around 7-8 people. Other similar private rooms were in the vicinity. I had never even known about it. The ratatouille was pretty good as the only vegetarian item. We also really enjoyed the butternut squash soup. But definitely pig out on meat if that's what you're feeling since there are plenty of options along those lines. And don't skip dessert. They have a solid set of considerations to satisfy any sweet tooth. read more

I came here for lunch with one of my girlfriends for the first time last week, and we both ordered salads. I got the Chopped Salad, which came with romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, olives, artichoke hearts, calabrese salami, applewood smoked bacon, cucumber, asiago cheese, and Italian vinaigrette for $16. I left out the bacon and cucumbers since I don't like cucumbers and bacon overwhelms salads. Since the salad didn't come with protein, I decided to add salmon. The salmon was cooked well, but for the price I paid, it just wasn't worth it. My salad ended up costing $40 altogether. I mean... $24 for a piece of salmon? Come on! That being said, the restaurant was nicely decorated, and we were seated near the fireplace in a quiet spot, just the two of us, which made it feel cozy and relaxing. Next time I will definitely ask the prices of protein before I decide on what to eat. read more

I had made a reservations at the resturant it was for 6:00pm for a Birthday Dinner we arrived and drove in to the parking lot when we got out of the car there was a person who was the valet getting out of another car who came up to us and said this is Valet only now there was only two cars on the whole parking area when I told him I did not like Valet parking he told me I could take my car and park in the parking gararge then walk down the alley now we are a car full of 70 + years of age and he told us to walk down a dark alley. I drove to the front of the resturant and went in and cancled the resevations because of the way he had acted. The manager followed me out to my car and offer a round of dranks if we come back which was nice of him I cannot drank and was driving at night but the damage had been done by the Valet and we went to another resturant and had a wonderful time. It's hard to imagine a place like Blue Ridge Grill opening in Atlanta today. It's even a bit tough to imagine a place like this still existing in the middle of Buckhead. After all, so many of the older establishments have closed, with Buckhead diner shuttering doors just a few years ago. At a glance, there is nothing about Blue Ridge Grill that seems to belong in today's Atlanta filled with omakase sushi menus and "pop up" restaurants, yet is uniquely beautiful. The red leather cushions, the reclaimed wood from a cotton mill, the sharply dressed staff and of course, the stately dressed rabbit painting above the fireplace. It is all there. Blue Ridge Grill has a mountain lodge atmosphere and an interior that is cozy, inviting and elegant. It protrudes class throughout, but also is a trip back to 1995 when Blue Ridge Grilled opened. In some ways, the patrons are also on a bit of a journey through decades here as the average age of the guests appeared to be in their 60s. When it comes to the menu, it is all the classics. While trout is supposedly the most famous dish here, the filet mignon and the pork chop are great as well. The pork chop was not the best quality of pork by today's standards of regeneratively raised and organic animals, but prepared well, just a bit flavorless aside from the sauce and seasoning. Also the cut was a bit tough on the edges due to what seemed to be a muscle or tendon layer. The filet mignon is good. Okra was perfectly cooked avoiding the healthy slime. Now, we arrive at the list of beverages. Good wine list with specials. There are a few big name scotches, although nothing notable or unique to highlight smaller distilleries. The biggest brand names are overpriced heavily, with Macallan 12 running over $40 for a pour. The American whiskey list is much better and more reasonably priced relative to retail. Tequila list needs to be re-written from scratch to remove depressing samples like Casamigos and Herradura to add at least something good aside from Clase Azul. The team here is welcoming and kind. The waiter, Sergi, was phenomenal and very attentive. As a whole, there is no denying that Blue Ridge Grill is a special place. While there are some efforts to be done to improve ingredient sourcing, quality and expand work with local farms and pastures (ex. Local White Oak Pastures could be a good start), it's a wonderful establishment that Atlanta needs to preserve its character. Let's cherish and retain these local landmarks. read more

First dinner at Blue Ridge Grill, and the overall impression is it's just OK. Very old school ambience and approach to dining with a large attentive staff servicing a relatively large room of customers. Food, including wedge and chopped salads, and short rib and redfish mains, were all good but not great. Pecan pie was very good. A return visit is uncertain. read more

Had dinner at Blue Ridge Grill while I was in Atlanta and it ended up being a really solid choice. The menu had a great mix of options including steaks, seafood, salads, and a few Southern-inspired sides, so it wasn't hard to find something for everyone. We started with the crab cake and mussels. The crab cake had a good amount of actual crab meat without too much filler, and the mussels came in a flavorful broth that we used the bread to soak up. I also ordered a peach and blue cheese salad with pecans, which was surprisingly refreshing and a nice balance to everything else. For entrées, we got the filet and the ribeye. Both were cooked just the way we asked, tender and juicy with a good sear. The loaded baked potato was massive and definitely could be shared. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Service was polite and efficient, no complaints there. I didn't get a chance to try dessert but I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try a few more things off the menu. Blue Ridge Grill is quickly becoming my go-to restaurant for everything from business lunches to family dinners. For me, it hits on almost every major point that I evaluate. The team, from the host team to the servers & bartenders, is truly professional, the atmosphere is elegant without being over the top and offers a reasonable variety of seating options, and the food is consistent and excellent. From the menu favorites to the daily specials, I have never had a meal I didn't enjoy. The devils on horseback (bacon wrapped dates) are a must try! They offer lots of great appetizers, and I love the beet and Caesar salads. The fish is always wonderfully prepared and the new Redfish dish with saffron was outstanding. Even their steak offerings are worth trying. I can't recommend this place enough, but please don't make it hard for me to get a table! read more

Boss took me here for my retirement dinner, wives were also in attendance. My review may be slightly biased as I didn't pay for anything. Started with the octopus which was lightly charred to perfection. Also had the mushroom risotto. We were not expecting little risotto balls, but they were very tasty. I had the grilled salmon. Cooked to perfection on a bed of what I think was cabbage? Not sure, but it was a great pairing and tasted awesome. Sides included the corn souffle, spinach and mashed potatoes. Blue Ridge Grill is one of the great restaurants in Atlanta; it's a true institution. I've been here many times over the past 20 years and the service and food are consistently top notch. As the mountain-inspired name implies, the decor immediately makes you feel like you've stepped into an upscale lodge in Aspen, Jackson Hole or other ritzy alpine enclave. There is a large, inviting bar and ample dining space with numerous tables and cozy booths. The large fireplace in the dining room definitely provides a "great hall" feel to the main area. The menu is a diverse selection of hearty choices with an array of beef, chicken, pork and seafood...all of high quality. On my last visit I branched out and tried the scallops, which were very good and my wife loved her lemon chicken. The side dishes are larger portions and my personal must-have is the corn soufflé; it's a little on the sweeter side so can easily double as dessert. The mashed potatoes are a close second, being so fresh and creamy. Blue Ridge is definitely on the expensive side of dining options, but with the atmosphere, service, and wonderful meals you won't have any regrets. read more

We were celebrating our friend's 63rd birthday at BRG. It is an outstanding venue to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion because they not only make up a personalized menu with your name on it but also add some Hershey kisses to the table along with tiny glitter pieces and colorful ribbons. Our server, Taina, was one of the best we have had during several visits. She was not phased by the four of us perusing the menu, trying to make up our minds on what to order for over a half hour. She carefully managed her other tables while checking back with us periodically. After we finally ordered, our courses came to us with no waiting as she gauged our meal timing perfectly. I have to commend her observation skills as we were never left waiting for a course and she removed our empty dishes promptly, which made for a very enjoyable dinner. The menu items we ordered consisted of Sea Bass Cerviche, Crab Cake, Mushroom Arancini, Blue Ridge Grill Salad, Grilled Georgia Trout, and Pan Seared Bronzino . . .all of which were delicious. And, as always, they start you off with a warm round loaf of sourdough bread, which is super crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. We were so impressed with Tainia's first class service we asked to see the manager, Jesse Otero, who promptly came to our booth. After sharing with him how impressed we were with Taina and how she added to the enjoyment of our dinner experience, we also raved about the champagne salad dressing that came with their signature Blue Ridge Salad. He asked if we wanted to have the recipe and returned with it along with some samples of the dressing to take home with us. Given how expensive this place is, it's amazing they have someone like that handling the booking, but the owner of this place is notorious for handling things in a strange (read: cheap) way (at other properties they own, anyway) so this does not come as a surprise. This owner stopped serving coke at all of their restaurants because Coke raised their fountain fees. And they still charge $4 for off brand soda. But I digress. 3.5 stars The rustic and elegant Blue Ridge Grill provided a delightful backdrop for our family dinner. From the valet parking to the refined dress code, the restaurant definitely provided an air of sophistication. We were comfortably seated at a large, round table with service from a very friendly waitress. We received a basket with a fluffy loaf of bread for us to enjoy while we waited for the rest of our elaborate meal, which started with a few appetizers for the table. First, the Tuna Tartare was served over a mound of diced avocado and seasoned with ponzu sauce, cilantro, green onion, and toasted sesame seeds. I find that tartare could be very hit-or-miss, and I did not find that particular one to be that great of a rendition. The fish was a rather strong-tasting. Secondly, the Veal Meatballs had a nice texture, but I did not love that they were served in a thin, oily veal stock. Even the included field mushrooms and parmesan did not win me over. After collaborating on the starters, we each ordered our own entrees and shared a side of Collard Greens. I selected the Poached Halibut as my main course. While I usually like this type of fish, the poaching of it did not appeal to me. The filet remained soft and tender, but it was rather bland, despite being served with wilted kale, morel mushrooms, parsnip puree, and a red wine jus. One of the other members of my party also ordered this dish and felt the same. The collard greens, however, were infused with chunks of bacon, which left the accoutrement smoky and delicious. After the centerpiece of the meal, we had some extra room in our bellies and decided to indulge by sharing the Local, Seasonal Mixed Berry Cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The frozen topping was just basic, but the skillet pie was heavenly! The fruit filling tasted very natural and had a hint of cinnamon. We got a special birthday set up with special menus and decor. I tried the Crab Cakes. Omg, it was so buttery and delightful. Kind of pricey though for such a small cake. Best thing I ate was the Corn Souffle, do yourself a favor and order this. It was warm and rich and every bite was amazing. Worth every penny. Holy hell. Sorry. Shouldn't cuss but I literally just had one of the best meals I've had in Atlanta since I moved here 10 years ago. For real. Bijoy did an amazing job!! The food? Holy hell. Sorry again but it was Dee-lish! Complimentary hot, perfectly baked, sourdough bread & butter for the table. Next a crab cake appetizer arrived & was the best I've ever had. Not bready at all. Tender moist crabby yumminess! Hubs got a wedge salad which was tasty. Main course was GA trout & the short ribs with corn soufflé & collard greens for sides. Just stop here. It was slap yo momma good. Yeah. I said it. Slap your momma good. Came on a Thursday for lunch for our Anniversary. Made reservations on open table week before and only one time slot available for 2. We have been wanting to come here for many years and when deciding where to go for an anniversary lunch thought it was time to try. We are so glad we did very nice cozy lodge feel. We celebrated my Mother In Law's 84th Birthday at Blueridge Grill upon her request and for me and my Husband it was an unexpected surprise. Three generations were represented and we all throughly enjoyed the food, the service and the ambience. Our server was Audra. She was pleasant and very attentive. The special attention that was shown for our celebration was evident immediately on our arrival and continued until our exit from several members of the staff. They went above and beyond what was expected. We will most certainly return. The lobster BLT, the Wagu Burger and the Mussels were absolute stand outs but all of the food was good. We selected this venue for our anniversary dinner this year. I try to find appropriate fine-dining places that we haven't tried before (usually due to being located a bit out of our way and that it might be out of our regular dining-out price range). I'd heard of this place for a long time, but didn't even know where it was located until I looked it up. It is a stand-alone building in a plaza just off I-75 (several miles inside the perimeter). Parking is via valet. I am not sure whether there was an option to self-park conveniently? You could park in the lot for the plaza where the restaurant is located, I guess, but you'd then have to walk around the other shops to get back. The rear of the restaurant faces the rear of the other plaza shops; it is an unusual configuration. We were greeted and seated promptly. As with some other restaurants in this tier, they have the wait staff collectively assist you, maybe with one person as a 'lead'. Also, if you tell them (when making the reservation, which you'll need to do) that it's your anniversary, they take it to heart. We were wished a happy anniversary multiple times, there was a bit of related confetti sprinkled on the table when we arrived, etc. The atmosphere is like a lodge hotel, but a bit more light and airy due to the abundance of windows. My impression of the majority of the clientele was upper-class Buckhead residents, many of whom seemed like regular visitors here. There was also some tables like us who seemed like they were here for a special occasion. The menu selections were varied, and it was easy for both of us to find something we liked. My steak was well prepared. My wife liked her dish as well. The sides were large, and we ended up taking some portion home. The dessert was also good. Pricing here is, as expected, high. Well, I don't know how this place has escaped my notice. Tucked away underneath Whole Foods market in midtown Atl. We made our reservation online but arrived way earlier but got great valet service, and the hostess sat us in a delightful wait room where we ordered pre dinner apéritif. They were quick to set up a table for us since it was for a small birthday celebration. Divine!!. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable and helped us navigate through the menu effortlessly. What's good? Well the bread ...I can die happy now. Seriously, for a bread aficionado, this is the good stuff! We duped it in the mussels soup and the meatball sauce. I could have gone home happy with those. But.. wait! There's more! Yes we pigged out! We had the grilled Farm raised Trout, with Brussel Sprouts and Mash.
