I am so glad that I've discovered Blue Ridge honey and so sad that I didn't find it years ago. Their honey is the best. Too many honeys are just sweet (and unbearably so) with no flavor. That's not BR honey. You can taste the flower in them. My favorite is the Orange Blossom. It is the sweet encapsulation of the fragrance of orange blossoms with a nice pollen-y taste. This honey is incredible and the company is amazing! I picked some of this up when I saw that it was raw and from local flowers. With honey, local is incredibly important because of the effects it has on helping the body deal with allergies associated with the pollen of local flowers. It is also incredibly cool that one of the sources of their pollen is from Avocado. Additionally, I had the pleasure of talking with Dave Mitchell at a wedding last fall and he knows a ton of really interesting things about bees and beekeeping. This local honey was the wedding favor at my sister's wedding in Santa Paula and it's by far one of the best tasting honeys I've ever had. I recommend it in tea, on peanut butter toast, and drizzled over Brie cheese as a dish to bring to friends' houses. Every time I brought this honey to friends' houses it was a hit!
