I so want to like Blue Sky, because it does enjoy a certain following. In fact, I've given it three chances, desperately hoping it would be better the next time. Sadly, it was not. The burgers are greasy, greasy, greasy (which is different than wonderfully juicy) and even the burger buns are greasy and soggy. Ugh!! I love onion rings, so tried them on two separate occasions. I can't say enough about the green chili cheese burger. I love the toasted bun and flavorful toppings. I'm glad they let you put the green chili on by yourself since it's kind of watery. I enjoy eating here. The burgers have good flavor and are pretty big. I'm not crazy about the fries, but they are good. My husband loves them. My daughter ate their chicken strips and said they were good. They also have milk shakes and ice cream which is a good thing in a burger place. I like that the place is spacious. The only complaint I have is with the cashiers- it seems they would just rather not be there taking your order. Definitely not helpful when you ask a question about the menu. read more

This place was NOT worth the detour off I-40. I ordered a chili cheeseburger with NO mustard and onion rings. These are advertised as fresh-cut, but NOT cooked to order. Blue Sky is our go to when heading out of Texas. You can call and order in advance, and they do a fine job with their burgers and fries. The beef is cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are large. This was one of the worst places I have ever eaten!! My child ordered a kids hot dog and when we got the hot dog they had cut it in half length wise. Almost 5 dollars for half of a hot dog?! The French fries were so salty they were inedible. The onion rings were technically rings but we're so anorexic looking and so heavily battered that you could barely taste the onion. We ate here last Monday as we traveled across country, we chose the Blue Sky because of positive yelp reviews. It was so sad. You could tell that the food was based on a great concept and great recipes, but it was cold, like really cold. It looked like food photography but tasted like it had been on the counter for a long time. Which was wierd, the restaurant was not busy and it did take longer than it should for our number to come up but even then the food should have not been that cold/old tasting. I don't write bad reviews lightly but we discussed it and we made our decision where to eat solely on the yelp reviews. We feel that it only fair that others be warned of our bad experience. P.S. Nobody asked us even the perfunctory questions if our food was good, etc. We saw no one working the floor and we only saw teenagers running the counter and kitchen. read more

Everyone raves about Coyote Bluff, but I think Blue Sky is definitely better. I always get the cheeseburger, and the cheese is so perfectly melted on the burger that the whole burger just literally melts in my mouth. For the parents, there is a sandbox in the back for your kids to play in. As a little extra, there is one of those cool automatic handwashing machines that you have to try out. read more
