We just had a spectacular breakfast. We are here to see a show at Red Rocks. We're staying at the Red Rocks Courtyard. It's a $10 Uber trip to here. I had the smothered burrito. OMG. While it had a cacophony of flavor, it didn't overwhelm the fluffy eggs. My lovely had the sweet potato Belgian waffle. Wow! She had bacon. Mine came with fried taters (home fries). We were in town for a wedding and decided to go to Blue Sky Cafe for breakfast because it wasn't far from our hotel. It's in a strip mall, so it doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you get inside, you feel transported to a nice, cozy cafe atmosphere. In the main room, the recessed ceiling is painted as a Robin's egg blue sky with fluffy white clouds. We had a larger party, so we were seated near the front window, which was also nice to get the direct sunlight. I ordered the Fiery Carnitas Skillet. Pulled pork with cheese, fried jalapenos, and chili verde on top of potatoes? Yes, please. It tasted as good as it sounded to this lover of spicy food. I think only the jalapenos made it spicy, though, so non-spicy food lovers could also order it without the peppers. Service was fantastic. This is a good quick spot for breakfast or lunch in the Lakewood area. The food is all pretty good, at least from what I have had. The juices are great I think and the service is always pretty quick but nothing special. One thing I will say is that it is quite pricey for a simple diner-feel restaurant. The last time I went I got a sandwich and fries and my colleague got a salad with chicken, and we both got simple drinks - the bill was upwards of $50 before tip! Red Rocks Magic! We came into town from Florida based on the reviews on Yelp. I loved the pictures and the feedback from everyone that had come here. Staff was great, food was great, the service was fast although they quoted us a 10 minute wait they sat us within one minute. Came here with my family for brunch while in Denver for a wedding. We loved the chill ambiance and the quaint decor. We were sat immediately for a table of 6 and instantly greeted by our friendly waitress. The table was clean but they have an odd protocol to leave the clean water glasses upside on the table, which is kind of off putting for germophobes like us. So we had to clean them before using em. Water pitchers are provided at the table. We ordered an OJ and snickerdoodle espresso. The espresso was piping hot and really good, not overly sweet. I ordered the farmhand skillet bc my brother ordered the country skillet. We both ordered scrambled eggs on top. Both skillets had plenty of protein content and we were stuffed afterwards. The croissant sandwich remained crispy and flaky throughout the meal. The pesto chicken flatbread was good but the chicken was slightly overcooked/dry which made the pesto sauce necessary. The English muffins and jam that came with a lot of entrees were good, and you can ask for butter to go along with it. All in all quick and warm service with good quality food!! read more

We've been going there for over 3 years and always had great experience. We always request to be in Erin'S section as she knows my partner for many years. We get the blue sky special (with French toast or pecan pancakes) but I tried the skillet or burrito too and they were all good. Also the snickerdoodle latte is my favourite. Decided to check this place out as we were in Golden for a weekend and it was one of the few breakfast places that could handle a big party. First impression was the drinking cups were put rim faced down on the table which seemed a little unsanitary and there were also quite a few flies flying around. Food was great though. Got a snickerdoodle latte that came out in a glass cup so I thought it would be cold but it was actually a hot latte and it was delicious. The Denver West omelette was your typical omelette but done well with just the right ratio of egg and fillings. Omg! In town for a day trip and will come back! Service was awesome and food was right up there...friend got the impossible burger who is a picky eater...ate it all up with their seasoned waffle fries. I have been coming to Blue Sky since I was a child and have had nothing but good experiences and think of fond memories when I see its name. It's a treat to stop in now that I've grown up, and I feel grateful it's still going strong. Blue Sky is one of many options for food in the Denver West area, but one of only a couple that are near my work that have breakfast and brunch-type foods. The restaurant shares its parking with a fair number of other businesses, so finding a spot super close can be a little tough depending on the time you stop in. There are large lots with plenty of parking in the immediate vicinity, but you'd have to walk a bit further if that's something you might be concerned with. There is a small patio out front that is usually always pretty full when the weather is nice and a coffee and juice bar right near where the hosts greet you when you first walk in. I've never had an issue getting a table right away, as lately it's just been me treating myself to breakfast on slow workday mornings, but be aware that the busy times/days of the week would likely mean you'd have a bit of a wait. The menu has all of the breakfast basics and more, and it has been my experience that the kitchen is super accommodating if you request any add ons or substitutions; whether due to allergies or simply because you're feeling like having extra crispy bacon on the side lol. The food always comes out steaming hot, and it seems like they whip up the plates super fast, because I've never waited more than a handful of minutes before my breakfast is in front of me. The food is consistently good, too, which is awesome. I haven't ventured too deep into the gourmet coffee drinks and fresh juices they have to offer, but blenders are always going off in the background, and anytime I see someone getting a glass of juice that came from the front, it always looks bomb... I'm actually surprised at myself for not being all about it considering how long I've been coming here... I'll have to change that. Anyway, the dining room is pretty clean and tables are bussed super quickly, despite the number of people that are there to eat on any given day. The staff has always been lovely, and the price point is pretty reasonable - about $15 for an omelette plate and $12 for the two egg/tater/bacon plate that I have in my list of photos. It's a great little place with an inviting atmosphere and I know I'll be back... and back and back again lol. read more

The food was indescribably good, but I'll try to describe it! The California Benedict was sex on a plate. The hollandaise was perfect and they generously dumped the thick nectar all over my perfectly poached eggs which oozed like a geyser. The best part was the croissant which tenderly held my precious eggs-such a nice, buttery, flaky touch. The dish was a perfect medley of savory and crisp with the fresh tomatoes and it had to be one of the best eggs Benedict's I've ever had....and I've had a lot. The scalloped potatoes were tender and warm with a salty finish. The dirty chai latte accompanied the tantalizing breakfast well and I ate like someone who's been on tube feed for a month finally having their first taste of solid food. This place will have that effect on you, don't be afraid. I don't know how they do it. I could have been eating in a run down hole in the wall and it still would have been euphoric, but they had ambiance too. A beautiful patio and nice tables inside. We were somewhat surprised to see the dining room nearly filled with people and the outdoor dining area was full. Glad to see this business thriving.
