After detecting an issue with my HVAC and waiting on a part that I was told was on backorder, they apparently stopped communicating with my warranty company. I feel that I was also misled because Hometown Heating and Air said that my claim was canceled by my warranty company and that it was my warranty company's responsibility to notify me. My warranty company confirmed that the claim was never canceled. My customer dashboard when I logged into my account also still showed the claim as active. When I called Hometown Heating and Air to ask if they could pick-up the newer pending claim from my warranty company, I was told that they are very busy and that the earliest they could come back out to my condo would be in two weeks. I was more than okay with waiting because again, they were so wonderful to work with up to that point. After promising to call me back to schedule that follow-up, they have since went completely silent. I truly wish Hometown Heating and Air had just been honest about not wanting to finish the repair so I could have moved on to another company sooner. Living in Florida, if this HVAC issue had happened during the peak summer months, this lack of transparency would have been a truly miserable situation for me. Ghosting a customer who is loyal to a brand is not only unprofessional but saddening.

I wanted to get my garage ceiling insulated and the rest of the attic to R38. I requested quotes from other vendors and read reviews on each of the vendors whom quoted. I choose TLS because the tech quoting the job and the customer service person assigned to us, where friendly, knowledgeable, and great with any follow up questions. Scheduling was very easy, 1-2 weeks out, and when they had an earlier opening they called and texted to check if I wanted to stay with the original date or was interested in moving to the earlier date. Install team were great, 2 knowledgeable installers. They took before and after pictures and showed me where there were low points in my current insulation. They spent about almost 2 hours installing blown insulation and cleaning up afterwards. Proving pictures with the invoice and offered multiple paying options: Check, Venmo, and Credit Card. Absolutely no up-charge or fees when used the credit card option. I super pleased to have done my research which allowed me to select this company. What a great experience!

My good experience with Blue Solar started with their salesman, Rick. When he called to set the appointment, I told him I was a mechanical engineer who wanted see the technical side of the process in addition to the financial. He was prepared with internet links to all the components. Using previous Duke electrical bills, we determined that my system should be approximately 8KW in size. Then we discussed how the installation would occur on my roof. My home has a pitched roof and a flat roof over the back half. In our meeting, we decided that half of the panels would go on the pier strong and the remaining panels on the flat roof. We then discussed the financial part of the transaction which included two loans. One alone was based on the 30% federal energy credit that one receives for going solar. That is an interest free loan that is anticipated to be paid back by the portion of the purchase price that is under the federal tax credit. The other loan is a 144 month loan that can be paid off early with no penalty. The assumption is the savings you might have on your electric bill can help pay for this second loan. After signing up for a solar installation, I received a call from their project manager telling me that they studied my building arrangement and determined that all of my panels should be on the flat roof. I agreed that it made more sense to have the flat roof contain all the panels because it will see the sun more intensely. Because of the configuration change, Blue Solar had to use a different mounting system for attaching the system to the flat roof rather than on the shingles. We waited about a week for the new hardware and Blue Solar kept me updated with progress reports. Actual installation took 2 days. Duke installed the two-way meter on 03/30/2017 and we went operational right away. I can monitor system performance using a link to SolarEdge on my desktop and with an iOS app. I am very satisfied with Blue Solar installation and the support provided by their staff. I am eagerly awaiting my first full month Duke bill to see where I stand. The less money I give Duke the better I will feel. read more

I talked to both owners, Christina and Jared, because they both came to my house at different times during the installation, and I'm an inquisitive and demanding customer (Warren Buffet was my neighbor back in Omaha) ... you make me happy, you're the best at what you do! I even offered to buy a percentage of the company, but they turned me down saying, "This is our life's work. We love what we do." They killed the competition. SunPro/ADT ($45k) was almost 50% higher than the price of Bay Area Solar ($31,776). A third less memorable competitor was 20% more and far less professional and friendly. Installation was fast and professional. I've been researching solar panels for 30 years so I knew what I was getting, and I got the best bang for the buck. No money down, $8261 Federal Tax Credit, $160 a month for 20 years, written guarantee that all my panels will produce 95% of what they produce the first day of installation, or Bay Area Solar will replace them for free. My bill with Duke has consistently been the minimum $35.96, with a few winter months around $60 due to more cloudy days and angle of the sun. My neighborhood was built in 1978, and my neighbors consistently pay $300, $400, and sometimes $500 a month. Other than buying my Toyota Prius, I've never been more happy with a product in my life.Other than buying my Toyota Prius, I've never been more happy with a product in my life. I have been researching solar companies for the last 2 years. I decided on Solar Max because they…read morewould work with my reverse mortgage. It turned out they are a great SALES company with no integrity. The initial installation went smoothly but things started to pop up after the installation. First, they were supposed to install an extension so I could run a generator should the Duke System go down. After the installation, they told me that my breaker box was maxed out and would cost me an extra $2,100 to replace it. It would have been nice to know when their Solar Max electrician came to inspect my home BEFORE they did the installation. The second thing is the most egregious, The salesman said I would receive a 30% tax break when I filed my taxes. I told him that I was retired with a fixed income. He promised my payments would not exceed a certain amount as long as I gave the tax rebate back to the lender. However, he did not mention that as a retired person, with a fixed income and no W2, there would be no tax rebate. I did not find this out until I filed my taxes with my tax attorney. No W2, no rebate equals a Higher Monthly Electric Bill, an additional $100/month. I called and spoke with the Operations Manager twice. He promised they would get to the bottom of this and return my call. Two months later, and no callback. If I could rate it no stars, I would. I strongly suggest you find a reputable company. This company is not.

I came across some serious family issues and needed to cancel my plans of getting solar put on my house. It was also more than 10 days after when they said in the paper work they were going to have the construction done on my house. I hadn't had one thing done to my house by them at all. NOT ONE THING. They put a lien on my house and are insisting me to pay 5% of the contract amount. I asked them to take off my lien and they said no. I told them I would most likely be willing to take them to court and they said if I did that then they would change their request to the entire amount of the solar system. My solar was going to cost $50k so I now have to pay the 5% if I don't want to file a law suit on them which I will. That's $2500 for getting nothing from them. I've spoken to other solar companies and read through their paper work and not one other company I've seen holds their customers feet to the fire like this. I would never recommend doing business with AC/DC Solar LLC. If you have signed their paper work cancel it quick before the 3 days are up. Do not sign their paper work.
