Blue Surf Cafe, a farm to table restaurant, is one of my favorite places to eat in Wilmington. The food not only tastes amazing, but it is fresh and local to Wilmington. Brunch is my favorite time of the day to go because I love their waffles. During the colder months, they have the best gourmet hot chocolate. The Nutella flavor is by far the best. The presentation of the food adds to the overall experience and quality of the meal. Paying as soon as you order your meal makes for a convenient dining process as well. The owners of this cafe need to seriously re-evaluate their choices. The menu includes "Castro style" breakfast bowls. Fidel Castro was a communist dictator responsible for the systematic starvation or brutal execution of over 30,000 Cubans, and the suffering of countless more. I find this only incrementally less disgusting than if they had a "Hitler Burger" or a "Khmer Rouge Taco". I'd prefer to keep murderous dictators out of my otherwise decent breakfast bowl. I am absolutely obsessed with surf house! their breakfast is fantastic especially the waffles. Ive been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have yet to be disappointed. I love their decor and would have seriously purchased one of the paintings they had displayed if someone else hadnt have beaten me to it. I have been to Blue Surf Cafe a couple of times. The most recent time, I got a salad. Mango did not come on my salad, but my friend did not want his mango, so he put it on my salad. It tasted very fresh and was very good. Blue Surf Cafe has a very surfy vibe, and I like a good surfy vibe. Eat there for the first time the other day. Had heard good thing about the food. Was very sad when I got my order of fish tacos and they were less than exciting. I could look past that but the huge fish bone I found in the taco was a bit much. I will probably try them again when I get back to the area since people keep saying it's good. Had lunch at the Surf House recently and I can't wait to go back!! The food was incredible, people were friendly and restaurant has a really cool and comfortable feel. They were able to accommodate the dietary needs of everyone in the group (food allergies, etc.), which was really exciting for our varied crew. Both surfhouse locations have excellent food and a fun atmosphere. What I like about them is that they use local ingredients (the cakes they have for dessert are made locally too), everything is fresh, and options are healthy. They don't have a fryer. It was our first time here, and we had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful from start to end. We ordered two of their breakfast specialties, and both were excellent. Brunch Enjoyed a very good brunch. Liked that breakfast and lunchtimes are available in the morning. The gritsbowl was great and filling.
