We tried this place with a family of 6 for a weeknight dinner and this is by far the worst Thai…read morefood I've had in the New Haven county area. The spring rolls were an absolute joke and overpriced. They had a very weird funky taste from first bite to after taste. Portions were small overall and prices were high. Most of the dishes we had lacked flavor. Compared to all the other fantastic Thai restaurants around, I wouldn't come here again. Our particular server was not mean but she also was not nice. She had a very particular way of doing every bit and it was just an odd experience as a diner. Food overall: 4.5/10 Service: 4.5/10 I'm surprised this place has good reviews on google. Maybe we just went on a bad night but this is what we experienced so it is what it is.

The same as I had in Thailand. The fresh summer rolls were light and refreshing, with dipping sauce. You can also request with delicious peanut sauce. Server gave me to try. My sister ordered the shoyu ramen with shrimp tempura, which was delicious. Tempura was served separately so it was crispy. My mom also had Ladna seafood but shrimp only. It is really big portion. Overall, a solid spot if you're in the mood for Thai and Japanese noodles.

Staff were very pleasant but seemed too busy considering there were only 2 tables with people at them. The portion was a nice size but it was mostly things other than chicken. It tasted OK but not good. Nice smaller place, parking is decent.

Upon arrival the hostess was on the phone and just waived us off to seat ourselves. After her phone call she did come greet us and bring us menus. It was pretty empty during late lunch a little after 1:00 p.m. Decor and ambiance was as I mentioned earlier mom and pop shop feel. The menu consisted of Thai and Lao food we tried a few things but found the flavors lacking in a few areas. The pad seew was very close to being traditional Thai Pad seew, but traditionally there are never any carrots or cilantro added to the dish, the cilantro which I normally love cilantro was too floral and made the Pad Seew taste like soap. The Lard na was deemed "just okay" by my father in-law again the randomly added carrots. The sausage was over priced for literally 1 sausage cut into smaller pieces and lacked flavor and it was a bit gamey. The cucumbers slices served with all the meals were too mature to be served the way they were, just huge thick slices, if you're a gardener you'll understand. The papaya salad I don't recall anything good or bad about it. The squid salad was not what we expected but still good, again nothing that makes me say I need to try this again. Would we try it again "maybe."

If you're craving authentic, fresh, and delicious Thai food, this spot delivers in every way! The ingredients taste incredibly fresh, from the vibrant veggies to the aromatic herbs, making each dish a burst of flavor. The perfect balance of spices, sweetness, and tanginess shines in every bite. Their Thai iced boba tea is smooth and refreshing, the perfect complement to the meal. Service is warm and welcoming, adding to the authentic Thai experience. Highly recommended for Thai food lovers or anyone looking to try something amazing!

What was not good was the notable discrepancy in price on the website versus the actual prices. So, this review is a PSA because Thai Spice really needs to rectify this immediately and get all of its sites updated. At the time of our order two weeks ago (and at the time that I am writing this review), the website https://thaispiceauthentic.com/ and the PDF menu hyperlink on that website (and the Order Now hyperlinks on the site) all reflect outdated prices. If you access the business via the https://www.yumdthaicuisine.com/ site (immediately confusing because this does not appear to be the current restaurant name, and the sign outside the restaurant says Thai Spice) or if you Google the restaurant and access the Toast site to order, you will get the current, actual prices. But these are way too many variables for a customer to reasonably navigate or to know what is accurate. We ordered the following: - Thai Sampler - We expected to pay $14.96/99 (two prices, one on the PDF and one via the Order Now link); the actual current price is an astounding $22.50 ($15 was a good deal, we thought; $22.50 is not--not for what you get) - Chicken Pad Thai - We expected to pay $13.96/99; the actual price is $14.95 - Yellow Curry - $13.96/99; actual price, $14.95 - Sticky Rice - $3.00; actual price, $4.00 A difference of over $10. Not great.

I thought we were going to an abandoned dunkin doughnuts spot that they just kind of bought and took over. Walking into the restaurant you get the instant blow of PHO in your face. That' is NOT a bad thing at all! When you're pho broth game is that GOOD that is how it suppose to be! Whom ever made it. Hats off to ya! That was one of the best broth's I had in years on the east coast! NYC needs to up their game. They have high end, low end, or just average of viet food but in CT. I'm jelly cause this chef is 100% legit. Let's put it this way. That pho is so good. When you leave the place. It left a stank on my clothes! If you're a fan of pho. AGAIN. It's not a bad thing at all! That's when you know someone in the back perfected that recipe. I'm sorry I had to repeat it several times how good it was. Portions, cuts of meat, everything was on point. I would just come here for that alone if I ever drive back here. The spring rolls on the other hand was standard. Nothing too crazy, nothing special about it. I was hoping they use the clear raps and pan fried/deep fried it with that instead but we got to regular spring roll wraps which is fine. All in all, if you're ever in this area. HIGHLY recommend !
