    Large tasting room

Some of the most beautiful views we've seen at a Virginia winery. Blue Valley Vineyards is at the top of a little mountain so there are great views all around the tasting room. The tasting room is a bit sterile and not cozy at all (high ceilings, bland wall colors). The service wasn't particularly friendly and the wine was mediocre (I tried the viognier and the memories blend). The chairs were comfy and the band was fun if a bit off key.

I love this vineyard so much! Our sommelier was the sweetest, most friendly lady who told us fun stories about her life and the surrounding area. The grounds are well kept and incredibly beautiful and their wines taste really good. They also have canned wines you can buy. I don't care much for how the hall is decorated as it does t look or feel comfortable, I wish they would decorate it to match the aesthetic of everything else - maybe more sofas/lounge style furniture? Don't let that take away from the experience though. I think it would also make for a great event location. They have a huge collection of wines and I had so much fun trying something in every category. I can't recommend a specific wine but I can tell you that I didn't regret any of my choices and I've indicated which ones I tried in the menu photo. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

To start- what gorgeous views! An unobstructed view of the beauty of the Blue Valley mountains. Next- the wine, definitely the best wines I've tried in Virginia. Try the Petit Manseng & the owners reserve. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Our whole party had a great time, will definitely return soon!

It's the views for me! Absolutely beautiful!! My friend chose this winery and another close by for her birthday winery tour last weekend. There was a bad accident on 66 so we arrived much later than we wanted to but we still enjoyed our time. There was a car show here the same day which was cool but due to that, no tastings were available. We just had to order bottles. The rose and remembrance were among my faves! There was a suya food truck and it was really good. Overall, our group of 11 had a great time here and I'd recommend this winery!

Covid-19 Review: We arrived on Mother's Day around 5pm with a reservation and they close at 6pm but do not offer tastings past 5pm. The staff asked good questions to help us pick out a wine by going through the tasting notes. We settled on a bottle of rosé on sale for $20 that was dark pink and very fruit forward. I also liked that they gave us an ice bucket for the rosé. There was ample seating indoors and outdoors and the building is very modern. There are 360 degree views outside with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains.

I discovered this great winery by accident during a hot, sunny day, when another nearby winery had no AC. Blue Valley had a very open interior with plenty of seating and a splendid view of the valley below. As the sun was going down, we discovered some outdoor seating on the patio with an even better view. The wine I tried, by the bottle, was Cabernet Franc, which was very pleasant. There are many more to choose from, but I find that Cab Francs are usually my favorites. By the way, the staff was very helpful and friendly. On a warm summer afternoon, Blue Valley was not very crowded. I guess everyone was at the beach. I would give this winery a higher mark except for food. There isn't much on the menu.

Beautiful, inspiring place! Glad we stop by here from our cabin trip. Tito Yianni did a great job touring us! Great time!

I had a nice time at the winery. I got there a little on the early side so it was pretty quiet. It started to fill up later on. They didn't offer any tastings and you had to pay $30 per person which was put into a gift card and could be used throughout your visit or future visits. I thought it was a little pricey but we ended getting a bottle at the winery and thanks to a great deal of 3 bottles for $30 we got to take three home with us. The views and live music were nice as well. A little more subdued of a atmosphere but it was a Sunday afternoon in very hot temps so i took that into consideration. One of the staffers said they were turning people away the day before. They had some artisan moonshine chocolate which was lovely with the wine. And outside was a BBQ truck. Which smelled delicious. I didn't try because i had just had BBQ for breakfast. Would love to see what it's like on a busier day.

We visited the winery on Valentine's Day, which fell on a Saturday this year. We had made a…read morereservation in advance and arrived a bit early, but were seated right away. Tables are reserved for 2.5 hours, so I assume the party before us didn't use their full time. We ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine. The brie cake was delicious--even for someone who doesn't usually like goat cheese (it was layered in)--but unfortunately, no one in our group enjoyed the cheesecake. The winery is both dog- and kid-friendly. All the parents we encountered kept their children supervised, which is a winery rule and one I really appreciate now that we have kids ourselves. Most of the dogs were also very well behaved, though one was repeatedly growling at passing dogs, which was off-putting. While the winery can't control every patron, we choose to leave our dog at home when she's not in a social mood, and it would be nice if all dog owners did the same.

Not a single table was available. Instead, there were rows of empty tables with RESERVED signs on them, apparently reserved for ghosts, because no one sat at them for 2+ hours. Meanwhile, groups of people, including us, circled the patio like vultures waiting for a table to finally open. The oyster pop-up bar had a line wrapping around the patio like people were waiting for Taylor Swift concert tickets instead of shellfish. There are small campfire setups around the outside area. But in 69°F full sun with a gentle breeze, you'd think no one would use them. Wrong. The whole side patio and hill area turned into a smoky campsite, with diners getting smoked out and leaving. On top of that, we had to fend off a rotating cast of unattended children. Kids wandered around like they were in an unsupervised theme park. One repeatedly tried sticking their hands in our dog's face while she was calmly chewing on a bone outside like a civilized creature. We ended up disciplining other people's children just so our dog could exist without being harassed. Food (4/5): We ordered the Nduja Sausage and Ricotta Pizza ($26), a red sangria pitcher ($40), a red sangria glass ($12), and the s'mores cookie tray ($10 for 3 cookies). The pizza was delicious, but the crust was so thin and flimsy it needed structural reinforcement. I used part of the previous slice to smear the ricotta around to get a balanced bite each time. The sangria was great, but $40 for 4 1/3 full glasses of wine felt disappointing. It's sangria, not liquid gold. The cookies were good, but for $10, 3 cookies should at least come with hot cocoa. Service (4/5): The lines were out the door. That is not the staff's fault. This place is popular, and the food is great. While I waited the 15 minute line to order, I reviewed the menu, dodged tiny children, and stepped away from random dogs on leashes inside the establishment trying to jump on me. It felt like a low-stakes obstacle course. When I got to the counter, I placed my order quickly. The bartender whipped the screen around with such precision and stared me down during the tip prompt like I was making a morally questionable decision. I pressed "No Tip" (listen. I stood in a line, picked up my own order, and bussed my own table) and his face shifted from "happy to help you" to "you have personally wronged me and my ancestors" in seconds. After tapping through 5+ different prompts, he told me to set a timer on my phone for 10 to 15 minutes and go to a different building to pick up my pizza. Finding this second building required me to use my nose like a bloodhound, following the faint scent of pizza through crowds until I finally tracked it down.

The singer was an older gentleman with an amazing voice thick mustache resembling Sam Elliot's and plethora of string instruments. While sitting next to the fire pit, this sound mixed with the warm ambience is perfection. I opted for the sweets flight- one sweeter white, one rose, one sparkling cider and one sangria. Their homemade sangria tasted like raspberry lemonade. The flights come with tiny morsels of food pairings for each. The presentation is lovely and planned to perfection. They offer snacks and local favorites like apple cider donuts or farm fresh eggs from a neighboring farm. In other words, this isn't a group event at a big winery with lower priced non-estate wine options type of place. Lost Mountain Vineyards used to be called RdV. In June 2024, RDV was acquired by Eutopia Estates which is owned by the Bouygues family of France. For now they are Bordeaux-style blends focused on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. They have some white grape vines but they are not ready to produce wine yet. They tasting experience/tour lasts about 1.5 hours. You tour the front of the vineyard, the barrel cave and bottling facilities. Then you taste their three top red blends paired with ham, cheese, peanuts and biscuits. All the food comes from Virginia farms and producers. Both the wine and the food are excellent. As was the service for the tour. Details on the wines here https://lostmountainvineyards.com/wines/. Tour reservations via Tock. The one major downside is the price point. Over $300 for the tour and tasting for my wife and I. We recently visited Daou in Paso Robles and had more food and wine at a lower price. Also the price points on the wine are not tied to market norms. The Lost Mountain is $225 per bottle and the Rendezvous $110. This is considerably more than some of the best Virginia wines. For example, Linden's 2021 Hardscrabble Red is $68, The Barboursville Octagon 2021 is $75 and Glen Manor's 2022 Hodder Hill is $65. And at Total Wine one can purchase dozens of Bordeaux wines with 95 and up ratings for less than $100. We had a great time and enjoyed some high quality food and wines. But due to the price point relative to other great vineyards we will not likely be back.

Service was great, venue was good but absolutely outrageously priced for not much more value (if anymore) than a winery 5 minutes away. The wine is good but if you want a bottle it's $130. No joke $130 bottle of wine that isn't blowing you away. RDV (now lost mountain) is trying to promote an image that isn't there or consistent with their product or surrounding area.
