My husband and I went to Delaplane Cellars and we had the best relaxing day. The wine was excellent and the atmosphere was amazing. We had the best tour guide. Her customer service was outstanding.

My wife and son enjoying the incredible views and weather.

Service was impeccable! The wine and cheese were excellent! The view is indescribably beautiful!!! Prices are not too high considering all that you're enjoying!

My friend has had a membership here for a couple of years and I've been fortunate to enjoy the member day on a quarterly basis. The complementary snacks are definitely a hit miss but I do love the a free glass of wine. The seasonal charcuterie boards and fresh made baguettes cant be beat. I look forward to that every time! The view is lovely and the chairs comfortable. We've enjoyed great seating indoors and out. Definitely make a reservation. My one gripe is parking: there's no designated handicapped spots which sucks. My friend generally ends up dropping me off at the entrance and then parking back down the hill. This is literally the main thing that keeps me from getting a membership of my own.

So we went here for our 4 year anniversary. This particular wknd, the wknd of Nov 15th, just so happened to be my birthday wknd as well. To top it off, this was the same wknd i chose to propose, to my now fiancée! The experience we had at Delaplane, from the wine tastings, to the charcuterie food board, to the tour of the vineyard, to the knowledge and conversations we had with both Amanda and Melanie. It was all completely *top notch* and on this particular day, at least for us. It was seemingly second to none! We were treated like VIP guests and just loved on with absolute kindness and value! Both Amanda and Melanie, really stepped up and helped to make such a romantic and magical day, all the more wonderful! Best way to truly put it, if i had to use only two words... Complete Blessing! Thank you again ladies!!! It all definitely felt so surreal and like one of those beautiful dreams you had, that you just didn't want it to end. I would Highly recommend Delaplane Cellars to anyone who's looking for a winery that serves up great wine... wonderful atmosphere... and the utmost sweetest service! Thank you for reading my review!

Reservations @Delaplane Cellars to kickstart the Fall season. This winery is beautiful with amazing elevated views. There are picnic tables near the vines for seating and an array of other indoor and outdoor options that best suits your preference. There was a slight mixup with our reservation but it was quickly sorted out with minimal issues. Reservations have a time limit for seating which is strictly adhered to so keep that in mind. The wine tasting (flight) in my opinion was priced well but there is no engagement as the card and wine is just brought to your table for you to discuss and figure it out yourselves. I think this way is missing a big marketing mistake. In my opinion, you would want to sell the wine you are producing.... Just a thought. Nonetheless, no wine we tried was tasty enough to our liking to purchase anyway so no missed opportunity there. Lastly, the menu is limited but you can bring your own food. Also, if you want to order food to be delivered or can be done (as explained by the hostess). There was live music inside. The interior space is really small so keep that in mind. Also, the music cannot be heard outside. Because there is a rather enjoyable winery with expansive options not too far from my home, I don't think this place is worth the drive for me to visit a second time but I do recommend it to others.

An absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable--Dederick was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The tasting room, loft area and expansive patio with breathtaking views were awesome and very relaxing. The wines were all good quality. We preferred the whites over red, especially the Chardonnay- they offer 3 versions- oaked, unoaked and barrel fermented! We brought bottles of all three home. Reds were primarily bordeax style blends, each with unique characteristics. It's rare to find a place that exceeds expectations on all fronts like this. Highly recommend for an unforgettable winery experienc! My rating rationale  +1 Service +1 Wine~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Our late Saturday afternoon visit was nice. You have to check in once entering and they will seat you. We placed our order and were seated then had to follow up with them to get our wine. It took about 30 minutes before we had our wine and others arriving after us were being served. Just a glitch with our order. A beautiful venue with great views. I liked the wine as well. The large deck has a lot of umbrellas so it is a wonderful area to sit on a warm but breezy afternoon!

I enjoyed my time at Delaplane Cellars so much! I came here for my friend birthday and we had a 10/10 experience. We booked an igloo and got the charcuterie board and everything was delicious. The chocolate truffles, pickles, everything! The service was great! Richard was so nice, funny, and always checked on us. I would say this is a pretty casual and classy place! If you want to celebrate birthdays or other significant events Delaplane can be a great spot for that too. The views are amazing and when the sun is out you can capture some of the best photos. I would definitely recommend you to visit. I'm already planning to come back.

I recently spent a laidback Sunday afternoon here with a friend and cannot say enough about the positive experience! We started with the standard flight, which then led to tasting bubbles (a traditional method blanc de blancs), and culminated with a bottle of their 2019 Piedmont Station Bordeaux-style red blend. Wine collectors will appreciate this winery for their age-worthy reds, but casual drinkers will also appreciate the sparkling options and early-drinking whites and roses. We had excellent service from the attentive staff, while live music and gorgeous views of the distant hills played in the backdrop. This is a new favorite on my Virgina wine list, and should be on yours, too!

Stopped by for a tasing on a lovely Saturday afternoon and had a great time. We sat on the balcony and were able to overlook the vines. The wines were great and we got a charcuterie board to go along with it. All of the ladies were very nice and attentive. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Delaplane Cellars is absolutely stunning. The views are to die for, the bites are delicious, and the wine is robust! When we walked in we were immediately greeted and given a run down on how to order. Within minutes of ordering, the waitress brought out our wines for the wine tasting. We also ordered a sampler platter that was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back. We visited another Virginia winery a few days before going to Delaplane, but Delaplane was light years ahead of that one. Five star experience!

Delaplane cellars offers an elegant tasting experience with comfortable leather seating indoors, two levels of outdoor decks, fire pits outdoors and gorgeous sunset views. We tried the wine tasting before deciding on a bottle to pair with the Virginia Sampler - three cheeses, sausage, marcona almonds and pistachios, olives and olive oil plus an outstanding fig chutney to accompany a fresh baked baguette. The sampler truly can substitute for a lunch. All of the wines we sampled were outstanding - their French oak aged Chardonnay was the standout among the whites for us. Just enough oak to smooth out the edges without being over oaked. (We are not fans of the 80s style heavily oaked Chardonnay - this is definitely not that). All of the reds were outstanding- we settled on a bottle of Adjacency to accompany our charcuterie sampler board. Service is excellent, our server checked on us multiple times and even brought out more olives and chutney. There is live music on the weekend. Parking is on the grassy slope below the tasting room although there is a drop off area in front if necessary. There's an uphill walk to the main entry.

We went here to enjoy a day off since this is my boyfriends favorite VA winery. The scenery is gorgeous from the grounds the property to the views in the distance. We sat on a patio table under an umbrella and it was all so peaceful there. All of the staff was very friendly, greeted us promptly and came out a few times to ensure we had everything we needed. My favorite part was hands down the amazing charcuterie board. While pricey at $43, it has all top quality cheeses, olives, dried fruit, salami, fig jam and fresh baked bread. Sensational plate that would cost me this much if I bought all the ingredients at the store. Well worth it! The wine was decent, their Chardonnay reserve was my favorite, but the tasting had a great variety which I recommend trying first.

In other words, this isn't a group event at a big winery with lower priced non-estate wine options type of place. Lost Mountain Vineyards used to be called RdV. In June 2024, RDV was acquired by Eutopia Estates which is owned by the Bouygues family of France. For now they are Bordeaux-style blends focused on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. They have some white grape vines but they are not ready to produce wine yet. They tasting experience/tour lasts about 1.5 hours. You tour the front of the vineyard, the barrel cave and bottling facilities. Then you taste their three top red blends paired with ham, cheese, peanuts and biscuits. All the food comes from Virginia farms and producers. Both the wine and the food are excellent. As was the service for the tour. Details on the wines here https://lostmountainvineyards.com/wines/. Tour reservations via Tock. The one major downside is the price point. Over $300 for the tour and tasting for my wife and I. We recently visited Daou in Paso Robles and had more food and wine at a lower price. Also the price points on the wine are not tied to market norms. The Lost Mountain is $225 per bottle and the Rendezvous $110. This is considerably more than some of the best Virginia wines. For example, Linden's 2021 Hardscrabble Red is $68, The Barboursville Octagon 2021 is $75 and Glen Manor's 2022 Hodder Hill is $65. And at Total Wine one can purchase dozens of Bordeaux wines with 95 and up ratings for less than $100. We had a great time and enjoyed some high quality food and wines. But due to the price point relative to other great vineyards we will not likely be back.

The tour/tasting is the most expensive one we've ever done (at $120 a person for 5 wines & a charcuterie board) but for the space and quality of the wines, it didn't feel like a waste. The property and underground caves were stunning, the staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxed. We paid for a small group tour, but no one else signed up for our time slot, so we ended up having a totally private experience, which was a nice surprise. Take note, they only produce red wines, so if you're looking for whites or sweeter wines, this might mot be the best place for you.

I love happy accidents…read more We never intended to make a stop at Valley View Farm. Our plan was to spend Sunday morning picking apples and digging up potatoes at Hollin Farms next door. But at the sight of a mile-long line of cars slowly inching up the hill to the entrance and no clue as to how long we would have to sit and wait, we decided to make a U-turn and head to the friendly-looking farm we had passed on the way. Turned out to be a great decision. Valley View Farm is a cidery, winery, orchard, and farm market wrapped in one and set against a beautiful backdrop of rolling green hills. So basically you can sip on cider and wine, pick your own apples, eat local cheeses, and check off your grocery list all in one place. Your visit will start at the red barn at the top of the hill that serves as both farm market and tasting room. This is where you'll buy your bag for apple picking, try the wine or cider, pick up some grass-fed beef from the freezer, and/or grab some apple butter (there are easily 15 varieties) or a $25 jar of CBD honey (yep, that's a thing). This is also where you will interact with the staff, an awesome bunch who managed to keep their cool and crack a genuine smile even when they were overwhelmed by the growing line inside the market. We purchased a $23 half bushel bag - the largest size available - and strolled down to the orchard, sipping on a light cider with just the right amount of tart. The apple trees were still plentiful even this late in the season and we managed to fill our bag with a nice array of red delicious, galas, and granny smiths (which were delicious, by the way). Afterwards, we strolled back to the grass, laid out a blanket, and had a lovely picnic lunch marveling at those rolling green hills and our two-year-old doing an unintended impression of Julie Andrews singing "The Hills are Alive". It couldn't have been a more perfect day. A few more helpful things to know: - Masks are required for staff and patrons inside the farm market. - The orchard offers plenty of space for social distancing. - If you prefer not to lay on the grass, covered tables are available on the porch and to the side of the farm market. - The bathrooms are two porta potties located to the right of the farm market (there aren't any inside) so...bring hand sanitizer if you just can't hold it. We loved our visit and are already plotting the next one for pear picking!
