When I arrived to the building it was really dark and I wasn't sure which door to enter. So I entered the front door. I was met with people sitting at a table eating a vegetarian meal. Yogi Hari sat at the edge of the table. I introduced myself but everyone stared at me pretty blankly. Then one girl showed me where the satsang was. During the Satsang I was one of two other new guests. He would only acknowledge the other two guests and ignored me. He asked their names and engaged with them. Someone had to bring his attention to acknowledge me but he just looked at me and didn't ask for my name like the other two women. The satsang was beautiful. Afterwards, he gave a talk on the importance of health. The first time he acknowledged me was when he looked directly at me and asked me if " i knew what a blunt was?" So weird. After the satsang he asked if anyone had questions. I asked if they had other events throughout the month. He mentioned the yoga teacher training. Then he looked directly at me and asked "ANY OTHER QUESTIONS!?" In a strange tone. When it was over everyone kneeled in front of his feet and bowed while he pat their heads. I chose not to. It was my first time there and I simply went to feel it out. I was respectful but I didn't feel called to bow at his feet. I was the only one who didn't. Then, a student wanted to give the guests a tour. I was completely ignored and I felt a lot of weird energy. All though I'm sure the yoga teachings are beneficial and the garden has many wonderful herbs like soursop leaves I would not go back. I came with an open mind and excitement to learn but I left with disappointment and confusion. I will look for another ashram that hopefully aligns with me much better

Note the business keeps removing truthful reviews and leaving up reviews from 8 years ago…read more I attended a 200-hour yoga teacher training course at the ashram. During my time at the Ashram, I encountered unwarranted sexual advances from Yogi Hari, which made me profoundly uncomfortable and distressed. Yogi Hari also verbally abused me and publicly humiliated me in front of the other students. These actions were deeply distressing and detrimental to my well-being. On the second day of my stay at the ashram, Yogi Hari made sexual advances towards me in front of others attending the program. His behavior was disrespectful and unsuitable for someone in his position as a Yogi Master and teacher. After denying his request for sexual favors, Yogi Haris continued to publicly humiliate me on at least 5 occasions during the program. My attempts to express my concerns to Ashram staff were not met with his removal of his interaction with students as I believe he suffers from dementia and is unable to control his sexual outbursts. It is essential to remember that Yogi Hari's actions not only violated the trust I placed in the Ashram but also conflict with the ethical standards expected of a yoga teacher and spiritual leader. This behavior calls into question the suitability of Yogi Hari's continued participation at the Ashram. Many have reported this business to Yoga Alliance. this is my third time posting my review which continues to disappear.

You can sign up for a drop in class on the Mind & Body app for $18 or opt for a membership. The first month is $49 for unlimited classes! When we arrived, the instructor was signing people in and gave a few instructions for first-timers (just me) on the importance of hydration. Hydrate 45(?) minutes before and after class, making sure to drink something with electrolytes as you sweat... a lot. Walking into the warm studio, you already start to sweat but the class was amazing with the instructor aware of the skill levels of everyone in class. I was so grateful for her going over certain things a bit more as I haven't stepped into an in-person yoga class since college. I was DRIPPING in sweat, in the best way possible, and was absolutely drenched by the end of class. Even though I felt like I just took a shower, I was so relaxed. Pro tip: don't forget to bring your own mat, towel, and water!

First of all parking is super easy as there are plenty of parking spots all around the building. It's located on the 3rd floor and just follow the scent of incense once out of the elevators. The studio itself is super clean and very welcoming. Our instructor Shakti was amazing. She had the perfect pace which was great and accommodating for all levels. Her voice is very soothing and encouraging. I truly enjoyed her giving us options and letting us go at our own speed while at the same time keeping us focused on our breathing. In the end, my body felt sore but my mind felt clear. The perfect reset from the busy day to day of Miami hustle. For those who don't know about Iyengar yoga it's the real deal, not some competitive, gimmick yoga that has the potential of creating more problems than it solves. I should know, as a 68 year old I've gone to hundreds of yoga classes including some in India. The owner and primary teacher is amazing. She has years of Iyengar yoga experience having studied with BK Iyengar at his Institute in India and going back for advanced training on a regular basis. When I started working with her I could barely move from a series of injuries and significant scoliosis. At first I took private lessons because I was in such bad shape and then began her gentle yoga class. Since attending the weekly gentle yoga class my disabilities have virtually vanished. Ruthanne knows how to deal with just about any physical problem in a confident and therapeutic manner. As a medical professional myself I can attest to her ability to use her yoga knowledge to help all those in her classes.
