Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning. We asked to seat at the patio outside and it was gorgeous and super pleasant with a view at the canal. Service was wonderful, very pleasant and friendly., They had a very large selection of breakfast foods, I had all white omelet and it was very tasty. Also, my husband had a regular breakfast and child had pancake. All food was very good. We definitely enjoyed it. read more

Another local restaurant I have overlooked until today; love the fact you don't have to leave the island and fight beach traffic. The place was busy so I parked myself at the counter; waited about 5 minutes before being acknowledged but received coffee quickly and with apology. My Greek omelette was generous with feta, onions and spinach, tomatoes were lacking but it was good. The seasoned home fries were excellent. Overall, a nice experience that will be duplicated in the future. In Whitney Beach mall so plenty of parking. read more

I had a breakfast sandwich, an egg, any style, English muffin or toast, bacon or sausage, hash browns or grits, choice of cheese. I went for a fried egg on an English muffin with American cheese and bacon. Hash browns for my side. While the hash browns do not have onions in them, they were very nicely seasoned. There were two large slices of very crispy bacon cris-crossed in my sandwich. Our food came out very quickly and was very hot, temperature! The cheese was nicely melted into the egg! read more

We finally found this gem. We went there around lunch time looking for breakfast. They have a couple of signs looking for help. We being on Island time we understood. We set at the counter as they were super busy. Listen to people that were coming in some were regulars. Our waitress was work her behind off and did a great job. We ordered our food and it was out quick and it was great. This place strikes me as a local place which my wife and I love. read more

We stopped here on our vacation for breakfast. I had french toast and my husband had an omelet. This time ate inside but the outside tables in the back are very nice. Friends of the owners must have written a lot of these reviews. The cooked bacon was in a pan on the shelf and just heated up. Tasted like it was cooked two days ago. Pancakes we just ok. I don't think the griddle was hot enough. No complaints about the service. The food could have been much better. read more

We stopped in on a whim. Tried to sit outside but it was breezy so they did not have the umbrellas open, it was way too sunny so we grabbed a booth inside. The staff were pleasant and very attentive. The food was very good. We enjoyed the grilled biscuits. They had a huge lineup of hot sauces, which we were encouraged to browse through. All and all, we would go back, if not just to try to sit outside. read more

Just a nice diner with friendly efficient staff. Everyone is helpful and glad you're there. Eat inside or out. It isn't much to look at but you're there for good comfort food. Longbeach delivered again. Two Sunday mornings in a row. It's worth the walk. 3 egg omelette with your choice of ingredients along with side and bread. Or traditional eggs, bacon and side and bread. 5 Stars for a true sleepy Gulf-side town diner! I highly recommend walking right in and asking for a table in the back patio. Patio may be a bit of a stretch, but those tables back there are right on a little river where there are small boats docked. It's quiet and such a unique little spot. Everything I've had has been great. It's standard diner fare, but there is one thing that I get every time and that CANNOT be missed. Always order the cranberry orange muffin and ask for it grilled. Did I know grilled muffins were a thing prior to this? No. Has it changed everything for me? Well, breakfast, at least! Truly something you won't forget! Otherwise, friendly service and great little spot. Just look out for the loud black birds that hang around the tables! Ha! read more

Great neighborhood breakfast place - they make you feel like a longtime customer and friend right away. Delicious breakfast at reasonable prices. The French omelette was delish! Glad I stopped in For breakfast today I went with their Homemade Corned Beef Hash which came with 2 eggs the way you like'm and toast. I asked whether Home Fries were included, they were not, so I added them as a side. All that food was enough for me. The hash was very good. The texture was a little mushy but there was corned beef flavor, something you don't always find with this dish in other restaurants. The hash included pieces of green peppers, onion, and diced potatoes. The home fries were seasoned cubes of potatoes, also very good. The food was dropped off in 5-6 minutes hot. Longbeach Café is not a large place, a single walkway from the entrance to the backdoor. I sat inside with the air conditioning rather than asking for one of the half dozen tables in the back along a canal. They may have all been occupied, they were when I looked out before I left. I was also by myself and sat at a two top in the narrower part of restaurant, which came with foot traffic going past fairly often. I liked my server, a happy engaging person, who also did a very good job. I'm glad I stopped in today. read more

There really isn't much to say about the LB cafe, it's what you would expect from an island dinner spot. I will say thought that they step it up a notch with the sausage gravy and it's more homemade than dinner. I mean seriously I'd drink a cup If I could. Pancakes are ok not a fan. Pouched eggs are more on the well done but for a pouched egg they did great. Definitely recommend if you want a hometown dinner meal. read more

Nice spot we enjoyed breakfast at before heading home. We were a group of 9 and easily found a spot inside to sit at. The waitress was very attentive and we had no problem splitting the checks. I had the eggs sandwich and it was delicious! My little one had pancakes and bacon. She said it was great as well. We'll definitely be back when we return to Longboat Key again next year! read more

Good service as usual and used to be one of our favorite places. However, dissatisfied with the corn beef hash as was Not the same as it used to be. Tasted like canned with little ground pieces of meat with no trace of potatoes. Also, female cooks language was inappropriate. No need for foul language in a family restaurant. read more

We stayed at a condo right down the street. Going to breakfast is my favorite. This place had good reviews so we went. Awesome!! The food is great, there's outside seating (thank goodness!) and a canal in the back with a ton of fish. The staff is very friendly especially the older woman who works there. Reminds me of Maryland where we miss since the people are so friendly. When we vacation there next summer we will def be back! read more

Its a diner, not a cafe IMHO. Service was lovely even though our server was disslectect. Food came out quick, but get there before 11am if you want pancakes or french toast, for whatever reason other than the grill is too small to accomodate both breakfast and lunch items. read more

It was a little warm in the restaurant but the service and food were good. They don't serve Pancakes or French Toast after 11 per their menu but we ask and they made them for us at 11:30. Food was cooked perfectly. Home Fries and Bacon were great! I have one complaint. Add a kids menu. $36 for breakfast is a little pricey. read more

The shop is unassuming from the front it's in a little shopping area but don't let that fool you this place is top notch. Not only was my chai tea delicious we got to see kayakers sail by on the water as we were waiting on it!! But alas, more about my drink the consistency is a little thicker but the flavor is so on point even the ice couldn't touch it. Everyone kept talking about how good everything was, so I knew we had found a winner. But honestly, what made this place really special for us was Nicki. She was amazing. Her customer service was incredible, but it was more than that. She was so friendly, funny, warm and genuinely welcoming. She has one of those personalities that just makes you feel good. You can tell when someone truly enjoys people, and Nicki definitely does. When I came back the second day, I was so happy to see her again. Then, when we were leaving, we actually gave her a hug. How often does that happen with someone you meet at a restaurant? I think that says everything about the kind of person she is and the impression she made on our family. The food was great, but Nicki is what will make us remember this place. A good meal is always nice, but having someone make you feel that welcome is something you don't forget. Nothing ruins Eggs Benedict for me more than an under or non-toasted english muffin. Need to have some crunch. Went again with the Home Fries - still wonderful. Lastly, my son ordered pancakes during my first visit. I took a bite because that's what I do. Not good. They were tough, not fluffy, didn't absorb much syrup. Almost tasted like they were overcooked. No flavor. In summary, omelet and home fries were great. Skip the pancakes.
