    Eggs Benedict with home fries
    Margery Z.

I had a breakfast sandwich, an egg, any style, English muffin or toast, bacon or sausage, hash browns or grits, choice of cheese. I went for a fried egg on an English muffin with American cheese and bacon. Hash browns for my side. While the hash browns do not have onions in them, they were very nicely seasoned. There were two large slices of very crispy bacon cris-crossed in my sandwich. Our food came out very quickly and was very hot, temperature! The cheese was nicely melted into the egg!

Once again a great breakfast. I had a traditional breakfast with toast (all wheat, other flavors available), 2 fried eggs (I had sunny side up), hash browns. Bacon is extra, but it's worth ordering it. 3 big and very crispy pieces.

What a great place to eat! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Cinnamon french toast with berries. Our waitress was so friendly, and funny. The place is so cute, and so clean too.

5 Stars for a true sleepy Gulf-side town diner! I highly recommend walking right in and asking for a table in the back patio. Patio may be a bit of a stretch, but those tables back there are right on a little river where there are small boats docked. It's quiet and such a unique little spot. Everything I've had has been great. It's standard diner fare, but there is one thing that I get every time and that CANNOT be missed. Always order the cranberry orange muffin and ask for it grilled. Did I know grilled muffins were a thing prior to this? No. Has it changed everything for me? Well, breakfast, at least! Truly something you won't forget! Otherwise, friendly service and great little spot. Just look out for the loud black birds that hang around the tables! Ha!

Homemade Corned Beef Hash and a side of Home Fries
    Art C.

Glad I stopped in For breakfast today I went with their Homemade Corned Beef Hash which came with 2 eggs the way you like'm and toast. I asked whether Home Fries were included, they were not, so I added them as a side. All that food was enough for me. The hash was very good. The texture was a little mushy but there was corned beef flavor, something you don't always find with this dish in other restaurants. The hash included pieces of green peppers, onion, and diced potatoes. The home fries were seasoned cubes of potatoes, also very good. The food was dropped off in 5-6 minutes hot. Longbeach Café is not a large place, a single walkway from the entrance to the backdoor. I sat inside with the air conditioning rather than asking for one of the half dozen tables in the back along a canal. They may have all been occupied, they were when I looked out before I left. I was also by myself and sat at a two top in the narrower part of restaurant, which came with foot traffic going past fairly often. I liked my server, a happy engaging person, who also did a very good job. I'm glad I stopped in today.

The seafood accompaniment was adequate and filling. Also had a side house salad, which seemed fresh and also very nice. Good wine selection and I can't complain about the beer that I ordered. If you're comparing to a top ranked seafood restaurant in Miami or Tampa, look elsewhere. The prices were fair and I would probably go back there if I were in town again. The only weird part was the service. It was great for the first 45 minutes and then the waitress just literally disappeared. Mike was gone for 20 minutes until we finally had to ask another waiter for our check. They probably could've gotten me for a few more drinks if they had tried. I was going to get three stars, but I think they do deserve four stars for overall experience.

No smile, no how are you doing, just frustrated and in a hurry to get it over with. The food was nothing special. High price, low quality. You'd have a better experience going to longhorn steakhouse any day. One person in our party was sick to their stomach later that night. I would not return for a second experience.

However, as I was walking into the restaurant, I was immediately approached by an attendant named Eric who asked, word for word, "Would you like to take care of that tip now?" I was surprised and uncomfortable by being solicited for a tip before I had even entered the restaurant. I am usually a generous tipper, but the interaction felt pushy and inappropriate. Unfortunately, when we left, Eric was waiting in the parking lot and approached us again. He ran up to my car and repeated, "Would you like to take care of that tip?" The second interaction felt even more uncomfortable than the first. I was born and raised in Manatee County and am very familiar with the parking situations on the island and the etiquette surrounding tipping. In my opinion, if tips are expected to this extent, it would be better to charge a parking fee rather than repeatedly soliciting guests for gratuities. This experience left a negative impression and affected an otherwise enjoyable outing. I hope management addresses how parking attendants interact with customers, because experiences like this can reflect poorly on the business and discourage repeat visits.

We arrived around 12:30 and didn't leave until about 2:30, mostly due to extremely slow service. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed -- our server was actually the bartender, who was clearly stretched thin trying to manage both the bar and multiple tables. Our appetizers took a long time to arrive, and when they finally did, they were barely warm. The entrées weren't any better. My Cuban sandwich and their $7 "premium" fries came out lukewarm, and I didn't feel well afterward. Other dishes at the table were also cold: the grilled shrimp on the nachos, and the chicken and shrimp that were supposed to be added to a pasta dish didn't even arrive with the meal. When they finally showed up, they were cold too. We brought the issues to the staff's attention. While the manager took $50 off the bill, they never came to the table to apologize or acknowledge the problems. For a busy holiday week on Anna Maria Island, you'd expect a restaurant to be prepared, but this was unacceptable -- slow service, poorly handled food, and no accountability from management. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had on the island, and I hope the restaurant seriously reevaluates its leadership and staffing.

A lot of the old staff came back, a great sign when we arrived. Tonight's menu felt very similar to pre-hurricane menu. We got two grouper dishes (pecan crusted and blackened over Parmesan pasta) and both were incredible. Added on shishito peppers, shrimp curry puffs, corn bread, and a very unique onion dish that I can best describe as a soup-less French onion soup. Service was excellent, and cocktails were good, if small. My only complaint was that the beer menu dropped off - they used to carry a nice variety on tap and local brews but mostly bland big-name beers now. I'll definitely be back again, glad to have it in the rotation of great local restaurants!
