There were samples of watermelon and cantaloupe out for trying, and I found myself with an Indiana watermelon in my cart, plus local peaches and tomatoes. My husband called my attention to the pies, donuts, muffins, and fry pies. I could smell that Green Acres bakes/fries some of their sweets, while they sell goods from other businesses. He bought a blueberry donut and Amish fry pie, and of the two, the blueberry donut was the better buy. Green Acres not only frosted it but also added some blueberries on top. Not bad! Though they didn't make it into the cart, Green Acres also carries meat, eggs, flowers, soaps, succulents, adirondack chairs, and decor for your yard. While this won't be in my regular rotation, I'm grateful to know that Green Acres is available. I may pop in during the fall for pumpkins.

It's bonkers that there are multiple adult employees unable or unwilling to multitask. My suggestion would be for the staff to chip in or hire additional staff to move things along.

Crafting their product from the agriculturally-abundant Southwestern Michigan, they source all of their products within a 50-mile radius... and the fruits of their labor are perfect proof of the quality produce we have in our tiny corner of the world! I've been greeted by a very friendly young gentleman behind the counter each time I've approached, and they have samples of most of their preserves out as well. Do stop by and try some. Hard candies from rock candy to candy necklaces and every brightly packaged, florescent 80's sweet treats I loved as a young boy. A large counter of homemade fudges, brittle's, jellied fruit slices, cookies and chocolates just by sight alone, gets the water works flowing in your mouth. Jelly Beans of every conceivable color and flavor, lollypop's the size of my head. No matter your age, the time warp that hits you, sending you back into your distant memory (depending on your age) to a time and place we all remembered where these treats were enjoyed in our youth. The employees here are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You can sample every oil variety, vinegars too. On this visit there were some maple syrup varieties to sample. My favorite feature is the recipe cards that are available throughout the store. Each recipe uses an oil or vinegar variety, and provides a good suggestion for using the product. My favorite oil so far is the Tuscan Herb, which is perfect for dipping crusty Italian bread slices. Fustini's is a nice place to shop for gifts too. Besides the oil and vinegar varieties there are unique accessories that make perfect gifts for friends and relatives who enjoy cooking.
