I met Donna and she is a very good teacher and dancer. We started with the popular hustle. Donna has created multiple patterns and calls the moves as she teaches them. It is at times difficult to follow with three couples but Donna really is quite good at this. I am slow to get it all but with practice I know my wife and I will do great. The studio is very spacious and has two dance floors. They floors are great for dancing and there are mirrors in both walls to view how you look. Parking is in the garage by sears and most of the time no one is there. The price is reasonable at $25 per couple per hour. She is flexible and will accommodate your schedule. She takes walk-ins and has dance nights with DJ and live bands. Oh and bring cash, she doesn't take credit cards. All in all this has been a lot of fun and we have had a blast with our friends. The two things I really loved here: the locked front door access, you need to ring a bell to get inside so it adds that extra sense of comfort.. and, they also have a baby gate between the play space and the tables/register area so once your kid is in there is truly no where for them to go that they shouldn't be going. Also, they don't sell toys here which I think is important because most of us aren't coming to these spots with the intents on buying any of the toys and I can only imagine how many moms have dealt with tantrums over there kids trying to grab something off the toy shelf at other locations... (sorry, playday). They have limited hours, i think it's 2-3 days a week and it's only open 10-1pm for open play but it's also only $10 a child and a membership is $20 a month. They provide name tags so everyone can get to know one another more easily. The crash course brings you up to speed with no prior knowledge needed. The instructors are skillful and offer great explanations. The founder's (Allison) passion is evident. She makes every effort to ensure the space is safe, welcoming, and fun. The best part is the social dancing afterwards. Everyone is so inclusive and friendly. We have met many friends through this group and now we make it a point to go to every event they're hosting. I discovered Steve to be an incredible instructor, and his passion for dance was truly inspiring. His knowledge of the style was evident in every step. West Coast Swing has a lot of technical aspects, and Steve's attention to detail was truly refreshing. He gave instant feedback and demonstrations about form and techniques! This level of real-time interactivity can *never* be achieved from watching a YouTube video. You need to be here IRL!! **Atmosphere** The dance class itself had a fun, casual, and welcoming environment. The studio is large and spacious and has two dance floors with blonde hardwood flooding that is easy to move about. The place is clean and unclutter with ample free parking outside. I found the classes to be reasonably priced with options for taking one-class-at-a-time or enrolling for an entire series of classes. After my first two very positive experiences, I decided to enroll for the entire series. **Other classes** In addition to West Coast Swing, the studio also offers classes in other dance forms. Since then I've bought all my guitars and amps from Terry, including a Martin acoustic/electric, a Strat, along with my sons Fender Jazz bass and amp. My son explored many stores checking out basses and amps. Terry asked what my son was looking for and what music he was playing. He let him browse and take his time with no pressure. Every time I go in with an instrument or amp in need of repair Terry drops what he's doing and, at the very least, looks at it or repairing it then and there. I went in looking for a new acoustic guitar and Terry found out I liked Martin's but couldn't afford one. He sold me a Martin with a cracked panel on the face at a fantastic price assuring me it wouldn't bother the sound and offered to fix it if it did. I still haven't repaired it. Places that have remained in business over the many years and are truly special during my younger days are few and far between.
