This butcher shop is clean, organized, and has a very good selection of vacuumed sealed varieties of meat.

Nothing but greatness! From the taco meat to the ribs nothing zero to complain about . Include pics of some of their meat I've cooked. This isn't Walmart this is a real butcher shop and meat market

    Does Bluebonnet still process deer?

We are actually processing wild game, it’s just very minimal. We are still taking in a normal amount of domesticated animals so we aren’t allowed much wild game. The best way to get it in is to call and see if we are accepting more. I believe… Read more

Always dealt with the courteous younger workers in the past. We drive from Sherman because the product has been good in the past and the drive is not too bad, offering us a chance to reminisce about a hunt on the way in to the processor. Deer hunting for my kids has always had an unspoken goal of driving to Fischer's after the hunt. Last night we brought a doe in at just after 7 PM and I called Steve Fischer - the first name listed on the list of phone numbers to call. I've never met Steve before last night, though I have heard about him. I've never in my life dealt with a more rude or patronizing individual. I sat there and watched him patronize and demean a 14-year-old kid because he obviously didn't want to get off of his azz and come check in this kid's deer. If you don't want to come up after hours, then don't put your name on the sign. I asked him if we were putting him out and that we don't aim to, or make a make a practice of such. After a smart azz and unprofessional response, I instructed my son to put his deer back in the truck and advised Steve we'd just go somewhere else. The relative positive is that I got to talk with my son for an hour about the value of his dollar, businesses who deserve it, and businesses that do not. I've referred a friend to Fischer's about a month ago who described a similar experience dealing with Steve at check-in. You've earned your last dollar from us bud.

Cooked them medium rare, and they were a bit tough, had gristle, and the flavor was about what I would expect at Tom Thumb or Kroger. Pretty disappointed and just feel like everything is way overpriced. I could be wrong, but I expect the freshest meat possible when I go to a butcher. If the steaks had been amazing, I wouldn't have cared about the price. In the past, I have purchased a prime rib, which was good but not great. The best thing I have purchased are their pork chops. Those were excellent, and the only reason this is getting three stars.

My husband had found a couple of options in Plano, and we were actually on our way there when I decided to do a quick search. That's when I found Deep Cuts based on the amazing reviews--and we were pleasantly surprised by how close it was. As soon as you walk in, the shop is immaculately clean with a really cool look to it, and they were even playing great house music, which added to the vibe. Raul helped us and he was incredibly knowledgeable about all the cuts of meat. We were looking for certain cuts, and he walked us through everything with so much expertise. We ended up getting the tri-tip, the picanha, and the marinated skirt steak to try based on the reviews. We're definitely coming back for the pork belly, and we want to try their Italian beef sandwiches during the week too. Raul mentioned we can always call ahead to make sure they have the cuts we want, which is super helpful. We were genuinely impressed with this butcher shop. Everyone working there was friendly and welcoming from start to finish. I haven't seen a butcher shop like this since I lived in Chicago. This is officially our new go-to butcher. Five stars all the way.

I ordered a grass fed rib eye, short ribs, gravlax, sweet Italian sausage, and mild Italian sausage. I can't give everything 5 stars. The short ribs were way better than expected - I read lots of complaints about them being all fat, but mine were fantastic. We made a dinner out of them and used the leftovers to chop up into scrambled eggs this week for breakfast. The only issue I had there was that they come in a bag that is not vacuum sealed, so they looked really freezer burned and dry. I guess if the flavor was good, they were fine? But they really should consider vacuum sealing these. The rib eye was not as red as it should have been. It seemed a bit brown, as though it had slightly oxidized before being vacuum sealed. And it was very small, only 12 ounces. I expected at least a pound. Lox was very flavorful, albeit a bit leathery/dry. Again, like the rib eye, it seems like it was a bit oxidized before being vacuum sealed. Sausages were good - as long as you vacuum seal sausage, it's fine frozen and really just a matter of personal taste. Ordering and delivery process were easy and efficient. No complaints there. I will definitely try them again, with a keen eye on reviews of specific products so I know what to expect.
