Horrible experience receptionist is a wall and didn't leave messages to technicians. Technicians are all about up sell and left my kitchen reeking of smoke. Even the owner talked over and down to me, of course after they sold me a 5 year plan. I placed a request through Angie's List to get estimates for installing a water softener at a house I was buying. Blue frog plumbing immediately called me to schedule an appointment. On Monday, June 15 they came out to meet me and the realtor at the vacant house that I would be purchasing within a couple of days. I asked the technician for a couple of estimates and to al find out where the water shut off valve is located. While I was inside the house meeting with the pest control company the technician came in and asked if he could show me something. We went outside and he explained that the water shut off valve broke off when he shut off the water. He acted confused and asked what he was supposed to do indicating that he thought I should pay for them to repair their mistake. I said he needed to fix what he broke and I wasn't even the owner of the house yet and that I did not ask him to shut off the water but only to simply find where it was located. The technician went on to say that if I was going to order work on other items that they would deduct the price from the estimates of other items that I was considering. I said again this was not my problem and that they had to fix what they broke because I was not even the owner of the house yet. He then said he had to go call his boss and then he spent a long time in the car on the phone while I was waiting. We then contacted the company ourselves and explain the issue and they said they would fix it. The technician came back inside and said he couldn't fix it at that time and would have to come back. He also emailed me estimates for some of the other items I was considering. The prices that they quoted to me were absolutely ridiculous. For example for them just to install a water softener that I would go to Home Depot and purchase was $1650. Installation for a tankless hot water heater was close to $5000. When I asked him to figure out why the gas fireplace wouldn't ignite or why the Jets in the tub would not work he barely spent any time figuring that out and said they would have to come back. Based upon my experience with this company and the fact that they did not want to take responsibility for what he did which is break some thing that they were looking at an acted like I had to pay for it I would never use them. In fact please do not use this company if this is the kind of work they do. Totally incompetent and they did not want to take responsibility for their screw up. Just awful. Stay away. Update 6/28/20: The owner of the business contacted me and asked me to remove this review because they fixed the problem. I do not believe in doing that and I believe what I am seeing is truthful. Just because he fix the problem doesn't change the history of what happened. Also for reference I have since had a water softener installed for $1000 total including the softener which directly contradicts what the owner of this business claimed saying that it's very expensive to have water softeners install. I called bluefrog to make a major repair of a separation between two major pipes in our new (to us) home. This included requiring a six-foot hole to reach the pipes beneath our slab foundation. Communication was more than great, excavation went smoothly and the landscaping was put right back in place. Separately, the same day excavation filled the hole from the major pipe repair, I had to check my oven for a gas leak. After running into issues with my energy company, I called bluefrog. They came out, made sure it was safe and I was walked through what I needed to do in place of the energy company by the plumbing technician, Russ. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. And this is with two kids under five running around me in circles! What's more, the the technician explained the situation with the owner, Alan, who called me immediately and partially reimbursed the service fee for the gas leak check. The initial fee was fair, and they went the extra mile in place of the energy company. I wasn't surprised when I got a call from the owner the next day making sure that I was able to get the gas back on properly. I found bluefrog through Thumbtack (an app for home repairs). I contacted via Angie's List. They came out very quickly to give a qoute. They said it might take a few days to get the qoute back. One month later... no contact. I requested another qoute. No response. I called and left a message. They called back with a bunch of excuses, none of which they contacted me about. I was nice and addressed each issue. They said they will give me the qoute Monday. It's Wednesday and I haven't heard back. I'm a disabled war veteran. I don't deserve this and don't think anyone should have to deal with this kind of treatment. read more

Very pleased with my experience! Top notch customer service! First when I called Bluefrog and spoke to Brandy she was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. She was able to schedule a home visit very quickly and easily. My home visit went very smoothly. There were two plumbers who arrived on time to conduct the inspection; one of the plumbers was named Brandon, I can't remember the other guy's name. But they were both very professional and respectful. They were clean and even wore covers on their shoes to keep my floor clean. They gave me advice and a free estimate, no hassle or pressure. I was a very need customer (or the buying realtor was). They required the contractor was bonded, had workers comp and an invoice on letterhead. Bluefrog provided all that and was very timely and precise with their work and communication was great!. At first, I was a little set back by the answering service but they always returned my call within the hour. These guys were great! Used them to replace two 50 gallon water heaters in our attic with tight access. Nick and Roberto are an excellent team. Very friendly, courteous, clean, professional, knowledgeable,quiet, respectful of our home. No additional charges for original estimate or trip charges. Even did a couple of unrelated minor things for no additional charge. Highly recommend and will use them again in the future if/when necessary read more
