Andjudging by the reviews I'm not alone. Management are you picking up? Aside from that, they have a big selection and front door staff is usually friendly. Updated review. Unfortunately, going from 3 stars to 2 is…read moreworth the rating. The best thing about this dispensary is its convenience and their staff (security?) that greets you upon entering the front door. Aside from that, I'd say be very very cautious. They like to hurry you along, no courtesy or respect if you'd prefer to browse or ask questions, and even worse, they do NOT inform you about otherwise "hidden" fees after purchasing products. They don't share anything in advance. You either know already or you'll find out after the fact. Horrible! I'd recommend you use cash only. It's the safest bet! Otherwise, be aware that they do not accept credit cards, only debit. And keep in mind that for using your debit card there will be an additional $3.50 surcharge (and possible a fee from your bank, depending on who you bank with). The Apothecarium's system will process your transaction as an 'unauthorized' atm purchase/withdrawal. There are other dispensaries all around if you're into it, so this is not the only space. If you do go here, proceed with caution and at your own risk. Twice within the past few years was enough for me! That second chance was the last. Tiny parking lot with minimal spaces on the side of the building. It's easy to miss so look closely or you'll bypass it.

It's a very lovely space, and the parking is not terrible (there is a lot down the street by the train station). I have visited this bookstore about three times, and each time, I am turned off by the lack of friendliness from the staff. No one has ever greeted me upon entering or said goodbye on the way out. The only time I ever heard someone greet a customer is to tell him to put his drink away. Even though this store is about five minutes from where I live, it is not my go-to.

On top of being well stocked with a varying selection of books, they also have a great selection of activity kits (for children & adults) and other little "doo-dads" (for lack of a better term) that would make for a great addition to a gift for anyone. All of the staff that I encountered during my visit were very kind & helpful. I can't wait to visit again.

My first order arrived perfectly, which already impressed me. But the second, larger shipment completely exceeded my expectations. Every bottle was carefully packed, separated into smaller boxes so nothing would move, and even individually sealed at the caps. I've never seen that level of attention to detail before. On top of that, Chris went out of his way to help me track down a very specific version of the product I needed, even contacting other stores. He was communicative, honest, and genuinely cared about getting it right. He also included extra items and even additional bottles, which was such a thoughtful surprise. It's rare to find this kind of care and integrity in a business. I will definitely be coming back.

I thought her job was to help the customer, but she pissed me off. So, I went to JJ's in Union where everyone was more then professional and treated me very kindly.

Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. The wall frames and Christmas decorations are gorgeous and there are tables, with comfortable seating, on one end of the Cafe. I ordered the following: Matcha White Hot Chocolate (a traditional matcha latte blended with white chocolate sauce), Snickerdoodle Latte (A traditional latte, blended with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla syrup). Both of these were served at the perfect temperature, were richly creamy, and served in large mugs. I also ordered a Carrot Cake Muffin and it was very good. It was moist, each forkful had a decent amount of walnuts, and the frosting was exquisite. Once you're finished with your food, don't forget to stroll through the entire cafe. You'll probably find something that will pique your interest. Either way, try to make time to enjoy it all.

I did not know about this shop until very recently (I only went to Maplewood for the first time a few months ago). Before talking about the shop itself, I will say that during my recent visit the staff was very nice (this included two young women and one older one - possibly the owner?). I overheard them having several conversations with customers and they all seemed very familiar and friendly. Of course, this is just my experience, so take that as you will. No. 165 (so named for the building number) is an absolutely adorable, comfortable and whimsical shop in Maplewood. They sell all sorts of items ranging from novelty items, candy, clothes, stationary, dish towels, purses, soaps and more. Everything in the shop is either meant to be charming, beautiful or tongue-in-cheek and I love that combination. Interestingly, I saw a note on the counter that indicated at some point last year this shop was going to close, but a strong reaction from the neighborhood helped the owner to change their mind and keep the shop open. What that meant on a practical level is that during my visit a lot of the shelves were definitely more bare than I think they would normally be. This decision is recent, so I am hoping that means in the next couple months the store will restock and have more to offer than it already has. If you're in the area, definitely make it a point to visit No. 165!
