I wanted to watch the Carolina game unfortunately it was delayed, but I was still able to watch whatever they had on the TV. The staff was very friendly. Even the cook West friendly as well. The waitress took my order and didn't know that they were out of tater tots so the cook quickly came out and said he could make loaded fries for me, which was awesome. I also ordered their wings and a buffalo chicken sandwich all of it was great. I can honestly say that the weekend I had the two ladies that were working the bar and the tables and the cook were spot on. I did not have a bad experience. Been to Blues maybe 7-8 times now. The place is more designed for locals, outsiders seem to be treated "a little different" Tonight we ordered take out and we were told it would be twenty minutes. 20 mins later we were told "It won't be long" . Ten more mins, we were told "The chef just got his ass chewed out" (we were offered a coke, but didn't know if we'd be charged for it, or if it would take 30 minutes to get the coke, so we passed). Another 35 minutes and our order came out. No apology, just plopped the food in front of us and gone. Get home and they forgot the fries. This place is nearby and I haven't been as often as I should. It's under new ownership now and many changes have been made and it seems for the better. It was cleaner inside and out w/plenty of parking. A friend and went over the past weekend and I'll say we both enjoyed it very much. I had a Caesar salad w/chicken tenders and at every bite. They got the dressing just right, not drenched or dry. I got a cup of chili, another of She crab soup and a grilled cheese sandwich (it wasn't on the menu until, but they made it anyway. That kind of flexibility is appreciated.) to go. Every last bite and spoon were enjoyed. Our little chihuahua Buddy apparently gave them 5 stars because we discovered he'd jumped up on the table and scarfed what little was left of the chili and would've eaten the cup too if it wasn't styrofoam. It was a very enjoyable experience and my friend & I were both impressed over the last times we'd been there. I hope to go back soon and try out some of the other menu items. I'd did notice that they had almost a dozen different types of chicken wings. Our server wasn't absent, nor did he hover over us. He was informative and responsive and that was all appreciated. This time marked my 10th visit since under new ownership/management, so it's time I share this fab wing spot. For the price, hands down, you will not find a better deal on wings. They offer several different-size platters and will do split platters to get two flavors. The guy who manages this now (Elliot?) is ALWAYS THERE and always asks if we are enjoying the food, require anything he can share with our server, and is just super personable. As far as ambiance, it's a bar. Getting away from the bar noise and TVs is impossible, so if you want to converse with your dinner partner, I recommend sitting outside on the patio if the weather permits. This is a unique location. I feel like only the local neighborhoods know it's here, so maybe this feedback will inspire others to come to check it out. It's worth the drive up Highway 41 for the wings alone. read more

So...I've heard good n bad about this place. Now under new ownership we decided to give it a go! Been there a few times now and totally hooked on the wings. They are making some nice updates to the place too. So far so good. Went with a big group and the owner and staff handled it well. Not afraid to pitch in and talk to folks, bring drinks or food out. Appears it is under new ownership. The mesquite bbq sauce is wonderful. I was told the OG Buffalo is good. I'm not much for those. They use to grill the wings after deep frying them. We have been wanting to try this place since new owners took over in May. They have done a great job of slowly updating the interior as well as exterior. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It was surprisingly packed for a Thursday night @ 8:30, trivia night! As for the food we ordered wings, nachos and soup. Food was just your typical bar food. Definitely should have been better. On the map and receipt it says Blue's House of Wings. On the building it says Blue's local grill. If they changed the name because the wings suck then they did the right thing, if that's not the reason then it should have been. We ate there about a month ago and it seems like all was good but I don't remember what we had. I stopped in today and ordered 10 wings with honey bbq to go. The wait wasn't long which was nice. But when I opened the box. I had 5 plain and 5 bbq. And all 10 were crispier than a potato chip. Thank god for ranch dressing to add some moisture back to them. I feel like a bar and grill should do a few things really good. That's serve beer/liquor and make great burgers and wings. Especially a place that's called House of Wings. Our first visit to this place and we ended up staying almost 5-hours. The wings and cocktails were awesome. Possibly the best wings I've ever had and I am very picky when it comes to wings. We met the owner, Robert. He was a great guy. Also met many of the locals who frequent this establishment. After reading all the great reviews since this place is under new management, my wife and I tried it out for lunch today. The service was very attentive and friendly but the food quality was mixed. The French dip sandwich was delicious and one of the best in Mt. Pleasant, as was the coleslaw. The lemon pepper wings on the other hand were a complete miss. Tiny, overcooked and unappetizing.. when I asked the waitress if this was normal, she explained that their normal supplier didn't deliver, so they had to scramble to find an alternate source of wings. She stated that they gave more wings than usual to make up for the difference, as the normal product is "twice the size". It seems however that the cooking times weren't adjusted to account for the undersized wings - they were dry without any juiciness at all. This seems like a fun place and we will give it another try, but better to 86 the wings rather than serve a substandard product. BTW, the place is cute with a real laid back atmosphere, but the bar/ dining room smell of stale beer - this needs to be resolved to truly fulfill the new management's drive to revitalize this establishment. read more

Who would go to a place named house of wings and order crab cakes?? Answer-someone who loves real Maryland crab cake!!! Only available on Friday. I never order crab cake in a restaurant because it will be at least 25 to 50 percent filler. At Blues it is a true Maryland crab cake with zero filler!! I went there on a Friday to try their wings And the gentleman next to me pointed to the specials board andsaid to try the crab cake . I told why I never order crab in arestaurant. He said if I didn't like it he would pay for it !!! so I ordered it. Was I amazed It was large chunks of crabmeat with no filler!!!I have taken my family there and out of town visitors and ALL of them (I would say about 30 people total)were amazed and very happy with the very large and delicious crab cakes. Few places make a good rib. Sure there are the food trucks, but the smell is what pulls you in. Blue's on 41 north have great wings. They must be proud of them; it's on the marquee. Robert will smoke some ribs on Thursday, and it is the special for the night. I think there are two types of rib people. First there are the type that go to a place that "It's on the marquee". To many to list when you know what I a getting at. The other would be someone like myself. I smoke my own, and rank every establishment I go into. Since I have eaten Robert's ribs. It's pretty much your basic local bar. Wings were fair size, tried the Cajun and Honey Barbeque. Both were really good. Flavor fire grilled into chicken, not slathered on. Others at the table had Philly, Chicken sandwich and the Super nachos, they all said food was great. Everything was fresh and warm when it came to the table, including French fries. Only meal that wasn't enjoyed was the French dip. Said it had no flavor. Service was ok. They don't seem to have a dedicated waitress for tables that aren't in bar area. So whoever is bartending is basically bartending and waitressing the entire restaurant. That's a huge feat for anyone to try and do. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like that's the norm for that place. The decor is a bit dated, and dark. Giving it a bit of a depressing feel. All in all, It wasn't horrible, we could possibly be back at some point, if we are out that way. read more

I will never go back to Blues. On two separate occasions in the past month, I ordered wings and french fries. The first time which was on a week night, I did not get my complete order and had to go back and get the rest of it. The waitress gave the remainder of my order to someone else so I had to wait for the rest to be prepared again. Today, I went to pick it up and the order was completely messed up. I ordered 40 wings, received 50, flavors were incorrect and no french fries. I went back up to the restaurant, returned the food and my order was no where to be found. Th restaurant is extremely under staffed which consists of two waitresses and 1 cook even when it is busy. It is a shame because the food is really good but for me it is not worth the frustration of having to deal with incompetent people. read more

We eat at Blue's (the one on Hwy 41) 2 or 3 times per month and really enjoy it. The main draw for us is the wings, which are quite large and fire cooked, not fried. I usually get them hot, which I would consider medium but the flavor is great. They still have a decent "bite" to them. My wife also likes their chicken fingers. Blue's fries are pretty good but their onion rings are really excellent. Portion size is good to. An order of rings is easily split between my wife and me. I'm not sure if Blue's makes their own bleu cheese dressing but it is excellent as well. We had their "smoked" ribs the other night and they were just okay. I really couldn't taste much smoke at all. I'll probably stick with the wings in the future, especially since that's what I really go there for anyway. They have a decent selection of beer with several choices on tap. I normally get the draft Yuengling, which is always a good choice. In the dining room there are TVs at each Booth. In the bar are 3 large screen TVs, usually tuned to sports. Oddly not many women seem to go to Blue's and in the bar area the guys can get pretty loud. The dining room is much quieter so if you want to have conversation, that's the place to be. It can be difficult to hear sometimes in the bar area but the seating is more comfortable at the tall tables, in my opinion. Service is pretty good and the waitresses are always friendly. Sometimes they are overwhelmed though. It seems like at busy times they tend to be a little understaffed. But if you aren't happy about something, they'll try to make it right. All in all, we're fans. We'll probably be back in the next week or so. I definately recommend Blue's House of Wings. read more

Great little sports bar with a local feel. It was tucked away off of the road. It is nothing fancy but most dive sports bars aren't. The staff was super friendly, We got the wings and cheeseburger. The wings were great and the burger was average. The real only complaint was the ranch dressing was awful. Ranch is something that you should make sure is on point when wings are your top item.
