We were a party of 12 who had the pleasure of dining at Burton's this afternoon (4/17/26). The interior was very comfortable and accommodating, the noise level allowed for conversation, and the food was well-prepared, fresh, and delicious. My husband wants to go back just for the chicken risotto . The highlight of the meal was our wonderful, superstar server, Kai. Oh My Word! I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. We've worn out West Ashley and haven't had much new in a long time so we made the trek to Mt. P. I am so glad we did! I'd give this place 5 stars for the food alone. But let me get to the basics. We felt under dressed. It felt like fine dining. Linen Napkins, water Carafe on the table, Very clean atmosphere. Decorated very nice. The price of the food reflects this. It was over $100 for three people with tip and only a six dollar appetizer with no alcohol. The Waiter was slow. We waited a long time for basic things such as drink refills and to pay for the check. I went to the bathroom and back before he even came back to take our payment. He dropped off the bill, walked away.. I waited five minutes.. got up to go to the bathroom, came back and he still had not returned. The place was not busy. We waited another five minutes and were getting ready to go look for him when he showed up. That was the only downfall of the day. The food, The Food was amazing. I ordered the General Tso Bowl. Omg it was so good. We've literally found our new favorite place. The Gluten Free Options were so many! They are very sensitive to allergies, great place to go if you are Gluten Free. They have a dedicated GF menu. Service was fine, booths are cozy. The kids menu allows kids to choose up to 3 different sides. My daughter was excited for the pudding cup. The shrimp was flavorful and plump. The GF pasta was good. I do appreciate that they're allergy-aware; we avoid seed oils, and they were great about cooking with olive oil. The server mentioned their fryer uses canola, so fried food was off the table. Our server was friendly and on it. We tried the Cajun Shrimp Pasta -- not much heat, and the shrimp were a bit overcooked. The garden salads were fine but not worth the price. A spontaneous Friday night dinner - a perfect start to the weekend. This restaurant was the bustling hot spot and yet the service was as perfect as always. The four of us each had a different meal and each one of us enjoyed every bite. We started off with a holiday cocktail and some she-crab soup. I ordered the Thai steak salad. It came with toasted slices of lotus root, which upgraded the presentation delightfully. The others in party ate the Ahi Tuna Bowl, Cajun Shrimp Pasta and the NY Strip (served with bone marrow butter, seasonal veggies and garlic mashed potatoes). Went after doing the walk through on our new home. Knew we couldn't overdo as we had dinner reservations and this place had decent reviews and was close to our hotel. Nice space that is very popular. Our server Presley , was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Couldn't ask for more. I love a Caesar salad, but rarely get them these days because I don't think anyone can make a dressing as good as mine. This was delicious!!!! I asked for the dressing on the side as people tend to way overdress salads these days and I'm glad I did because the dressing was everything I like and so good we used it as a dipping sauce for French fries. Presley informed us you could buy containers of it so I will definitely be back for that! The fries were tasty , but they were cold. Presley did offer to replace, but they tasted good, so we declined. Now to the best part! We had been craving a good burger and the pictures looked great so that's what we had. Usually order medium even though I prefer MR , but I had a feeling they could pull it off so we went for it. Best burger I have eaten in years! Juicy, but the bun held up. Crisp additions. The flavor was incredible. I was sorry we had decided to split everything due to our dinner plans and I coveted my husband's half. He felt the same. So we both protected our plates. lol. Guess what happened. We were in Mt Pleasant and our first stop was Burtons. Friendly greetings and seated. Our waitress was well trained and knowledgeable. Ask about allergies and informed us of the specials got our drinks gave us a few minutes to decide what our order would be. Bread service is a must have, I got the maxx burger with fries and Donna had a salad with chicken. As usual everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Then it was time for the key lime pie. I do really like Burton's. My review would have been 5 stars if not for my most recent visit. I usually really enjoy my food no matter what I order when I come here. They have an awesome menu selection with so many choices for different tastes as well as a good vibe going on inside the restaurant. The staff is great too! For some reason the past time I went, my food fell a bit short. The dinner roll was probably my favorite thing we got; it came with three different dips and butters to pair with and an everything bagel seasoning on it. However the risotto I got for my entree didn't have a lot of flavor. While the lobster roll was good, I didn't think it was good enough for the price it was. I will by all means be back here, but not for a while. It is a good place to go with family and small children! read more

Where do I even start? This was our first-ever trip to Charleston, and we stumbled upon Burtons at the last minute. We made a reservation about 20 minutes before arriving, and even with that short notice, we were seated within 5-7 minutes of checking in. Although we don't have food allergies, we genuinely appreciate Burtons' extensive gluten-free menu and the care they put into accommodating guests. Our server, Gabriel, asked right away whether we had any allergies and continued to provide top-notch service throughout the evening. He made sure we always had what we needed, and our food was absolutely delicious. We also really appreciated the restaurant manager stopping by our table to check in. The space itself is tastefully designed and beautifully decorated, making the whole experience even better. Overall, our dinner at Burtons was outstanding--excellent food, excellent service, and an atmosphere that made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We were looking for a restaurant that would please two families with kids ranging in ages from 2-14 years old and this was perfect. The place was very nice and had a cute outdoor patio area. The menu was varied and had something to please everyone, big plus was that they had a kids menu! If you have kids you know that it can be challenging to find a nice restaurant with a kid's menu. Kid portions were also pretty big. They serve local fresh catch, which was happened to be the red snapper when we were there, it was great! The only issue with the food was that the fries seemed to be stale fries that had been refried. We did mention it to our sever, Ken and were brought a fresh plate but something was still off. The fries were very dark and greasy. We were served by Ken who was absolutely wonderful! He was very attentive and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant and if you're helped by Ken then it's an extra bonis! read more

Best part of the meal was the GF calamari, it's been very long since I've had that. I was a little surprised how small the bread portion was I guess. Lobster roll was ok but I would probably get something else next time. GF Mac and cheese came out nice and hot and delicious. I just love the fact that they have a HUGE dedicated GF menu. read more

We both had the great general tso's chicken bowl, me without the aoli and dining partner with. We both thought it was excellent, with a little heat, and a great healthy option. Service was very friendly, and they made a great espresso martini. They don't have a real big draft beer selection, 4 options but had a few more taps, so not sure if the other taps are for other drinks or there was an issue or what. They also have wine/bottles and cans of beer, etc. The entrance is around the front towards the road, so we messed up and entered at the back of the restaurant. Would definitely eat here again if out shopping in Mt Pleasant. They have 2 outdoor patios for dining with big umbrellas as well, but they were closed up for the day/cold weather. read more

Crispy outside, tender and soft inside with 3 dips: butter, tapaneade, and a pesto oil. Also delicious was the beautiful Ceaser salad! Bang Bang Shrimp was impressive to view and sweet spicy tasty. Both ladies - excellent team members for Burton's-the restaurant was very busy and no one was standing around -every staff member was in motion.. A well oiled machine! Came here on a Saturday evening just to have a cocktail and dinner. First time dining in. I was expecting your typical bar and grille but this one is actually a bit high scale in comparison. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and explained the menu very well. I ended up going for the bolognese which was OK. I'm sure they have better menu options and this one just wasn't as exciting in taste. But the cocktail I had was superb!!!! Came here for the first time. And the bartender was super slow. I tried to order a smaller portion and was told " we are happy to give you the smaller portion but have to charge you for the full portion" super disappointing in the restaurant and the behavior of the staff. If I'm giving you money for food please understand that some of us do not eat the volume you serve so ordering the smaller portion should be allowed. Needless to say I will not be back they have lost my business and the business of anyone that asked me about this restaurant. read more
