    Braised Short Ribs Sandwich

Oh My Word! I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. We've worn out West Ashley and haven't had much new in a long time so we made the trek to Mt. P. I am so glad we did! I'd give this place 5 stars for the food alone. But let me get to the basics. We felt under dressed. It felt like fine dining. Linen Napkins, water Carafe on the table, Very clean atmosphere. Decorated very nice. The price of the food reflects this. It was over $100 for three people with tip and only a six dollar appetizer with no alcohol. The Waiter was slow. We waited a long time for basic things such as drink refills and to pay for the check. I went to the bathroom and back before he even came back to take our payment. He dropped off the bill, walked away.. I waited five minutes.. got up to go to the bathroom, came back and he still had not returned. The place was not busy. We waited another five minutes and were getting ready to go look for him when he showed up. That was the only downfall of the day. The food, The Food was amazing. I ordered the General Tso Bowl. Omg it was so good. We've literally found our new favorite place. The Gluten Free Options were so many! I have been GF for over a year now and have found it is very difficult to eat out at most places. But this place has so much to choose from! We will go back over and over it is that good!

Outstanding! The 3 of us ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, the wings and the Shrimp salad. The read appetizer was terrific too. Service was AMAZING! Definitely would come back!

You are greeted with a smile. Burtons is a perfect place for people that have celiac or gluten intolerance. The staff are always very accommodating and knowledgeable about cross contamination. There are a multitude of gluten free options such as cheese steak rolls and donuts. The donuts are on the weekend brunch menu and I wish they were on the dinner menu. Every season, Burtons adds new items to the menu. The interior decor is very minimalistic; however, very beautiful. Overall, Burtons is a phenomenal experience

A short rib grilled cheese sandwich, whaaat? Sign me up, please. I have a complaint. Too much to eat in one sitting. Lol. Mt Pleasant is SO much.more than when I lived here in 1994. This is a chain restaurant I can't wait to take the hubby to in Atlanta, now that we live in Savannah. The sandwich was excellent, service was wonderful and the place had a pub feel to it.

They are very sensitive to allergies, great place to go if you are Gluten Free. They have a dedicated GF menu. Service was fine, booths are cozy. The kids menu allows kids to choose up to 3 different sides. My daughter was excited for the pudding cup. The shrimp was flavorful and plump. The GF pasta was good. The soup was ok, would have been better with crackers or some bread or something for the $14 bowl. There were also no chunks of crab in the soup.

We stopped in hoping for fresh salmon but learned it was farm-raised, not wild-caught -- kind of a bummer. I do appreciate that they're allergy-aware; we avoid seed oils, and they were great about cooking with olive oil. The server mentioned their fryer uses canola, so fried food was off the table. Our server was friendly and on it. We tried the Cajun Shrimp Pasta -- not much heat, and the shrimp were a bit overcooked. The garden salads were fine but not worth the price. For a scratch kitchen, I expected a little more flavor and flair. The place was comfortable and dog-friendly on the patio, which I loved. Overall: great service, decent atmosphere, but the food didn't wow me. Glad we tried it once, but I wouldn't rush back.

A holiday cocktail with vodka, citrus and white cranberry

A spontaneous Friday night dinner - a perfect start to the weekend. This restaurant was the bustling hot spot and yet the service was as perfect as always. The four of us each had a different meal and each one of us enjoyed every bite. We started off with a holiday cocktail and some she-crab soup. I ordered the Thai steak salad. It came with toasted slices of lotus root, which upgraded the presentation delightfully. The others in party ate the Ahi Tuna Bowl, Cajun Shrimp Pasta and the NY Strip (served with bone marrow butter, seasonal veggies and garlic mashed potatoes). The whole meal was delicious, as expected, and Burton's did not disappoint. We sat next to the "moss wall" this time. It's very interesting.

    Sooooo good!

Went after doing the walk through on our new home. Knew we couldn't overdo as we had dinner reservations and this place had decent reviews and was close to our hotel. Nice space that is very popular. Our server Presley , was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Couldn't ask for more. I love a Caesar salad, but rarely get them these days because I don't think anyone can make a dressing as good as mine. This was delicious!!!! I asked for the dressing on the side as people tend to way overdress salads these days and I'm glad I did because the dressing was everything I like and so good we used it as a dipping sauce for French fries. Presley informed us you could buy containers of it so I will definitely be back for that! The fries were tasty , but they were cold. Presley did offer to replace, but they tasted good, so we declined. Now to the best part! We had been craving a good burger and the pictures looked great so that's what we had. Usually order medium even though I prefer MR , but I had a feeling they could pull it off so we went for it. Best burger I have eaten in years! Juicy, but the bun held up. Crisp additions. The flavor was incredible. I was sorry we had decided to split everything due to our dinner plans and I coveted my husband's half. He felt the same. So we both protected our plates. lol. Wine was cold and tasty. What I especially liked was the hospitality which I have sorely missed living in Florida. It's nice to be home.

I went here for Sunday brunch. I was celebrating an occasion with a group of friends. Our waitress was so nice and professional. They had a nice variety on the menu. The waffle was more cake-like, but good. The chicken was seasoned good. I didn't like my hash browns. I think mine were cooked a little too long. I would definitely go back. I couldn't try any drinks this time as I was on-call for my job. They have patio seating. We had a great time.

This is the most beautiful Beet salad, not only is it beautiful it is also delicious. A must try.

There was no sauce just cheese, sausage, onion, and perfectly cooked brick oven pizza. The staff were super friendly and didn't make us feel rushed to get in and out. I only noted a small parking area off a very busy street (at least mid-day on Memorial Day) that makes parking challenging. They do have several fans keepin it breezy on the patio, so I opted for that. Turns out I arrived at the "in-between" time (around 3:30): they only serve pizza between 3-4. I wasn't in the mood for pizza, so my server, Sarah, said she'd be back at 4 to take my order. Whelp! 4pm came and went and around 4:06 I asked a hostess to flag her. She appeared and went past my table right over to a couple she knew to spend a minute with them. When she came over to the table there was no, "Hey I'm sorry I was late getting back." Just, "Is it 4 o'clock yet?" Oops it's 4:09!" It wasn't that she was a few minutes late; it was that she went to say hello to friends before she came over to take my order and when she got there, she was very snarky. Guess customer service isn't everyone's thing. The Rigatoni with sausage and fennel ragu came out soon and it was tasty- I thought maybe it would have too much fennel, but not so. Sarah checked on all of the tables around me, but didn't so much as glance my way for about 40 min. The food was fine, but there are too many other options to put up with this kind of service. I won't be back.

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.

Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. The crawfish was cooked well and had great flavor. The only thing we noticed was they were a bit juicy--we think they may not have soaked in the boil as long, which usually helps absorb more flavor. My husband really enjoyed them (this trip was mostly for him!), but they were a little spicy for me. I ended up getting a Caesar salad with fried crawfish tails instead, and it was huge--I only made it through about half. We also got margaritas during happy hour--both were really good. I had the lychee margarita, and my husband got the mango with a Cajun rim. Service was very good--our waiter was attentive and friendly. The only small downside was that we did feel a little rushed. It does say on the menu that they ask guests not to stay longer than 1.5 hours, so just something to keep in mind. They are pet-friendly, and we sat outside. There was plenty of outdoor seating, and the tables had umbrellas, which was nice. The only other thing we weren't thrilled about was the credit card surcharge--it was around 3-3.5%, which feels a bit high, especially since most people don't carry cash anymore.
