    Eggs Benedict
    John T.

Service was great, and overall the meal was satisfying. The goat cheese and olive hash browns were very salty and the sauce overpowered the dish. The monkey bread was rich and delicious as always. The Eggs Benedict was decent, but the ham tasted a bit old and not as fresh as expected. It may have just been an off day, as I've had better food here before.

Fantastic as always. It was nice to go on a weekday. No wait. No crowd. Seated right away. Server brought us waters right away and we started with bloodies! They were a little bit light on the garnishes but delicious nonetheless . And the come with a can of Miller Lite for the chaser. I only ordered the stuffed hash browns and special browns of the day were crab and gouda. They came with chili hollandaise, but I substituted regular hollandaise on the side. My husband had the french toast and sausage, and our son (who was kind enough to treat us to this wonderful breakfast) had the hoppel poppel, which is a scrambler of eggs, bacon, sausage, onions, potatoes and spinach covered in a hollandaise sauce, and toast. He also had a side of the stuffed hash browns, stuffed with pulled ham and cheddar. The day started out strong but then it was afternoon nap time.

Pretty busy location. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. Because our reservation went over a few minutes. They provide us with a sweet treat for the wait which I thought it was very nice. Our breakfast was excellent very tasty and fresh. Lots of customers, the music was settled and the atmosphere was perfect. It made me feel right at home. Definitely will come back again.

Bowl of Rejuvenation with sauce on the side.

August 2025: I went to lunch at Blue's Egg on a Tuesday afternoon with my mom and her dog. It was about 12:45PM and we were seated right away outside. My mom has a walker and we had a stroller for the dog and the hostess was very accommodating- she offered a larger table for us to sit at so we could fit comfortably. Our waitress was very friendly and fast. My mom and I shared the Bowl of Rejuvenation (sauce on the side) and the Turkey Clubhouse with fries. We loved both of the dishes!! The bowl had fresh and healthy veggies, great textures, and we both felt the sauce wasn't necessary. The sauce had a great tomato flavor but we enjoyed the vegetables and farro as they were. The sandwich was also delicious! The bread was toasted and fresh and the house-roasted turkey was great and went perfect with the sun-dried tomato and cranberry spread. At the end of our meal, we ordered a slice of silk pie to go and enjoyed that as well! Overall, our lunch was a 10/10 and we can't wait to go back!

Amazing service for a Saturday morning. Food came out quick and hot. The monkey bread was fluffy and DELICIOUS. The fried chicken sandwich was slightly dry, but otherwise full of flavor. Hashbrowns were 10/10, thick and well seasoned with a crispy top and bottom - highly recommend. The pancakes were fluffy, and taste like your average diner pancake.

I'm glad we made a stop here. The place has a kind of diner feel, definitely a retro vibe they're going for. There's not a ton of tables, but the wait didn't sound like it was very long. Based upon the folks that came in, it sounds like they take reservations or have a wait list you can join before arriving, so that helps cut down on the wait. They also have a counter at which you can sit. They ask that you include all chicken, including infants, in your table size when putting your name in. You can sip on some coffee while you wait for your table; the coffee will be added to your bill after you're seated. The women at the reception were friendly and very helpful as I placed my order, and they gave my kiddo a couple of kids menus and let me take some stickers and crayons for her to keep her occupied whilst waiting. I'll admit that I was a bit annoyed that I had to come here to place an order, and then wait, because they don't put their full menu on their online ordering system. Much of the menu didn't sound like something I'd want to eat (except for maybe the hoppel poppel, minus spinach) but more importantly, I thought they had to have a kids menu--which also wasn't on their online system--since I didn't want to order a big meal for a toddler. So for this inconvenience, they lose a star. I ordered their special browns, the Wisconsin browns, and it was pretty good. I actually can't even remember what all was in it, but I enjoyed it, but just that problem where it wasn't on their online system, ostensibly because it is a special. My favorite thing from here was the monkey bread, which was yummy. They sell two versions, one with bourbon sauce. Although we got two of them, I didn't try the bourbon sauce and I'm not sure it would improve this pastry for me. We also got a couple of the lemon lavender cookies, and those were really really good. I'm not someone who is usually much a fan of lavender but it wasn't so strong that I couldn't eat it. The flavors melded really well and even the next day, when I ate it, it was moist. I would consider going back here. As I said, the staff were nice. But outside the browns and the monkey bread, it's a fairly standard breakfast menu. The browns that were on the menu didn't tickle my fancy and I don't generally head to a restaurant just to order eggs and bacon; I want an omelet I'm craving, or a kind of hotcakes that looks scrumptious. I'm not sure if they have an instagram that they update with specials, but I'd check there to see if something piqued my interest, or if I was in the neighborhood I'd eat here, but might not go out of the way away to do so. There is a lot of parking in the parking lot and it was easy to find a spot on the Saturday morning I came by. I think they also have some outdoor seating, though it wan't particularly warm this day so they may not have been using it.

    Mushroom omelette
    Magda N.

The food were really yummy. I got the mushroom omelette. It came with a huge block of crispy hasbrown and your choice of toast. Chose challah toast by their recommendation, smear the butter and berry jam, so toasty so yummy! The omelette was perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of cheesyness, loaded with mushroom, egg so soft. Can't go wrong with this pick. The hubby got fried chicken sandwich. The bun was soft and perfect for this meal. Chicken juicy and crispy. The sauce gives a nice sweetness. Beware, it's a messy eat. Came with a side of fries, yummy. The portions are huge. The price are like california prices. The staffs were really nice and helpful. For kiddos, they gave out crayons and drawing paper with food images to color. So cute and fun. This restaurant has a lot of capacity. Upon entering, it looks like a normal-smaller-ish diner, but there is more sitting area past the hallway. It's huge. I'm sure they get really busy during weekend brunch.

How could you be disappointed with Blues Egg little bit of a classic diner feel with creative breakfast dishes. We did make a reservation for a Saturday morning since in my experience it can get pretty busy. It was starting to get busy when we arrived, but we were seated right away. Our server, Jose, was fantastic I loved how he grabbed our drink order right away and noted how is was available to discuss options if we were indecisive. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in a little while so we spent some time catching up and were delayed on taking a look at the menu to make our food choice. He moved the the salt shaker to the edge of the table and said move this back when you're ready for me. Saving his time and letting us talk with no interruption, we loved it! The menu has a good selection of options, including some rotating options for daily specials and the rotating Egg Plate of the Month that a portion of sales go to a charity. I got the Guacamole on English and my friend got the Bowl of Rejuvenation. Everything was so delicious and I really liked the hash browns. Our whole experience was great and we would for sure come back!

    Chicken Chorizo Hashbrowns

Brunch Sunday morning? Yes, please! This weekend I tried Blue's Egg with a friend on Sunday. First impressions... the atmosphere was nothing special and dimly lit for a brunchy restaurant but very cozy! I would say the same goes for the food. I thought it was kind of pricey for what we got, but was pretty tasty nonetheless. For example we paid about $10 for a side of chorizo hashbrowns. In the future, maybe I would opt for a French toast or pancake dish. I would like to add that we sat at the counter. The server did a fabulous job of giving us an overview of their menu and also added that anywhere it said toast you could upgrade to French toast. The menu was extensive (but overwhelming). I wish they would have noted this regarding the French toast upgrade on the menu because it was delicious. It's definitely the menu item you HAVE to get if you check out this neighborhood spot. Finally, there was also PLENTY of parking which was very convenient! Overall, a good experience but probably doesn't make my must-try list.

    Blue's Hoppel Poppel w/challah toast
    Jessica R.

I ordered a carry out order and got the Blue's Hoppel Poppel and an iced coffee. When I got there the hostess was great grabbed my order for me right away. The hoppel poppel is scrambled eggs, cream, zesty sausage, bacon, caramelized onions, shredded potatoes, spinach, hollandaise and a side toast - I chose challah. You get a hefty portion and all the flavors work great together - especially the hollandaise sauce on top. I wish there was a bit of spice to balance out the richness of the sauce next time I order I'll see if I can add jalapeños to it. The iced coffee was great and not bitter - I'd order it all again!

Wow, this was a great find! Thank goodness we had reservations, the place was packed when we got there at 10:15 am on a Wednesday morning! It was not too far from the American Family stadium! The food was so delicious and big portion too! My favorite was the monkey bread, the caramel sauce was outstanding! It was pretty noisy because the place was really busy until about 12 noon!

With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.

We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass.
