I had to open a Yelp! account just to write a review about this spa. Buyer beware if you're coming here for a massage. I only tried this place because someone treated me to it. Customer service is pretty atrocious. Good luck getting someone to pick up the phone or call you back. These guys don't get that coming in for a massage often means rest and relaxation, and setting the mood is part of getting into that mode. The ambiance is pretty bad. The "lounge" is nestled in a multifunctional space-- a gift shop, beauty store, and nail salon. For refreshments, they had bite size Snickers. The massage room doubles as an esthetician's room. Massages are carried out on an esthetician's chair. Very uncomfortable to rest your face in a plastic donut hole. Also very difficult to relax or get in the mood for a massage when you're surrounded by facial equipment. The massuer had a difficult time moving around, because the space was cramped. Worse yet...while you're getting your massage, you can hear people talking in the back office, and the same people walking up and down the hall talking to one another. Maybe they should just stick with doing facials, since massage therapy seems to be a passing thought or just a way to make an easy buck on an unsuspecting soul. You're better off paying extra and going to the Raindance Spa at the Lodge. read more

I rarely if ever take the time to write a review, but I just had the HydraFacial Max and feel compelled to shout about it. Often times, a facial - aside from the massage part - feels like something you could do at home. Steam, clean, apply a mask or two. While it's relaxing to have someone else "do the work," the results are hardly noticeable. Not the case with this one! The HydraFacial is a hydra-dermabrasion treatment that starts with lymphatic drainage, cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, hydrates and infuses the skin with antioxidants. It's done with a wand and special tips for each application- something you'd expect to find in a dermatologist's office. The treatment ended with a session of LED light therapy. I can't even remember all the benefits, but it was truly calming. During the light bath, my aesthetician, Tiffany, never left my side. Her hands danced across my face and massaged my arms/hands and lower leg/feet during the light process. I'd just returned from a 5 week overseas work trip and 14 hour plane ride. This facial left my skin visibly rejuvenated - cleansed, soft, plumped, radiant and glowing. When others comment on how good you look after such an exhausting trip, well, it has to be magic. I have been a client of blush almost since they opened 5 years ago and have lived in Sonoma all my life. All of my friends have their brows shaped by D because she is a master with wax and tweezers. I've had both a friend and a cousin have fabulous wedding days beginning with beautiful hair and makeup at blush and JAC. My cousin held a very fun spa day for all the bridesmaids last year and we had an incredible time. Dolores has been doing my brows and facials for years and I've never received more compliments on my skin. I know you can't make everyone happy and anyone can have an off day but some of the negative reviews seem a little transparent as simple bashing and to say that she writes her own reviews is beyond ridiculous. blush is a small, adorable day spa and they treat everyone like they are the most important person to walk through the door. I've seen great reviews in the local media, JAC just won best hair salon in Sonoma/Napa for 2nd time, they were rated 5 star in New Beauty Magazine twice so I doubt they really need to write their own reviews. we set up a spa party for a girls weekend in sonoma. was super easy to set up all the details via email with Dolores as we were all meeting there from 2 different states. came straight from the airport to the spa and let me tell you, it set the tone for a fabulous weekend. everyone was very friendly and the spa small and welcoming. I had a supreme massage and good scrub/wrap. it was 2 hours of heaven! I thought that waiting around for my friends to be done would be a drag but we had a great time chatting & relaxing with champagne. Dolores spent all her down time helping us pick out some great restaurants and wineries to visit the next day, drew us some maps, even got us set up with comps. We closed the place down and Dolores stayed late for us to add on an extra eye brow wax last minute. We enjoyed her company so much we had her join us for dinner. Thanks to all at Blush for setting the tone of our girl weekend to be over-the-top awesome!!! read more

My dear friend and I had an amazing gal spa day yesterday at Blush. It was so incredibly relaxing AND rejuvenating. We both left feeling pampered and recharged. It was perfect for the two of us- it felt really cozy. My skin, my face and my body are all very happy today! The scrub left my skin so soft, it really feels like silk. My face looks radiant! Dolores is very knowledgeable about caring for the skin and face and is very committed to using natural, healthy products. She keeps current on new trends and products and is a great teacher. The LED light was very relaxing and it reduces the redness in my face and made it feel firmer and perkier! Catherine did an amazing scrub and massage, really couldn't have been any better. Using pressure point focus she released some pretty entrenched knots in my body, I felt lighter and looser, yippee! One of the best spa days one can have, I highly recommend it! read more

My sister booked me a bikini wax while I was in town visiting my parents, and as this was my first, I was naturally a little nervous about it. No need to be! As soon as I entered the salon I was greeted by a friendly woman and offered water and cards to keep me entertained for a few minutes. The background music was soothing and there are TONS of organic skincare products to browse for trial or purchase in the lobby. Dolores performed the service, and though waxing is not what I would consider a pleasant experience in general, she was very careful and thorough and had a relaxed demeanor; all which made my experience wonderful. I will definitely go back to her next time in town and I highly recommend Blush to anyone seeking a good wax! My best friend also uses this salon and has had nothing but good things to say about it. OMG! this place is HEAVEN! I have been a spa treatment / salon girl my whole life. I have grown up with a massage therapist and a cosmetologist in my family and I cant tell you how much I love this place. Blush a Day Spa is an unpretentious, adorable, wine-country treat. I get my eyebrows waxed by Dolores, who is the Michelangelo of brows. She has changed my face. I call at the last minute ALL THE TIME, due to events that pop up suddenly, and Dolores ALWAYS accommodates me. Ive gotten several facials and leave looking like a glowing starlet. Dolores and her staff are very sweet, knowledgeable and a real hoot to be around. Not sure what the other negative reviews are about, but lets face it..... people are miserable and feel the need to spread their funk. Blush a Day Spa is wonderful! read more

I feel sorry for other ladies that went to this place and had the same experiences I did. I posted my original review on Spafinder back in 2006 but unfortunately peope are still suffering. So I feel obligated to share my story. I used to be a steady visiter to this spa. The back facial was amazing along with great eyebrows from the owner. Now they have lost clients, stylists, and brides. They continue to "forget" about appointments or show up late. Sonoma is a small town and word of crying brides over ruined makeup and hair travel very fast. The owner is blaming everyone else. If you can ignore the mishaps than visit, if you are a bride stay far far away. We have lots of spas in Sonoma. Don't waste your money or tears here. Don't make the same mistakes I did! read more

Once a year for the past few years my girlfirends and I have taken a girls' weekend in wine country. We've stayed at different houses, hotels and eaten at various restaurants but one stop that we never miss is a spa party at blush. Our first trip here was almost 5 years ago and they hadn't been open that long. The owners moved up from LA where Dolores worked on celebs but this woman is such a beautiful person and so low-key, you'd never know it. She and her husband are adorable and so generous and have just put together the most charming spa with exquisite treatments, products, and the friendliest therapists I've ever met. My mom and I went up to Sonoma to visit old friends, and to indulge ourselves with spa treatments. I set up the appointments using email. They were great getting back to me and making sure that the services we wanted were available. I had an incredible facial from Dolores. It was relaxing and the ambiance was quiet and peaceful. My mom was in the next room also getting a facial. We were both very pleased by the professionalism of the staff, as well as how smooth and soft our faces were. OMG if you are going to Sonoma, Blush Day Spa should be a must on your itinerary! We were going to Sonoma for a weekend and a friend told us about Blush. We called ahead and booked treatments for all four of us on Saturday morning. What a wonderful way to start our day. In fact, we all ended up getting multiple treatments and would have been totally satisfied to spend our entire day there. I had such an amazing massage, I wanted to take my massage therapist home with me to Reno. It started with the papaya body scrub and then a hot stone massage. Just thinking about it now makes me start to drift away to my happy place. My girl friends and I were in town celebrating my birthday and we scheduled a spa party with Blush. Since she relocated to Sonoma it's been truly difficult for me to find anyone who even comes close to her talent...so when I had the chance to go to wine country for the weekend - more important than the first glass of wine was a visit to her spa for her impeccable treatments! What a wonderful find during our visit to Sonoma! The facial I got from Dolores was the best facial I've ever had! My massage from Jenn was amazing!
