First visit to BluPrime and Wow! Excellent experience. I had actually cancelled a previous birthday dinner due to reviews of it being too loud. What a mistake! So I came to Elite Hour on a Friday night during Fiesta to see the real deal. Long story short it was Not Loud. I'm over 50, and don't like loud restaurants and it was fine. Great in fact. There was a young lady with a soft beautiful voice at the piano and she was sangin' lol. She could sing the yellow pages. Conversation was easy against her soft background music in the bar. My other favorite thing was the staff. "J" and Vince/Vic the bartenders were attentive, funny and friendly. And the cocktails were delicious. Even the hostess desk staff were warm and friendly. This was huge because I'm so sick of snotty staff at fancy restaurants. Their sweet, accommodating demeanor was so refreshing. Visited for blü prime's elite hour for the first time and it was wonderful. The restaurant itself has a beautiful interior and was very clean. They seem to have seating for all group sizes including private rooms. Our server Griselda was wonderful and seemed to know what we wanted before we even asked lol. The other staff was also so kind and helpful they all checked in frequently but not so much that it was overbearing. We had a wonderful time with delicious food, music, and service. On 5.5 which is my fiancés birthday, I made reservations here for a dinner date. This was both our very first time being here. I want to begin with saying the location is awesome. Now walking into this restaurant, I was extremely impressed by the ambiance and decorum. The dress code is strictly enforced which I think is great because it's set up for a great spot for a date night. The hostess was on the phone when we first walked in so we did have to wait a fe minutes to be greeted, however he was really nice so I'm not complaining. Once seated we were greeted quite quickly by our server Griselda who was really nice. Then the complimentary bread was brought out, it was good but I'm not huge on bread so I only tasted a piece for sake of this review. We did go during the elite happy hour so the menu was a slightly different from the dinner menu but they gave us the option to look at the filler menu if we wanted to. From the elite happy hour menu we ordered Spicy guava cocktail and express martini both were really great. Unfortunately I took no pictures but what we ordered was the crab cake, lamb lollipops, pork belly, bone marrow and prawns. Of all these dishes the two best ones were the lamb and the pork belly. The crab cake was okay but way better when eaten together with the kale, and chili sauce. I believe it was the manager who came out to greet us and asked if we were good, she was really polite. What I enjoyed to the most was how all servers were very attentive to removing dishes on the table and simply asking if there was anything we needed. If you have been here, it's a must!! One of my friends sent me an Instagram showing a video of their Pork Belly appetizer. I love that dish and had never seen one quite like the one I viewed on Instagram. So we booked and went in. It was supremely tender flavorful and the chef prepared it with a glaze that had a hint of heat. WOW Very upscale, trendy background music and a bar/restaurant that looks like what you might see in a movie. It is difficult to find a gourmet, CONSISTENTLY excellent restaurant in San Antonio. You can always find something expensive (Ruth Chris, etc etc etc) but it's difficult to find a high end restaurant that has ALL of the things needed to rise well above the norm. They are titled as a steak house, but they have seafood, pasta and traditional dishes like Oyster Rockafeller and so much more We've been back 3 times (as of last night). Their chefs have a menu that is amazing. They have an Elite hour (happy hour) between 4pm to 6:30 pm with music beginning at the 6pm hour. they have a dress code, and children below 12 are not allowed. If you want to just try it out, I recommend the Elite hour time frame, you sit in a beautiful bar area (booths, tables etc) and the prices are a fraction of what you will see on the traditional dinner menu seated in areas outside of the bar area. you can receive small plates and portions at incredible prices. Once you've tasted and become a convert do your next visit on the restaurant side for a wider selection. Frankly, we would pay whatever price they want for food this incredible. I went there with my father in law and wife last night (4 Feb 26). The food was good. Tasty, well presented, all in all worth the price. The service was good. Attentive, prompt, elegant, friendly. ... but the overall experience was still bad, and here's why: 1) This place is SOOOOPER loud. about 1/2 the interior space is a bar, and for some reason they think the bar needs to be loud, so the entire restaurant was filled with pounding noise that we couldn't even hear each other over. At one point I asked for it to be turned down, and it got *louder*, if you can believe it. 2) Menus, some utensils and water glasses were dirty. My menu had sticky gunk on the front, my fork and my water glass had lipstick on them. Nice. 3) Bathroom looked like someone had hosed it down and failed to wipe up. Water everywhere: floor, counter, on the toilet. I'm like, WTH; don't you guys check your bathrooms? So there you go. I mean, San Antonio is a big city with a ton of elegant restaurants; places where the bathrooms are clean, the flatware doesn't have lipstick on it and you can actually hear yourself think. My wife and I came here for a fun date night and were blown away from start to finish. The experience began with complimentary valet, who were not only friendly but opened both of our doors and even the restaurant door for us. Inside, the hostess greeted us warmly, confirmed our reservation, and seated us promptly in a cozy, secluded booth for two that made the night feel extra personal. Our server was fantastic, explaining the specials and asking if we had any allergies, which we truly appreciated. The food and drinks were excellent. The house bread with salt and honey on top was addicting. Drinks were spot on, with a perfectly made French 75 and a refreshing mocktail, the Tamarind Delight (tamarind, strawberry, mango, lime, saline, and Seedlip). Both were excellent. We started with the Caesar salad, which was crisp, flavorful, and delicious. For mains, the 12oz filet mignon and 16oz center cut New York strip were both seared and seasoned perfectly. The filet, cooked medium-well, was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a beautiful peppercorn seasoning. The strip leaned a little more toward medium-well than medium, but was still packed with flavor and cooked wonderfully. The blackened jumbo prawns with lemon were the perfect enhancement. For sides, the steak fries could have used a little more salt and crisp, but were still tasty. The Brussels sprouts, however, stole the show with their crispy texture and the flavorful orange gastrique sauce. Between the welcoming service, outstanding food, and refined atmosphere, this was one of the best steakhouse experiences we have had in San Antonio. We will definitely be back for more. read more

An amazing dining experience from the time you enter to the time you are warmly greeted on your way out. I have to first say our dinner was truly elevated because of Matthew our waiter. To share why; in my 50 years plus of suffering hearing loss, NO WAITER has ever done this...Matthew came over to me and mentioned he saw my hearing aids and took extra effort to make sure I was able to understand the explanations of the evenings specials. His attention to detail carried on through the evening to ensure we had the best dining experience possible. The other wait staff; water servers, removing plates etc. were just as efficient. We never had to ask for anything, like magic, there they were. Onto the food. We had 4 in our party, celebrating a special occasion. We stared with appetizers of Ceviche and roasted pork belly. Both were fantastic and recommended. That followed with the lobster bisque, which I can honestly say was the best I've had in recent memory. It was filled with large chunks of lobster meat and a wonderfully savory base. Three of us had for a main course the Agnolotti, which were wonderfully full of lump crab and cheese. The other member of our party had a dry aged, Australian Rib Eye which he raved about. Allen Lee, the Chef came out to our table to check on our dinner! I ordered the filet mignon, broccolini, and twice baked potato. My bf ordered the HH burger. My friends ordered the crabcakes and the steak fries. My steak was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. This was probably the best filet mignon I've had in San Antonio. I was extremely happy with the food we ordered.My bf enjoyed his burger. My friend stated the lamb chops & steak fries were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed everything. The manager also came over and asked if we wanted to take a picture in the wine room with the really cool ceiling, which was a nice touch. They also gave me a happy birthday card, cake, and a postcard that I could mail out to a friend which I did. The atmosphere was calm and it wasn't too busy. We visited this establishment last night on a slow night and the ambiance was great. I love the atmosphere and lay out of the restaurant. It is more modern but still a romantic and intimate setting. Getting into the service, our server was Blake and he was great. I would say tat he was overly friendly but in a pleasant way. My partner ordered the porkchop that comes with a puree underneath it. That puree matched perfectly with the flavor I wanted from the Salmon so I ordered a bit of my own. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese that was just ok. It had a distinct cheese flavor on it that I enjoyed but it was liquidity/ soupy and I prefer more solid mac & cheese. Their birthday dessert is a chocolate ganache cake... BEST THING I ATE ALL NIGHT. I had to hold back from finishing it at the table because it was so light and delicious. I would consider myself a steak connoisseur lol. I love filet mignon and have been to every steakhouse in Houston, San Antonio, and any other city I visit I always go to a steakhouse. That being said, the Chateaubriand was absolutely incredible here. I truly was not expecting it to be that good. My husband prefers ribeyes and even he was blown away. The service was excellent, from the hostess to the wait staff to the sommelier. A friend and I split the scallops appetizer and button mushrooms, and each ordered a salad and a ribeye. The scallops were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and absolutely delicious. The mushrooms were tasty, too. My wedge salad was different than I imagined or had seen - it was carefully crafted, beautiful, and delectable! The steaks were good meat, but dubiously cooked; we both ordered the same size and cut, medium rare. However, my friend's steak came out decidedly rare, while mine was medium-well. The manager noticed my puzzled look, and came over to investigate. He immediately ordered a replacement steak for me, despite my declination, and had my first steak boxed to go. Came here for a Drug Rep dinner. Heard all the energy behind the opening of this place. Great time to try. It is located next to Eddie Vs and Cover 3 off 1604 and has ample parking in a garage next door. The place has a very modern vibe with the dim blue lights and galley fill. Nicely arranged tables and three private dining areas with TV screen for presentations. Upon arrival I was greeted by the hostesses and escorted to the room. Ordered a glass of house Pinot Noir (Erath) and received it in about 15 minutes. Ordered a Cesar salad, NY Strip, and the chocolate mouse cake. The salad was pretty good with buttery croutons and not too heavy on the dressing. The steak and sides ( macaroni and cheese, asparagus, and mushrooms) came out after about 20 Minutes. The steak was cooked a perfect medium and was pretty well seasoned through. The macaroni and cheese was good but was not as cheesy and I hoped and had capers in it. The mushrooms were great ( seasoned and not over cooked). I do not care for asparagus so I did not try and cannot comment. Overall the food was good but the service was lacking as I asked for to go and my desert to go and it took a while.
