After a very long and exhausting weekend, my husband told me get dressed and let's go have dinner. We like staying in the area and checked out who had a good happy hour menu and we were about to do the usual when we decided to try Blü instead. Though my husband was dressed nice he was wearing a fashion baseball style cap and they asked him to please remove it as it is not allowed, I honestly love and appreciate that they adhere to a dress code! We were seated at a nice cozy, two seater table right by the bar and were instantly greeted by a young man that came to serve us water and let us know that our server would be out soon. Shortly after Celeste came and introduced herself and went over some of the more popular items on the menu with us. She was such an amazing server that anytime we go back, we are definitely going to ask to be in her section! Everything she recommended was an absolute must! We also had the pleasure of meeting the chef for a brief moment and swapped out one of our items for his recommendation, the pork belly. First, let's talk about the presentation. We ordered a lot of items off of the elite menu, which to be honest, far exceeds a happy hour menu. The selection of drinks, mocktails, and food items are some of the absolute best we have seen anywhere. Since we ordered a lot of items, they brought it out to us on a long flight board presented beautifully. But let me back up for a minute, before our food came out, Celeste brought us hot and fresh out of the oven potato rolls that were absolutely perfect. They had a slight sweetness with a savory butter and they just melt in your mouth, they are so soft! So for food items, we ordered the following: *Jumbo prawns - blackened two perfection, perfectly salted and chefs kiss with a squeeze of lemon, 10/10 *4 oz filet mignon - I don't even like filet mignon because I don't feel it is anything special but this one was seasoned to perfection and cut like butter 10/10 *Prime sliders - these were excellent, caramelized onion on a soft and gently toasted brioche bun, and they brought us ketchup and Dijon mustard 9/10 *Steak fries - we ordered these without the aïoli and they finished them off in the oven and dusted with Parmesan cheese, they were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and perfectly seasoned 10/10 *Spaghettini pasta - on the surface nothing about this looks or sounds special, but Celeste assured us that it was so we took our chances. It has got to be some of the best pasta I have ever eaten in my life. The texture and the flavors were amazing, whatever that sauce is, it is absolutely heaven sent! 10/10 *Pork belly - I really wanted to love this, but for me, I would have preferred that fat to be a bit more crispy. The flavor was delicious and the pork was super tender, I just prefer my animal fat to have more crunch. 8/10 *Chocolate cake - again, this came with high recommendation from Celeste, and I'm so glad we listened to her. This was such a light chocolate cake, and it was not too sweet. It had a whipped filling and a ganache topping. It was nostalgic, took me back to the 90s when I used to live off of Swiss rolls all summer. 10/10 *Old-fashioned- for nine dollars, this is truly one of the most amazing old-fashioned I've ever had. The flavor is perfect and it is really strong, I had mine made with bourbon, but you could also go with rye. With all of that, our total bill was $103 before tip. Truly cannot beat that with the quality of food, amazing service, and beautiful ambience. I've been here a great number of times and keep coming back for a few specific reasons. It's popular for work and business dinners, as many steakhouses are, but in my honest opinion, it's nowhere close to the best place to eat in San Antonio. I specifically come for the bar, which is truly exceptional. The elevated craft cocktails are amazing, and a few bites are also worth ordering. I'd recommend the bone marrow, pork belly, and Caesar salad. The interior design is another standout. it has a unique and special atmosphere. My wife and I attended a company dinner here. All together there were about 20 people attending dinner and this was our first time here. The organizer ordered appetizers which consisted of Bone Marrow, Tuna Poké, Oysters, Pork Belly and Lamb Lollipops. I tried the Poké and Lamb along with the warm bread the brought to the table with compound butter. So far everything was very delicious. I did order their Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned which was smooth and refreshing. For dinner I porder the 16oz NY Strip steak medium rare with Broiled Mushrooms, my wife ordered the Filet Mignon with Bearnaise sauce and the Grilled Asparagus. For Dessert we split the Berry Cheesecake. Everything from the food and service was great, exactly as you expect fron a high end restaurant. Everything was delicious and perfect. Visited for blü prime's elite hour for the first time and it was wonderful. The restaurant itself has a beautiful interior and was very clean. They seem to have seating for all group sizes including private rooms. Our server Griselda was wonderful and seemed to know what we wanted before we even asked lol. We had our pre valentine dinner here. We heard about the vibe and was here for it. We walked in and the atmosphere was giving! They had a valentine set up. They had the pianist playing and singing jams. Our waitress was awesome. She gave recommendations and educated us. The drinks were strong! The managers wete on the floor assisting us. The mignon originally came out over cooked and I didn't care for my porkchop. They were soooo apologetic and fixed and changed our meals with no questions. They even comped us drinks. First visit to BluPrime and Wow! Excellent experience. I had actually cancelled a previous birthday dinner due to reviews of it being too loud. What a mistake! So I came to Elite Hour on a Friday night during Fiesta to see the real deal. Long story short it was Not Loud. I'm over 50, and don't like loud restaurants and it was fine. Great in fact. There was a young lady with a soft beautiful voice at the piano and she was sangin' lol. She could sing the yellow pages. Conversation was easy against her soft background music in the bar. My other favorite thing was the staff. "J" and Vince/Vic the bartenders were attentive, funny and friendly. And the cocktails were delicious. Even the hostess desk staff were warm and friendly. This was huge because I'm so sick of snotty staff at fancy restaurants. Their sweet, accommodating demeanor was so refreshing. One of my friends sent me an Instagram showing a video of their Pork Belly appetizer. I love that dish and had never seen one quite like the one I viewed on Instagram. So we booked and went in. It was supremely tender flavorful and the chef prepared it with a glaze that had a hint of heat. WOW Very upscale, trendy background music and a bar/restaurant that looks like what you might see in a movie. It is difficult to find a gourmet, CONSISTENTLY excellent restaurant in San Antonio. You can always find something expensive (Ruth Chris, etc etc etc) but it's difficult to find a high end restaurant that has ALL of the things needed to rise well above the norm. They are titled as a steak house, but they have seafood, pasta and traditional dishes like Oyster Rockafeller and so much more We've been back 3 times (as of last night). Their chefs have a menu that is amazing. They have an Elite hour (happy hour) between 4pm to 6:30 pm with music beginning at the 6pm hour. they have a dress code, and children below 12 are not allowed. If you want to just try it out, I recommend the Elite hour time frame, you sit in a beautiful bar area (booths, tables etc) and the prices are a fraction of what you will see on the traditional dinner menu seated in areas outside of the bar area. you can receive small plates and portions at incredible prices. Once you've tasted and become a convert do your next visit on the restaurant side for a wider selection. Frankly, we would pay whatever price they want for food this incredible. Ambiance, food, service are all among the finest we've seen anywhere world wide. read more

On 5.5 which is my fiancés birthday, I made reservations here for a dinner date. This was both our very first time being here. I want to begin with saying the location is awesome. Now walking into this restaurant, I was extremely impressed by the ambiance and decorum. The dress code is strictly enforced which I think is great because it's set up for a great spot for a date night. The hostess was on the phone when we first walked in so we did have to wait a fe minutes to be greeted, however he was really nice so I'm not complaining. Once seated we were greeted quite quickly by our server Griselda who was really nice. Then the complimentary bread was brought out, it was good but I'm not huge on bread so I only tasted a piece for sake of this review. We did go during the elite happy hour so the menu was a slightly different from the dinner menu but they gave us the option to look at the filler menu if we wanted to. From the elite happy hour menu we ordered Spicy guava cocktail and express martini both were really great. Unfortunately I took no pictures but what we ordered was the crab cake, lamb lollipops, pork belly, bone marrow and prawns. Of all these dishes the two best ones were the lamb and the pork belly. The crab cake was okay but way better when eaten together with the kale, and chili sauce. I believe it was the manager who came out to greet us and asked if we were good, she was really polite. What I enjoyed to the most was how all servers were very attentive to removing dishes on the table and simply asking if there was anything we needed. If you have been here, it's a must!! I went there with my father in law and wife last night (4 Feb 26). The food was good. Tasty, well presented, all in all worth the price. The service was good. Attentive, prompt, elegant, friendly. ... but the overall experience was still bad, and here's why: 1) This place is SOOOOPER loud. about 1/2 the interior space is a bar, and for some reason they think the bar needs to be loud, so the entire restaurant was filled with pounding noise that we couldn't even hear each other over. At one point I asked for it to be turned down, and it got *louder*, if you can believe it. 2) Menus, some utensils and water glasses were dirty. My menu had sticky gunk on the front, my fork and my water glass had lipstick on them. Nice. 3) Bathroom looked like someone had hosed it down and failed to wipe up. Water everywhere: floor, counter, on the toilet. I'm like, WTH; don't you guys check your bathrooms? So there you go. I mean, San Antonio is a big city with a ton of elegant restaurants; places where the bathrooms are clean, the flatware doesn't have lipstick on it and you can actually hear yourself think. The food was incredible--lamb lollipops, a 16oz ribeye (shared for us in the back), creamy lobster mac and cheese, and flavorful Brussels sprouts. Ethan, our waiter, deserves special praise for elevating our experience. He was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in making the evening memorable. He suggested two red wines to pair with our meal, and after sampling both, I went with his top pick--the Belle Glos. It was phenomenal, so much so that I ordered a bottle to take home! My partner had the Black Panther cocktail, which was complex, smooth, and equally impressive. We ended our night with two Carajillos, which were a whole experience on their own. Hands down, they were the tastiest we've ever had and paired perfectly with the anniversary cake. The attention to detail at BLÜ Prime is unmatched. The experience began with complimentary valet, who were not only friendly but opened both of our doors and even the restaurant door for us. Our server was fantastic, explaining the specials and asking if we had any allergies, which we truly appreciated. The food and drinks were excellent. The house bread with salt and honey on top was addicting. Drinks were spot on, with a perfectly made French 75 and a refreshing mocktail, the Tamarind Delight (tamarind, strawberry, mango, lime, saline, and Seedlip). Both were excellent. We started with the Caesar salad, which was crisp, flavorful, and delicious. For mains, the 12oz filet mignon and 16oz center cut New York strip were both seared and seasoned perfectly. The filet, cooked medium-well, was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a beautiful peppercorn seasoning. The strip leaned a little more toward medium-well than medium, but was still packed with flavor and cooked wonderfully. The blackened jumbo prawns with lemon were the perfect enhancement. For sides, the steak fries could have used a little more salt and crisp, but were still tasty. The Brussels sprouts, however, stole the show with their crispy texture and the flavorful orange gastrique sauce. Between the welcoming service, outstanding food, and refined atmosphere, this was one of the best steakhouse experiences we have had in San Antonio. We will definitely be back for more. read more

We never had to ask for anything, like magic, there they were. Onto the food. We had 4 in our party, celebrating a special occasion. We stared with appetizers of Ceviche and roasted pork belly. Both were fantastic and recommended. That followed with the lobster bisque, which I can honestly say was the best I've had in recent memory. It was filled with large chunks of lobster meat and a wonderfully savory base. Three of us had for a main course the Agnolotti, which were wonderfully full of lump crab and cheese.
