Note: it's a double decker dining experience- Nonna Osteria restaurant sits on the bottom level or take the indoor elevator up to dine at Silo Elevated Cuisine and Bar. We were immediately seated and Jamie, our server was friendly and attentive. Actually the entire staff was excellent. We opted for the prix fix luncheon menu - so worth it! Your choice of main with salad or dessert orrrrrrr for +$3 you get all 3! Our server asked us if we wanted bread, and we said yes. The complimentary breads were nice and warm- a mixture of freshly made white and a dried fruit nut bread. The dark bread with dried fruit/nuts was my fave and highly addictive lol Ordered : Baby spinach salad with Brie on the side- fresh spinach drizzled with a light vinaigrette and sprinkled with pieces of dried fruit and bacon. The breaded/fried Brie was ooey gooey goodness. Hubby had the Classic Caesar and he enjoyed it. Both salads were decent large bowl portions. Grilled miso glazed Atlantic salmon- fresh, earthy, healthy, and delicious! A good piece of salmon cooked to perfection in a mild miso glaze and topped with an avocado relish. Everything (the quinoa, toasted cashews, grilled bok choy, and salmon) paired and blended so well together. Pure delish. I was completely full afterwards, but hubby had some space for dessert. Choices for dessert were limited to 3 - crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, or toasted coconut mousse pie. We chose the dark chocolate mousse- absolutely beautiful! Dark chocolate was sinfully good, cocoa nibs added a slightly crunch, and the berries were fresh and plump. We were happily stuffed. Service was excellent and food delicious. As soon as I walked out of the elevators and into the restaurant this afternoon, it was very sterile, white, bright and luxurious. We were greeted immediately by staff who led us to our dining area. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken breast, which was served with sautéed spinach and andouille sausage with jambalaya. The presentation of my dish was beautiful. My chicken was breaded and tender, cooked perfectly and placed on top of a savory cream sauce. The spinach was perfectly sautéed and tender,lightly seasoned, and my jambalaya perfectly made with the right amount of spice and kick! I can't wait to go back and try another dish! read more

Absolutely amazing! I was here with some family from out of town for a dinner on a Monday night. We had a reservation and were seated as we arrived. The interior is kept very clean and the tables were set in advance for our party number. As for the food, it was PHENOMENAL! We were able to take advantage of the Monday 50% off wine special, which is a steal for a good bottle of wine. The server was friendly and was able to quickly ask around to find answers to all of our questions. I ordered the salmon-dairy free. It was possibly the best salmon dish I have tried to date. A friend of mine was celebrating her birthday recently and chose Silo as her destination of choice for a fancy dinner night. While I've visited the downtown Silo Prime location and the Alamo Heights Silo location previously, this was my first time at the 1604 location. It didn't disappoint! For my entree I went with the braised Korabuta pork shank and my friend the roasted duck breast & confit leg. The pork was absolutely delicious and the meat was so tender that with just a little nudge it would completely fall off the bone. It was incredibly tender and moist and the addition of the generous dollop of goat cheese on top combined with the dish's sauce were a perfect flavor combination. The duck was good - but compared to the pork shank it couldn't compete. Despite being completely stuffed, we had to end the evening with a sweet treat and opted for the chocolate torte. Another delicious choice but I could only have two bites. Service was excellent and the ambiance lovely. It was a perfect place to celebrate another trip around the sun. I wanted to take my wife to a special dinner and Silo Elevated Cuisine (on the second floor, hence Elevated) is very impressive looking with an elegant interior design, comfortable chairs and atmosphere. So this is where I took here. We started our meal adventure with an amazing carrot soup. The top restaurant make their soups in house and this soup was very special. What a great way to start our meal. It may sound simple but their soup was so rich and creamy with a hint of sweetness and complex flavors. Take my advice and try what ever they are making that night. She had grilled shrimp and I had a wonderful NY strip steak with a side of asparagus. My wife loves shrimp, if you read my other reviews you will see she gets them a lot. The shrimp dish came with spinach and something else. Other items, like my steak, are a-la-cart. My steak was fantastic! I eat every single little bite. I could not wait and took a big piece before I snapped a photo. I do that a lot. I did not try and of my wife's meal because I was enjoying my food so much. Don't forget about the asparagus, these big thick stocks were so tender, I was totally taken by surprise. Do you see all the butter on top? Silo knows what they are doing and has elevated the flavor of their cuisine. Oh I see the double meaning in the name here. There were a lot of side both of us were interested in. Next time I think we will get a very big steak with several sides, then share everything, I think it will be fun and romantic. I celebrated a milestone birthday here with friends. I reserved the smallest party space and absolutely enjoyed the evening. The room was dimly lit and had a beautiful chandelier which added to the ambience. A friend of mine decorated the table in a fall theme, which just took on the vibe of the room. There was soothing jazz, music piped in which really made the evening quite elegant. The wait service was impeccable! The food was delicious. I highly recommend the wedge salad. The addition of the hard boiled egg and french fried onions gave it a special touch. If you enjoy a good cocktail, their Old-Fashioned is dynamite. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Out of the appetizers I would recommend the wedge salad and thats it. If you are coming here for drinks and dessert you are in luck. The Tijuana lady was delicious, the cucumber martini was a second best. The chocolate tart was perfection, coconut pie was also great. I wasn't a fan of the cheesecake but other's in my party enjoyed it. The server messed up our meal quite a bit, forgetting to input items and inputting the wrong items. This was our second time here and again the food and service was great. I started with the Tijuana Lady to drink, which was refreshing. I started dinner with the Baby Wedge Salad which was very delicious and I appreciated the fact that the blue cheese crumble was not over powering. For my entrée I had the Chicken Fried Oyster, which is very good and a perfect portion. For dessert I selected the Citrus Cheesecake. Dad had a Sprite, I had the Luxardo Whiskey Sour, and my husband had Pine Ridge. We had the Duck Spring Rolls as an appetizer. Love the sauce! Dad and I shared the Sea Bass and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. My husband had the Scallops, and I ate half of one. They were the largest scallops I've ever seen! Another great meal at Silo. Shirley took great care of us. Celebrating Father's Day early to avoid the crowds. They do provide a nice pour on wines. I started with a baby wedge salad. I told Shirley they need to rename it the "Baby Huey" salad. They use flavorful baby iceberg lettuce heads and it's a lot of salad. Ranch dressing was balanced with blue cheese. My wife had the Caesar salad, which is always good. For my entree I had the daily seafood special which was a nice size piece of halibut. It had crab meat on top and haricot green beans on the side. The fish was moist and flaky and the green beans al dente, just like I like. There was orecchiette (ear) pasta under the fish with a pesto cream sauce. I asked for lemon to add an acidic component. My wife had the fried oysters, which are her longtime Silo favorite. It was a lot of food. Her dish came with angel hair pasta and sauteed spinach. Wonderful experience! We visited to celebrate a birthday and were met with great service and food! Especially thanks to our waiter Blake. They have a great wine list with feature cocktails. The food is always fresh abd the service is awesome. The elevator to the 2nd floor dining area makes you feel like you're going to an exclusive private dining that you have to know someone to get in. Well if you have a chance to celebrate Easter at Silo I would definitely come on by. They offered a special set menu and it included 2 kids plates as well. So, we got all dolled up and brought the kids for Easter brunch and I am so happy we did. It was their first dinner at quote "the fanciest restaurant ever!". As always amazing and attentive service in a beautifully decorated restaurant. The kids loved their chicken tenders, fries and fruit. They also enjoyed the fresh cheese and nut bread. I enjoyed my pork chop with polenta and my better half enjoyed his sirloin. A beautiful cook on everything, and delicious flavors. It was a great opportunity and I'm so glad we seized it. You can never go wrong with Silo Elevated Cuisine. Ever. Yes, the menu remains the same, for the most part (see my previous review), but everything is always on point. This is the only place I order lamb chops, for example. At some restaurants, the lamb is too gamy, or the paired sides don't really work. Not here (but hey, it's practically been the same formula since... forever). Don't be ashamed to nibble those bones- the best part! Seriously though, everything is delicious. Always. DH loves the pork paired with the green chili mac and cheese. Last night, we shared an add-on lobster tail that was prepared perfectly. Get dessert and, if you like coconut, get the coconut cream pie. Not traditional, but light and creamy and delicious. Service is consistently fantastic. Attentive but not smothering. It's a great place for a date night or just a solid delicious meal, no special occasion needed. Beautiful yet simply decorated, dressing up works but so does business casual. We've been dining here for the better part of about 15 years, maybe more, and a lot of the same staff and servers are still there. You rarely see that. Came here with my work team for our holiday lunch. Had been here a long time ago when downstairs was their bar/waiting area for birthday drinks. Never eaten, so was excited to have lunch at this place. We were sat in the little private room upstairs and started with crab cakes and calamari for appetizers. Since it was a cool day, I decided to go with the Butternut Squash soup with pistachios for a little crunch. All of these good, but I was hoping to get the Sea Bass for my entrée. They did not have this on the lunch menu, but they did have a flounder special that was calling my name. This blackened dish had some heat, but the potatoes tamed it with the string beans. 2 years later and I am happy to report that Silo's is still delicious! My husband and I were having a terrible day and we just wanted to treat our selves to a fancy dinner. As soon as we walked in, the host greeted us and even gave me a compliment. Flatter definitely works on me hahah! Our server this time was Charlotte. She was on top of everything. We worried about nothing! She made the specials sound so tasty that we ordered 2 out of the three she suggested! The crab bisque was freaking fantastic! I ordered the scallops again to see if they were still yummy. Yes. The answer is yes. My husband ordered the lamb and he loved it! I'd give Silo 6 stars if I could! I made reservations for me and my wife's Anniversary. We arrive about 10 minuets early, there were a few people waiting in the lobby, we gave the young lady our name and she got the elevator for us and sent us up. We arrived up top to be greeted by another young lady who sat us down. And not 15 seconds later Katie our server rolled up and brought us water, and asked us for our drink order and app order. The drinks came out quickly, and wow were they good! Soon after the apps arrived, Foie Gras something I've never had before and wow it was delicious, we also had the Duck Eggrolls, so crispy and flavorful and the dip was bright and crisp! Katie cleared our table and brought us all new silverware and plates, with some warm bread and butter! Soon after the entree's arrived we both got fish, my wife the Chilean Sea Bass and me the Halibut! Both were so good, fresh tasting, and perfectly cooked. After that we boldly decided to get a dessert, already stuffed to the brim we got the Vanilla Crème Brulee! It has a great hard candy shell and sweet creamy filling with fresh fruit!!
