To start with, I love BMW's and that is the sole reason that I leased 5 cars from BMW Santa Maria. I must say the company has gone spiraling down hill for a few years; their ability to satisfy their customers is what has changed the most. You would think with a returning customer such as myself, they would agree that two (2) yes, two bad tires are not the fault of the customers, yet in each incident they took No responsibility. They went as far as to say if I got a report from an additional tire shop they would honor their report. Well, I can tell you there is no honor here...I still have the report from the other tire shop stating it was a faulty tire. I gave a copy to BMW Santa Maria and they fabricated reasons they felt their tire was not faulty. Needless to say... No, I would not recommend BMW Santa Maria to anyone. read more

He was very patient with me and answered all of the questions that I had come up with, all in a quick and timely manner whether it was through calls or emails. I'm actually about 3 hours away from BMW of Santa Maria so I never even set foot on the dealership itself. With Shelden's excellent service, we were able to complete the whole deal mostly through email and calls. He was willing to work with me and be flexible with my busy work schedule, responding to me even during off hours. He even arranged one of his driver's to personally deliver my car to my home. Buying a 40,000 dollar bmw off the internet from 250 miles away may be a little scary for some folks. I was very impressed with the honesty and low pressure approach Christian and Sheldon showed. I was introduced the Internet Sales Manager, Shelden, from an outside leasing company. Shelden made the entire process of leasing a new car seamless. I live in LA, 3 hours away, but Shelden found the exact car my wife wanted, and took care of ending her current lease early. Did this all with a few emails and phone calls. They delivered the new car, picked up the old the one, and it was the easiest transaction ever. He even set up a time to walk me through the car over FaceTime. The problem with writing this review of Santa Maria BMW is that there aren't enough stars. Five stars does not measure up to how strongly I feel about the years of positive experience I have had at this dealership. We've had four BMWs serviced at Santa Maria BMW over the past 12 years. The current two BMWs were purchased there; the first two were purchased in 2001 at the "other" dealership much closer to our home. There is no comparison between the dealerships for either sales or service. I believe that this dealership is a model for customer respect, a positive, service-oriented attitude and professionalism in every aspect. After 12 years with a perfect track record for excellence, I recommend Santa Maria BMW in all sincerity and with no reservations. read more

If I can give this place a 0 stars I would. This place has the absolute worst customer service and communication skills. I purchased a 2015 bmw 328i about 9 months ago and until this day it has been in there shop more than 8 times . These people will keep giving you the run around over and over and will always have excuses for things not getting done. I would never recommend this place to anyone, it all started with a simple front license plate bracket that they said they had to order and that it will come in about a week then I called them 2 weeks later and when I get there to receive the license plate frame one of the workers pulled one off another car just to put it on my car acting like it just came in . Then the license plate issues, I went 2 months without any license plates then I call the dealer and they give me the run around saying sorry we will issue you new plates and another month goes by and then I finally get my new plates. And from there the endless stops to the shop started. Next my check engine light comes on after the car being driven 400 miles after I purchased it, come to find out I need a new computer in the car so they replaced it and I need to go back a week later to replace a sensor on another check engine light that popped up. After that another check engine light goes off, they told me I needed an oil change . I get it done go in my car and the check engine light is still on and they say they forgot to reset it .These people will promise you things and will not go through with there promises. There are still other things to say they didn't do and what happened to the car ,but then the worst part is, I call and talk to the owner of the place and he just basically says he's sorry and that service department will take care of you which they didn't again and again I will never ever go back there again. This place treats you like it's your responsibility to hold their hand and tell them how to do their jobs. read more

I've bought cars in the past from this dealership and they were fair. NO longer can I say that. First, they do not sell certified BMWs. Can you name one other BMW dealership that does not certify their used cars? I can't. I went to Ventura to buy my 2014 7 series and Beverly Hills for my 2014 5 series. Plus, SM BMW will say anything to lure you in. Even worse, they want to charge extra to do their own brand of certification.Why would I pay a few thousand more because they choose not to certify thru BMW? Both the cars I bought elsewhere for better prices and superior customer service. I don't care if they are in my neighborhood. Never again. read more

I recently had a car serviced at this dealership and I'd start by just saying WOW This is what I call Customer Service! When I drove into the Service Department I was immediately greeted by a Service Adviser who welcomed me by name (an honest welcome not a canned response). He inspected the issue on my 2013 X3 and immediately said it would be made right. It just got better from there. The adviser wrote up the information and got me on my way in a very sharp BMW 328i M-Sport loaner car! Yeah you read that right a 328i M-Sport loaner. Well after driving that car I decided I needed a new car but I'll leave that for my next review. If you need your BMW or VW serviced do yourself a HUGE favor and make straight for Santa Maria BMW! Trust me you'll drive and hour from SB but boy will you be glad you did! In contrast to SB BMW there is no comparisons Santa Maria is way better. If I could give them 6 stars I would. By the way, there's a perfectly repaired and only slightly used X3 for sale there. Unlike other local dealers, Santa Maria BMW prides themselves on outstanding customer service (not quotas) and they have consistently come through on that every time I have visited them. Won't stand behind their work. They re painted a small area on the front grill area. It peeled off within 6 months. They refused to re paint their own flawed work. They would not return calls and basically blew me off. BTW, I paid them over $100,000 for the car. It was the fifth car I had purchased at their dealership. Never again. read more

Beware! Had them mess up vital work on my 2007 335i, 3 times in a row! Terrible terrible work. Don't get me wrong Abe the service advisor has been wonderful to me, but the work performed is not up to standard. I was even told a "MASTER MECHANIC" worked on my vehicle. This really scares me knowing that a master mechanic would do such an awful job. Took the car in for a valve cover job under warranty, not only was the job done wrong the first time, but they ended up replacing it again because they didn't clean any of the spark plug sockets and it fouled my spark plugs. The final mistake was made while doing repairs to the oil pan, the subframe bolts were left hand loose. Not only is that life threatening ordeal, but not ok at all for a third mistake. I have much respect for some of these guys as I've been going to the dealership for 2 years now without problems. I was attempting to get in contact with the manager of the dealership to try and figure things out, because of the ridiculous mistake made. I was told we were going to have a meeting to discuss this like adults, but apparently the manager had different plans. Not only was a decision made without even consulting me, but I felt very much disrespected that he would not talk to me face to face. I will not be going back here and I will be filing a complaint with BMW of NA to attempt to remedy this problem from occurring to someone else, before anyone gets into an accident because of this. Emergency comfort and confidence. I was traveling through Santa Maria on my way home to Bakersfield when a warning lamp lights up. I wasn't sure what the meaning was and didn't want to chance driving home with a warning lamp on. I spoke with a very nice gentleman by the name of Abraham at BMW Santa Maria and he enthusiastically invited me to come by the service center so he could check it out. Within 5 minutes he looked at the warning sign and car stats and advised that it was most likely a check engine regarding the exhaust system, and that I would be able to make the drive home and have the dealership there service my car. I was so appreciative of the professionalism, kindness, and support that I could successful make the drive home. Amazing service! read more

Dealership, although nice and new, is staffed by a handful of people that enjoy lying to customers. After selling my car to BMW of Santa Maria, I was told my bank would be overnighted a check in exchange for the title, leaving me the difference. After two days I called back just to ensure everything had smoothly gone over, but ofcourse it had not. A BMW of Santa Maria representative made up a tracking number for the mailed check, and gave it to me. LIke I said, the trackng number was made up because the check had not been written yet. Long story short, after twelve days of lie and deceit I was told a check had been written and mailed. What a joke they are. Don't fall for their charm or fancy exterior. read more

I have always been intimidated to walk onto the BMW lot, but to my surprise I have had the best car buying experience with this business. Sheldon Flowers was my sales rep and he was not pushy and he had very good knowledge of the BMW. Even though it was late at night he was not in a rush, and had a personal touch. The finance manager was extremely helpful in making sure I got all my needs met in a package I could afford. They had toys for my kids to play with while we waited for my car to be detailed. I never once felt out of place even though I am a single mom who never thoguh I could afford a BMW. I have visited the dealer ship after my purchase and Sheldon has shown me how to use all my features on my BMW and has been very committed to making sure I knew how to utilize my new gadgets. Every time I have been to the lot every one from car detailers, parts department, receptionist, finance managers, and sales reps are smiling and helpful, but not pushy or fake. read more

Terrible service. Traded in my BMW for a Mercedes they had on the lot. They made a lot of money off me. When I refi my car I had canceled my gap insurance which I had gotten through BMW. They said it would take 4-6 weeks to get my refund. 6 weeks go by and no check. I call the Gap insurance company to see whats going on and after giving my information, BMW never sent the cancelation letter. I then had to go back and re sign the cancelation documents, which I had to sit and wait in the lobby for about 45 min. After all that they said they would re send it "expedited" and the BMW finance guy said I would have my refund at the end of the week. Its has been two weeks since they "expedited" it and still no check. When I call the finance manager at BMW all I get is "can I give you his voicemail, he is really busy" and then no return phone call. I also thought it could be the gap insurance lagging on the check but when I called they told me that BMW writes the refund check not gap and they are told by the dealership to allow 4-6 weeks for a refund. read more
