Our initial elation was tempered a little when we uncovered some badly patched areas that we thought might not be able to be repaired. But then we contacted Hardwood Perfections. They came out quickly and advised us that indeed they could repair all of the damage and could do it on a timetable that fit perfectly into our plans. The floor refinishing crew did amazing work. After pulling up all of the damaged materials they rebuilt portions of the subfloor and then laced in new oak boards in a way that matched the existing floor perfectly. Next were several rounds of sanding to remove the old finish and even out everything. On the third and final day they applied Bona Natural water-based sealer followed by three coats of Bona matte finish. The results were stunning. Hardwood Perfections completely transformed this living space into something beautiful and amazing. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was flawless. All along the way we were advised of what was happening so there were never any surprises. Hardwood Perfections finished the job a full day ahead of schedule, did amazing work and stuck right to the estimate for services. Now wondering about under the fridge. Why write this? I was not home for this work, recommend that you see that what was agreed to is done. I paid for those things. Getting refund for range and sealing off rooms, but would rather have had the work done right than discover what wasn't done. As for the refinishing, they nailed the loose boards I identified and sanded/sealed. Looks good.

After returning from a two week trip to see relatives, they learned their cat had used this carpeted closet as a personal litter box resulting in a horrible odor that permeated their home. Despite a busy schedule, Amaya's was able to remove all carpeting and instruct these novice homeowners on how to use KILZ primer to paint some unfinished wood before returning to install the beautiful LVP tiles. I am suing NW Premium Hardwood Floors because although I paid them in full for replacing the floor…read morein one of the rooms in my house, I ended up without the floor and with an unusable room. NW Floors refused to even admit that they screwed up let alone fix the problem. Long story follows. I hired them to replace carpet with hardwood in one of the bedrooms. Once they removed the carpet, a strong smell appeared in the room. The workers and the owner first insisted that they do not notice it and then said it is normal and will disappear shortly. As this was the first time I had a floor installed I thought maybe the smell is from the glues or fillers they use during the install so I allowed them to persuade me. They proceeded with finishing the floor and I paid them. A month later the room still smells to the point it is uncomfortable to stay in it. I called the owner, he was reluctant to do anything and insisted that we wait. Another month later the room still smells. I called the owner but he didn't return my calls. It was busy time with my work and I still hoped that the smell will disappear. Therefore I waited a couple months more with the room still unusable. I then called the company that supplied the wood. A representative stopped by, walked into the room, said he doesn't want to stay there a minute longer because of the smell and told me that most likely the smell is coming from the subfloor, i.e. the plywood onto which the hardwood is nailed. So it is not an unheard of problem, it seems. The owner of NW Floors still didn't return my calls. So I sent him a certified letter. That got his attention, he stopped by and said he doesn't smell anything. No surprise there because he was wearing a really thick coat of cologne. Have you ever met a contractor wearing cologne on the job? Anyway, he said if I wanted to fix all smells properly, he can lift the floor so that I can seal the subfloor. We will have to refinish then, he said. That sounded ok because refinish should cost less than the full install, right? I asked how much, he didn't say. So he started removing the floor. I looked at what he was doing and it was pretty clear that the wood will not be reusable. Once the floor was removed, the room was stinking really bad. The subfloor was really smelly. I put several coats of floor sealant on it and that took care of the smell. I then called NW Floors to put the floor back. The owner asked me to pay the full price of the install again. I said, I just paid you and ended up without the floor because you guys choose to ignore the smell despite my concerns. Why should I pay you the full amount again? What about the warranty you mention in the contract? In response he offered me 15% discount and said he is being very helpful. I disagreed, and he stopped returning my calls. So I hired another company to finish the job and now I'm going to court after NW Floors to recover the money I paid them. The job itself was not done very well either, definitely not "premium". For example, when I inspected the installed floor it turned out that the floor at the entrance of the room is at least a full inch lower than the rest of the room, so when you walk in you clearly walk uphill. It wasn't noticeable with the carpet, but was very clear with the hardwood. NW Floors just shrugged that off as normal. The other company I hired simply added some shims so that the floor is even. Then there are little things like leaving a lot of dings and scratches on the walls of the room or washing the finish off the tools into my landscaping. I mean, it might not be great landscaping, but I don't think washing some chemicals all over it is warranted. The owner is usually late. I get it, he has three kids and needs to pick them up. But I am a parent too and I am on time usually. Bottom line, everyone makes mistakes and no contractor is perfect. But any decent one would admit the mistake and try to fix it. I was trying my best to work with NW Floors to resolve the issues with the job they did. But the owner insisted that there are no issues and basically ignored my concerns. Why would I bother calling him if there were no issues? I suggest anyone who considers hiring him keep in mind that if anything goes wrong, you will be similarly ignored.

We wanted to get the floors done before we moved in, but that left us with a limited time window to complete the work. I contacted NW Premium Hardwood Floors and they came out the same day to measure the floors and give us an in person estimate. The estimate was between $500 and $2000 lower than other companies quoted, and they could do the job within a week, which was perfect for us. I liked what I saw in reviews and photos on their website and other sites, so we ended up agreeing to terms and the work was done the week before we moved in. We expected that the floors would just be sanded and refinished, but the workers had serious attention to detail and really focused on doing quality work. They showed us a few boards that needed to be replaced and took care of that, but they were able to restore and preserve almost all of the original floor with careful and skillful work. The Swedish finish they used was intense smelling for about a week afterward, but the results are amazing and better than expected. I'm so glad we made this investment in our new home, and we highly recommend this company to our friends and coworkers when they ask who did the floors for us. No regrets!

We kept their card, and hired them to take out carpet in our family room and install hardwoods, which they laced in from our kitchen and we were thrilled! Next project was to take out the carpet in our formal living room/dining room and downstairs bedroom, and replace with hardwoods. This gave us all hardwood flooring on our first floor. Again, we were compeletly happy and satisfied with their work. We recently did a kitchen remodel and hired this company once again to come in and resand/refinish the kitcen floors. We were away when they did the job and upon our return, the house was COVERED in dust from the sander. Our new cabinets were dusted, our built ins in our family room was covered with dust, and it even extended into our formal living area. I had to come in and take all the items off all the shelves and dust everyone. The shelves and cabinets in our kitchen had to all be dusted and cleaned. As I said, we have used them before and I never had to deal with the dust issue EVER before. Our threshhold was also not completely stained. In a certain light, you can see where the stain did not completely cover the threshold. Against the moulding on the floor, you can see darker areas where the stain was a bit heavier, and not completely blended in. I did call and leave a message how upset and disappointed we were in the apparent "lazy work", and all she said was she was sorry and there must have been something wrong with the vacuum. I was told he had dusted the area when he left, but I did take pictures, and to me, there was no effort at all in cleaning up this mess. I would have appreciated prior notice to remove all shelf items and tape off areas with plastic, if this was an issue, but we were never told to do this. Also, having them do our rooms before, we did not come home to dust on our kitchen cabinets, etc. I do expect some dust as it is a dirty job, but this was BEYOND a small amount. My other thought, was to offer a discount, as we were prior customers and even recommended them to a friend who hired them. No such olivebranch was extended. We know another couple planning on putting in new hardwoods, but we will not be referring this company again! If you do hire them, clarify the dust and clean up issue prior to hiring. I don't know if they had someone else do the work, because this is such a change from our prior dealings with this comapny. We are so disappointed.

The only reason this isn't 5 stars is due to the tardiness of the gentleman who did the job. We had to follow up with the owner when no one came during the window we had someone at the house. Once he arrived, it got done though, and he even came back out to follow up on the job.
