Brisket

First off, thank you for being down the road from my house. The brisket was so tender and tasted amazing! The greens were absolutely delish. I'll definitely be back because the customer service was nice and the guy with the locs was handsome af. Thank you!

This was my first time coming here, and I was not disappointed. The customer service was excellent, the food came out quickly, and the portion sizes were generous. I ordered the lunch special ($12.99 + tax for one meat and two sides) with brisket, collard greens, and mac n cheese. The brisket was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The collard greens were well seasoned without being overly salty and didn't have too many stems. There was a subtle hint of sweetness that was new to my palate and didn't hit like the ones I'm used to. The mac and cheese was very good, with some unexpected crunchy bits that added a nice texture. I tend to prefer tangy and spicy flavors, so the BBQ sauce was a little too sweet for me personally, but it was still very well flavored and complemented the brisket without overpowering it--definitely a good choice for those who enjoy a sweeter sauce. I grew up eating BBQ so I'm pretty particular, and it's hard to find a spot that comes close. While nothing can replace the home-grown, backyard BBQ I've become accustomed to, the pitmaster's experience at this spot definitely comes through in every bite. BBQ flavors and styles vary by region, and while not everything matched my personal taste, others will love the seasoning. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving a good plate of BBQ!

Bo Daddy's BBQ is a small shop located next to a parking lot in DTLA. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's no available seating, so take-out only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would usually pick-up food before heading to class. For the food: They specialize in smoked meats with classic sides. There's a Daily Lunch Special includes 2 sides right now for $12.99. Good value for comfort food. What I Ordered: Lunch Special - Brisket, Mac & Cheese, Baked Beans

The food is tooooo good!

Bodaddys is some of the best BBQ in La and on top of that black owned and operated. Every time I buy food the owner greets me and always has excellent customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Truly a vibe if you don't know now you know.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was in the neighborhood a few months ago, was craving meat, decided to try this place. Was excited to try cuz the review was good, however the food was really bad, I couldn't finish, and threw the rest. The meat was so dry, too dry, - no sauce at all- didn't even taste it was a meat. So disappointing, wouldn't recommend it.

Baked beans were great

I didn't expect to find a legit BBQ spot in the Fashion District of LA but here it is! Bo Daddy's offers a great selection of smokes meats. I tried the brisket and baby back ribs. Both were excellent. The ribs had a great bite to them and not a soupy mess. The bark was ok, but the underlying smoke was on point. The brisket was also solid, offering a rich well rendered bite of smokey beefy goodness. I was glad to see none of this was chopped up and served in a sea of BBQ sauce. This pitmaster knows his BBQ meat speaks for itself. The sides are also quite good. I was surprised by the collared greens, which can often taste bitter. These were a savory, sweet, snappy consistency that I really enjoyed. The baked beans were also satisfying. Go Get yourself some Bo Daddy's!!

This place did not disappoint! We ordered the brisket which was tender, full of flavor and hot! The sauce was so good with a little kick to it! Collard greens and mac and cheese had really good flavor . we also ordered pork ribs. They were tender and good flavor with a side of potato salad definitely my favorite potato salad. With another order of mac and cheese. Also The guy that was working so kind! 10/10 we will be back!

This was a damn good meal. Link, mac'n'cheese, potato salad and Cole slaw. Yuuuuum yummmm

Dang! I was craving some good BBQ and I was searching online. I decided to try this spot bc it had good reviews and was close to work. I ordered the lunch special. I had a link with macaroni and cheese, potato salad and Cole slaw. Everything was SO DAMN GOOD. The link was juicy and I loved the flavor. The Mac n cheese was delicious. The potato salad was so good. The coleslaw was how I like it. Delicious. I'm excited to go back and try other meats but I'm definitely getting that link again.

OOO MY GOD !!!! How did I not know the place is in walking distance from my house,,,,, ‍ . Delicious! Tasty! Tender! Goodness! The baby back ribs are,,, fall-of-the-bone delicious. The pulled pork is amazing. The brisket makes you want to order twenty of them..... . The beens are so good, the Mac and cheese wow . I also had the chicken sausage, extra yum Everything they make is delicious. The gentleman that works there is really cool and down to earth. This place is a to-go type of restaurant so until they change the setting , just grab the goods and enjoy.... So If you're looking to eat some awesome barbecue and you're in the area, I totally recommend going here . One of the best barbecue places I've had in a while. I even had enough for lunch the next day.... Now ,,,,, To all you people that didn't give me a heads up about this place . (Hold outs) .... I hope you get some kind of really itchy rash on your (#%€£$) ..... . (JK) ,,, hahaha.... (Side note) I'm not completely sure but I think they use something in the recipe ,,, I'm thinking it's vinegar. ,,,,, so it might upset your stomach..... because I got a little bit of extra time in the restroom after eating here.... But don't get me wrong,,, I'm still going back to get some more !!! Hahahahahahah still definitely five stars ........

Deliciousness

Johnny. Hot damn your BBQ was delicious. The sides housemade, the sauce fantastic. The flavor, the tenderness, the cook all top notch. Well done, enjoyed every last bite.

Texas BBQ done right in the heart of Los Angeles. Bludso's on La Brea has earned its reputation as…read moreone of LA County's top places to eat and after our visit, it's easy to see why. We ordered two combo plates at $35 each -- well worth every penny. We upgraded to the lean brisket for an extra $2 and added pork ribs for $3 more per plate, and the result was a tray piled high with some of the best BBQ in the city. Sides included mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw, with both regular and spicy BBQ sauce on the side and sweet tea to wash it all down. The lean brisket was an absolute standout -- tender, juicy, and bursting with deep smoky flavor. The pork ribs were equally impressive, smoky and fall-off-the-bone tender with a gorgeous bark on the outside. The mac and cheese was honestly some of the best I've ever had -- rich, creamy, and comfort food at its absolute peak. The baked beans were packed with flavor and loaded with chunks of pork that made them feel like a meal on their own. The coleslaw was a perfect palate cleanser -- delicate, fresh, and not overly sweet, exactly how it should be done. The one minor letdown was the hot link sausage -- it was juicy but lacked the bold flavor you'd expect, and the skin was a bit tougher than it should have been. A small miss in an otherwise outstanding meal, and not enough to take anything away from the overall experience. The atmosphere was electric -- lively and loud in the best way, packed with energy and wall-to-wall televisions. We happened to go during the FIFA World Cup Final and the place was absolutely hopping. Our waiter was extraordinarily attentive and friendly, and the food came out quickly and piping hot despite how busy it was. Bludso's is the real deal. If you're serious about BBQ in LA, this is your spot. Get the brisket, get the ribs, and don't skip the mac and cheese.

Then guy who told the girl to seat us was just standing around d chit chatting with another employees for about 15 minutes before he even came to our table. He never even introduce himself. He just took our order. Another 20 mins came by before our food was served. OUR FOOD WAS ROOM TEMPERATURE. Short Rib was ok. The macaroni was stale and OLD! It was dry and not fresh! We asked for extra BBQ sauce and that didn't arrive for another 15 mins. We had to wave down another employee to try to get the sauce to us. I wouldn't recommend this place! Horrible service. Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!

In all my visits, I've never once seen her or the staff handle anything with anything less than professionalism and kindness. Another thing I like -- though it might not be for everyone -- is that you get to cook your own meat. I prefer my meat done a certain way, so it's nice having that control, and everyone can cook it to their own preference. I do wish they let us know about the included miso soup wasn't vegetarian at first because I had to switch it for the seaweed salad later but at least the staff were very accommodating. Back in the day, you had to get there early because the place STAYED PACKED, and their ribs were THEE reason to go. They were hands down some of the best ribs I ever had as a kid. They put me on. Fast forward 15-20 years later, and today was my first time coming back since my teenage years. I tried calling ahead to place an order, but couldn't get through. Honestly, that didn't surprise me because Woody's was always busy. I figured it was still the same old Woody's. Then I pulled into the parking lot around 6 PM on a Thursday. Immediately, there was parking available. That alone felt odd. No line. Plenty of parking. Not a single customer inside. That should have been my first sign. We ordered beef ribs, sliced brisket, mac and cheese, and dessert. They were out of the banana pudding, so we settled for peach cobbler. The total was around $50, which isn't bad for dinner for two. The excitement really started to hit when we got home and opened everything up. Unfortunately, that's when reality set in. The mac and cheese was terrible. Completely flavorless, watery, and mushy. The pasta was so overcooked it practically fell apart and blended together like baby food. It tasted old and had absolutely no seasoning or richness whatsoever. First and last time ordering that. Next was the brisket. The slices were gray, dry, and looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I took one bite and immediately said, "Absolutely not." Another disappointment. But I wasn't too worried yet because I came for one thing: THE RIBS. The flavor was actually still there. The sauce and seasoning reminded me of the Woody's I remembered. BUT THE TEXTURE... A completely different story. The ribs weren't tender, weren't juicy, and definitely weren't falling off the bone. They were tough enough that I found myself working for every bite. At that point, the empty parking lot, empty dining room, and lack of lines made a lot more sense. By the end of the meal, I ended up rinsing the remaining ribs off so my dog could enjoy them as a chew toy. What hurts most isn't the bad meal--it's seeing what was once a legendary BBQ spot become a shadow of what it used to be. I almost wish I hadn't come back because it tarnished some really great childhood memories for me. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also believe in being honest. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, Woody's is not the Woody's I remember, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. If it's any consolation, the cobbler was okay. But not worth going out of my way for.
