Lobster Surf & Turf Burger ($23): This was highly anticipated since not many restaurants sell surf & turf burgers. However, it was a bit underwhelming. For the price, we were expecting more lobster but they gave us 2 pieces, one being the claw meat. You do taste the truffle butter though bit I also wished they added it to the beef patty as well since it wasn't juicy enough. We ended up eating it as an open faced burger and saved the other bun since it didn't add anything to the burger. Overall, the burger was good but not worth the price and honestly, you don't need the lobster. Mozzarella Sticks ($8): This order came with 6 big pieces of mozzarella sticks. They were not crunchy or soggy when they arrived but the cheese was a bit hard inside. We air fried them and they were so delicious! The breaded batter has a unique taste so I think they flavored it. Be sure to make a reservation since they do have to get prepared for this course! APPETIZERS 1) Lobster taco - served on corn tortillas. Shredded Maine lobster with chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, cilantro, lettuce. This was a hidden gem in Downtown Los Angeles. It didn't look like it was open from the outside so I was reluctant to go in, I'm glad I did. The vegan burger was great, very fresh & the fries were tasty, complete with the restaurant's own made ketchup. They have a great selection of fresh toppings and house-made condiments and you can tell a lot of effort went into creating some of the best burgers around without straying too far or getting gimicky. I think if they experimented with different sauces it might help give it more of a kick. The onion rings were crispy and as perfect as onion rings can get. The dipping sauce was creamy and I ate all the onion rings. The best part of the meal was the strawberry lemonade! It was the best strawberry lemonade I have ever drank and I wish I had more. When I went back with a co-worker for lunch, we ordered the Danish and the Japanese. They also had decent beer selections and you can't go wrong with pairing burger and beer. The Japanese had pork belly patty, spread with garlic aioli, topped with green onion, mixed mushrooms, lotus root and miso sesame sauce. Patty was well cooked with a lot of Asian toppings to make this burger unique, especially with the lotus root. Chef Diego's wife is Japanese so I am assuming she had some influence on the creating. It's all around good burger and I enjoyed it. The Danish had Angus beef patty, spread with garlic aioli, topped with havarti onion remoulade pickled red cabbage, and mulberry molasses. It was a bite of savory with some sweetness balancing the flavor. Patty was cooked to medium and very tasty. It is so far my favorite burger on the menu. The regular fries can be substituted with parmesan truffle fries. It was very addicting and a must try. Chef Diego also makes his own ketchup. Overall a great place filled with good vibe. This place has good burgers. I like that they have vegan options and they have a gluten free bun. It would be even more awesome if the veggie patty was also gluten free. I recommend the California burger, its good. Their skinny fries are good as well, fried perfectly. The owner here is really nice and the atmosphere is really cool, all wood paneled and pub like. There are other things on the menu like salads and pastas but I haven't tried them. The burgers you can substitute the veggie patty and add an extra cost gluten free bun if you like to any of them. Just make sure to take out any additions in the burger you don't want like bacon, lol. This place is in downtown so the parking is lots or street, most likely paid. Update: ordered delivery this time. FOOD Turkey burger (3.5 stars): super salty patty. The bread is so buttery and soft! That is what saved it. They need to lay off the salt though. Let's get the only negative out of the way. The location. It's in dtla and not the nice part. Youd have no reason to be in part of town, which is why there isn't much foot traffic. Ok now onto the food. It's good and fresh. They have an awesome $11 lunch combo that gets you a burger, fries, drink and a sweet treat. The burger was great.
