Finally tried moos craft barbecue and I must say, the mac and cheese and fries were the best items to me. The thick burger was good as well. I was not a fan of the brisket beans and to me the brisket lacked flavor. The brisket was cold by the time it got to the table. The service was quick. We arrived about 20 mins to opening and the line was not bad. We waited and received our food within an hour or so. It has a wholesome family friendly atmosphere. Overall a decent experience.

Some of the best BBQ I've had. Real and authentic Texas style bbq. There was a line but it moved fast and service was friendly. Had a nice atmosphere where people can hang out. Would recommend!

So happy we finally got to try this place out! We made the mistake last time of coming after a dodgers game, everything was sold out by the time we got there. This time, we came about 15-20 minutes prior to opening and there were only about ten people in front of us. By the time we ordered and sat down however, the line was already making its way to the end of the block, so it's definitely worth getting there before opening! Ambiance is casual and busy. Staff was super friendly, from the cashier to the bartenders, everyone was just super pleasant. Food was phenomenal, we got the sausages, chili burger, brisket, pork ribs, kimchi friend rice, and mac and cheese.

Best BBQ in LA for sure! The bomb Smokey smell hits you as soon as you walk in and you already know that's it's about to be a party! The line was to the door but it moved pretty quick. The girl at the counter was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations. It was late in the afternoon so unfortunately the brisket was sold out (tip: get there early). I will definitely be back to try it soon. I ordered the pulled pork sando, a side of fries and red potato salad. My wife ordered the special (tostada) and cucumber salad. We had the pecan pie for dessert. EVERYTHING and i mean EVERYTHING was phenomenal. So flavorful! The bar was great too. Amazing selection of brews. The bartender was very helpful. My wife had the michelada. She really enjoyed it. I had the La fin Du Monde Belgian Tripel and Monkish Tripel Hazy IPA. Great beers! They were very attentive. They came by on several occasions to make sure we were doing ok and helped us clean up our table as we went through our meal. Can't say enough good things about this place. THANK YOU for an amazing first experience at Moo's!

The place was packed on Mother's Day, with tables filled with people. I did takeout, so picked up my order at the end of bar at the exact time promised. The ribs were good, but really wanted to try the beef ribs most. Overall, another successful Mother's Day!

If you want the full experience, timing is everything. Our first attempt at 5:00 PM was a tragic tale of "sold out" signs, I left with nothing but a dream. Lesson learned: Get there early. By noon, the world was our oyster; by 1:30 PM, the line was snaking down the sidewalk like a pilgrimage. The Main Event: The Chopped Brisket This wasn't just a sandwich; it was a religious experience. The brisket literally melted, hugged by a bun so buttery and toasted it deserves its own fan club. Paired with their subtle house BBQ sauce, pickled onions, and pickles, it's a messy masterpiece. Pro Tip: Keep that roll of paper towels on the table within arm's reach. You're going to need them. The Supporting Cast Mac n' Cheese: The gold standard of creaminess. I genuinely considered asking for a bucket of it to go. The Beans: Flavor-wise? 10/10. Topped with what looked like cotija cheese, they hit all the right notes, though they lean a bit on the soupy side if that's a dealbreaker for you. Rampart Burger: My boyfriend ordered this, but after one bite of my brisket, he realized he'd made a tactical error. It looked great, but the brisket is the undisputed heavyweight champion here. The Showstopper: Banana Pudding The staff recommended this, and they didn't steer us wrong. It's more "heavenly cream" than "chunky banana," but it captures the absolute essence of what a pudding should be. It's the perfect, sweet victory lap after a savory meal (even though we had this first) Know Before You Go They've held a Michelin Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years, and after that first bite of brisket, you'll understand why. Parking Hack: Don't get baited by the lot right next door, that's for the neighbors. Aim for the spots toward the back to avoid a headache.

Had to re-review this place after trying their food at their brick and mortar location. I first tried them in 2019 at Smorgasburg and I was not too impressed. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Most of the sides were sold out but they still had some brisket, ribs and sausages so we got those. Honestly, much better than what I remember at Smorgasburg and the fact that they have large amounts of seating and draft beer makes it so much better.

Moo's gets a lot of hype, and it's easy to see why people make an effort to get there. However, I'm not a big fan of their limited hours. It's a shame they're only open Thursday through Sunday, as I'd love to grab a midweek lunch there. I wish I could sample everything, but as a solo diner, ordering too much doesn't make sense. I've heard great things about the brisket, burgers, and sides, especially the mac and cheese and Texas chili. Solo diners are welcome to sit at the bar, even without ordering beer. This might vary during peak hours. This would be the perfect spot for a workday lunch with coworkers, allowing you to sample various menu items. Since I was dining alone, I felt a bit hesitant to order too much, so I opted for the Thicc Burger ($19.00) and a side of macaroni and cheese ($8.00). The burger had a nice peppery crust and a great smoky flavor. However, it was cooked pretty rare inside, and I wish I had asked for medium rare. I don't think you can specify the cooking method, as no one asked how I preferred it. The burger was visually appealing, especially with the melted cheese. I enjoyed the aioli, but there was too much of it, which, in my opinion, detracted from the burger. The mac and cheese was good, very creamy with a nice breadcrumb crunch, but not worth the price. The portion was quite small for what you pay, in my opinion. I enjoyed mixing the mac and cheese with both of their BBQ sauces; one had a nice tangy flavor, while the other was a bit sweeter. I'm not a huge fan of the service charges, although I understand running a business and paying employees fairly is expensive. The employees are welcoming, friendly, and helpful, offering good recommendations, and ordering is at the register with pickup at the counter. I will definitely be back to Moo's, but next time I'll come with my wife or a larger group. While I was a bit underwhelmed, considering Moo's reputation among BBQ enthusiasts, the Thicc Burger was solid, though not mind-blowing.

Beef ribs, thicc burger, brisket, pork ribs, burnt ends, cucumber salad, slaw, fries. Wheew!

Great bbq in the heart of Lincoln Heights. We came on Saturday about 5 minutes after they opened and the line out the door was already growing. We ordered a smorgasbord of items including: brisket, a beef rib, pork belly burnt ends, pork ribs, cucumber salad, some slaw, fries, and a slice of their banana bread cake. All the meat we ordered was tender and well seasoned. They also include a couple bottles of two different bbq sauces at each table, in case you want to sauce it down even more. The Thicc Burger was good but just a little over seasoned for my taste. The banana bread cake was moist and sweet. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was casual with wooden tables and benches. There is a bar inside the sells a great selection of beer and wine. There are TVs throughout the establishment playing sports games which would be a perfect place to catch a game. Also, giv yourself some time to find some street parking.

I went here on a Saturday around 11:10. The line was already about 20 people deep. I ordered a full pound of pork ribs ($34.00) and a small red potato salad ($7.00) to go. Good meal. The ribs were seasoned well. The potato salad was creamy. Even though there was a good amount of pickles in the salad, there was not an overwhelming amount of pickle flavor. The meal includes potato bread slices (really good) and a container with dill pickles, pickled onions and pickled jalapenos. There were also 2 sauces. The reddish brown sauce was tangy and the yellowish brown sauce was acidic. Service was friendly. Payment is by card only. In regard to parking, there is a public lot behind WSS, which requires payment via a kiosk. I opted to park several blocks down in the residential area.

    $180 worth of food
    Jae L.

This was $180 worth of food, and honestly it's disappointing. We ordered 3 lbs of meat, and it came with only three slices of potato bread. For the price, the portions and overall value are extremely disappointing. What made the experience worse was the service. The person at the front initially got our order wrong. When I tried to explain that I had ordered 1.5 lb of pork ribs, he cut me off and said, "Let me finish, it says 1 lb." After interrupting me, he checked again and realized I was right -- the order did say 1.5 lb. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, he then said II should have in the future selected 1.5 lb, even though I simply ordered exactly what was listed on their website. The attitude was unnecessary and dismissive. For $180, this amount of food and this kind of service is just unacceptable. Food is good though

A friend said, "There's a place serving up bbq...". Say less my friend. Little did I know they were talking abut Moo's, someplace that I have had bookmarked for some time, but didn't have a crew to join me in the adventure and to share the platter with. We went on a Sunday and got there right in time before the line formed out the door. They say the key to good bbq is in the preparation, and I smelt it right when I walked through the doors. Walking in you can smell the smoke coming from the back and to me was reason enough to have been glad that I saved my appetite. We ordered the Meat Sweats which includes 5 meats (1lbs each) and 3 Large Sides, I ordered an additional order of Fries for the table just in case. The meats included Brisket, Pulled Pork, Smoked Pork Ribs, Pork Belly and 2 Hot Links (Flavor is selectable). For sides, we chose the Chili, Kimchi Fried Rice, and Mac and Cheese. Let me say, when I hear Michelin Star, I tend to be a little judgmental. But, this earned the star and so much more. The Brisket was so tender and you can taste and see the smoke from the first bite. The fat melded so elegantly with the meat that it was halfway falling off the bone. Speaking of that, the ribs did just that. The pulled pork had a ton of flavor and the hot links (Cheddar Jalapeño and Hot Link) were snappy and savory. The Pork belly stole the show in the meats department for me. The fat and lean meat was so clearly stacked and the glaze on top gave it another dimension. Sides wise, the Mac and Cheese was the least impactful of the three. It was great, but the other two tickled my palette more so. I was glad we ordered fries, we dipped it in the chili and made our own chili cheese fries paired with the Mac n Cheese. That in of itself was such a big back move. Rounding out the experience was the Kimchi Fried Rice which added a ton of kick paired with the Pork Belly. There are chunks of it in there too which makes it the perfect pairing. For good measure, and bit of celebration, I added a Mango inspired IPA which sweetness enhanced the BBQ even further. Safe to say I enjoyed the journey that Moo's took us on and I will be back. However, the line was forming and they do run out of meats fast. So get there ASAP and enjoy!

Yea, it can be a pain to get because of the few days they're open, but it's definitely worth the time and effort. The Michelin Star was a nice reward and acknowledgement for them, but for the customers, it just comes down to the fantastic food of BBQ, sides and excellent customer service. We ordered ahead, but you can also wait in line and get an order in. Currently it's only pick-up, but that flex's from what I understand. The brisket was basically meat butter because it just falls apart. The rib, was a little more firm, but also fell apart effortlessly. The sandwich was huge and so flavorful and so much falls off, it's basically another meal. Yum. We had some peeps who didn't order because they were trying to cut out red meat... lol... that didn't go well when the food arrived; They sucked it down and realized diets are dumb. ;)

Such a nice option when you want something a little different without going across town. We ordered the coconut beef adobo, pork ribs, and the cornbread bibingka. The coconut beef adobo was definitely the standout for me. It kind of reminded me of Bicol express with a slight tanginess. Super flavorful and really good with steamed rice. The pork ribs were not your typical saucy, sweet, fall off the bone type. These were more dry style with a bark that can be a little tough, but the meat itself was still juicy underneath. The cornbread bibingka was also really good. It felt like the perfect mix of classic cornbread and bibingka, slightly sweet and soft, and the sugar on top was a nice touch. Portions were solid too. My husband and I had enough leftovers for the next day. Overall, really glad we finally got to try it, and we would definitely love to try more of their dishes someday.

I usually go with the Angus beef rib (soy tare) and toro beef (soy tare), and the combo comes with rice, salad, and miso soup. At $15.95 (before tax), it's a great value for two meat options. Another thing I like -- though it might not be for everyone -- is that you get to cook your own meat. I prefer my meat done a certain way, so it's nice having that control, and everyone can cook it to their own preference. One downside is that service can be slow during lunch hours, as they often seem understaffed.

The place is somewhat small but does still fit a good number of people inbetween various booth and table sizes filled with grills in them. The staff were very quick and efficient and the food was pretty good overall. I got the beyond beef bowl as a combo. I do wish they let us know about the included miso soup wasn't vegetarian at first because I had to switch it for the seaweed salad later but at least the staff were very accommodating. I guess the negative would be is it felt like a "rushed" experience and the food didn't blow me away. But compared to everything with roast costs, I still think it's pretty decent and they have a good "happy hour".

Back in the day, you had to get there early because the place STAYED PACKED, and their ribs were THEE reason to go. They were hands down some of the best ribs I ever had as a kid. They put me on. Fast forward 15-20 years later, and today was my first time coming back since my teenage years. I tried calling ahead to place an order, but couldn't get through. Honestly, that didn't surprise me because Woody's was always busy. I figured it was still the same old Woody's. Then I pulled into the parking lot around 6 PM on a Thursday. Immediately, there was parking available. That alone felt odd. No line. Plenty of parking. Not a single customer inside. That should have been my first sign. We ordered beef ribs, sliced brisket, mac and cheese, and dessert. They were out of the banana pudding, so we settled for peach cobbler. The total was around $50, which isn't bad for dinner for two. The excitement really started to hit when we got home and opened everything up. Unfortunately, that's when reality set in. The mac and cheese was terrible. Completely flavorless, watery, and mushy. The pasta was so overcooked it practically fell apart and blended together like baby food. It tasted old and had absolutely no seasoning or richness whatsoever. First and last time ordering that. Next was the brisket. The slices were gray, dry, and looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I took one bite and immediately said, "Absolutely not." Another disappointment. But I wasn't too worried yet because I came for one thing: THE RIBS. The flavor was actually still there. The sauce and seasoning reminded me of the Woody's I remembered. BUT THE TEXTURE... A completely different story. The ribs weren't tender, weren't juicy, and definitely weren't falling off the bone. They were tough enough that I found myself working for every bite. At that point, the empty parking lot, empty dining room, and lack of lines made a lot more sense. By the end of the meal, I ended up rinsing the remaining ribs off so my dog could enjoy them as a chew toy. What hurts most isn't the bad meal--it's seeing what was once a legendary BBQ spot become a shadow of what it used to be. I almost wish I hadn't come back because it tarnished some really great childhood memories for me. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also believe in being honest. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, Woody's is not the Woody's I remember, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. If it's any consolation, the cobbler was okay. But not worth going out of my way for.
