Prefacing this review to say the 4 stars is for the hostess and food only, everything else I would rate a 2 or 3. My partner made reservations for BOA to celebrate an early anniversary and our little getaway to SoCal. We got stuck in really bad traffic heading to our reservation but the hostess was very accommodating and understanding when we got there about changing our reservation time. We came back at 8 for our 8:15 reservation and did not get our table until 8:45. This was ridiculous but they were apologetic so we let it be. The restaurant is really nice and bougie but the service was not it! Our waitress seemed distracted while taking our order, forgot our drinks 3x so we had to flag another waiter, and just did not seem to enjoy being there. The food was great and the sides were delicious too. Overall, the food was the great part and everything else was okay. read more

Boa is my number one favorite restaurant, so I was really happy to find out this location is open for lunch. Our server, Erin, was amazing, very attentive and she had great suggestions. Lunch was great overall. My only complaints are that our entrees took a long time to come out after our appetizers and they had washed the cushions right before opening so we couldn't sit together in a booth. I dined here back in February of this year (2025) for my birthday, and I'm just now getting around to the review, but that's just letting you know how much this experience has stuck with me since; I definitely plan on returning. A lot of the reviews focus on their brunch menu, but we actually dined here for dinner, and I might say, that the other reviews were kind of a letdown, and I'm glad I still went with my gut, and attended this dinner here for myself because it was exceptional. Everything from the host to the Ceasar Salad, to the waiter, to the management, couldn't have felt more welcome and the food matched that, so if you're gonna pay high-end prices for meals, absolutely have the service and the decor to match. The ambience is lovely. It's quaint and modern with a comfortable atmosphere. I've never been to the other location. I chose this one because it's more my vibe, not that "sceny Hollywood" kind of stuff, just understated, sophisticated elegance; that's my vibe and they didn't let down there either. We ordered a variety of things for a party of six. The side plates come as shareable's. The portions could be a little bit larger for shareables in my opinion, but the food was delicious. We had the roasted brussels sprouts (these are my favorite in general) and they didn't let down. I did my little happy dance when I ate these brussels sprouts. Four out of six of us ordered the aged ribeye. The first one they have listed on the menu. We had two out of four that ordered the aged ribeye well done and then medium well for the other two, obviously the longer you cook it, the more the meat shrinks, but clean plates all the way around. My Dad also ordered the filet mignon, which he was quite pleased with as well, and my mom had a size-able baked potato with all the fixings. Some people mention the fat on the meat and for me that's not an issue because that tends to help add more flavor and as long as it's a high-grade cut of beef and not fatty all throughout the grains; you can always cut that away. I didn't have a problem with it. The house made Cesar salad again, that was delicious. Had a little bit of a spicy kick which was a pleasant surprise; all thoroughly enjoyed it. A bit more salad could have been distributed in that bowl, especially for a party of six. We also loved the mocktails that were served, which come out just as beautiful as any alcoholic beverage. However, we did not indulge in alcohol this night. The rosemary rolls are not my favorite because I don't like rosemary and most of the guests that I dined with didn't either, except for my dad he loved the rosemary rolls (Parker rolls). They were plump, fresh baked, made in-house. I specifically appreciated the fact that even though we placed two orders for the rolls, one was served, but they had run out for the other set because they are made in house, but somehow they were able to bake us a fresh set, and send us home with that gratis. They give you the extra razzle-dazzle for the birthday portion of the evening, where they come out with sparklers and present you with their own birthday treat; if you bring your own dessert, they do charge a cake slicing fee, which is $25. They also have valet parking, but this location is situated at the Manhattan Village, which is a mall, and there's plenty of parking throughout that you don't have to pay for, and isn't a long walking distance from the restaurant. Boa does require you to put down a credit card for booking reservations, and there is a strict dress code listed on their website, so check that out beforehand, so all of your guests can know what is considered appropriate for this dining experience. I noticed in other reviews they mentioned the waitstaff wasn't very attentive once you moved out of the bar area. Well that was not my experience the evening that we dined, which was on a Saturday, reservation for 7 PM. Boa called to confirm earlier in the day for my reservation, and our table was ready when we arrived. There is a charge if you cancel last minute, I think that's what helps allow their business to run smoothly, so they can have everything waiting for you when you arrive, (so be on time because you're booked for a specific window of time). The restaurant was busy, but that did not stop our waiter or management from being attentive, without us having to ask. Our waiter even offered to help cut my cake. I did bring in a cake for my birthday, and he helped cut it beautifully, and did not charge us, so that itself takes the experience to the next level. With that being said, I look forward to trying their brunch menu and coming back in general, thanks BOA for making my 40th birthday dinner spectacular. read more

I visited BOA to celebrate my birthday and I'm so glad I did! It was seamless being seated since I had a reservation. The inside is really beautiful and sleek, very elegant atmosphere. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, very nice. We ordered the Cesar Salad wihicj is prepared tableside which i enjoyed watching. The salad itself was good, just not the best Cesar salad ive had. We also had the meatballs and parker house rolls for appetizer. I ordered the 15 day dry aged ribeye which was cooked perfectly! Some of my party ordered the Cajun cowboy steak and loved it! They use a torch to melt the butter on top when they bring it out. I tasted it and it was absolutely delicious. I'm ordering it next time I go. The sides were all amazing. We ordered the lobster mash potatoes, truffle mash potatoes, broccolini and Brussels. I'm dropped my review to two stars because BOA (or their third party payment processor) added an undisclosed $6 fee to my bill when I scanned the QR code in the "Scan to Pay" option. This is a violation of CA SB478 which requires business (including restaurants) to clearly detail out any service fees. Nowhere in the webpage once you scan does it break out this fee. The only place to see an indirect reference to this service fee is by clicking on a 17 page "terms" link and then scrolling to page 5 (see attached screenshot) and that doesn't even clearly spell out the amount or calculation of the fee. The server didn't seem to understand it either when I asked about it. BOA and its payment processor are counting on customers to not do the math and realize this extra fee was tagged on. We ultimately were able to not pay this fee by pulling out our physical credit card and paying the old fashioned way. I have no issue with giving customers alternate ways to pay - but only if the fees are disclosed clearly up front (as required by SB478). Other than getting upset about the underhanded fee - our steaks, table side Caesar , Mac and cheese, Creamed spinach and cocktails were great! BOA - you need to correct this undisclosed service fee issue - by changing your receipts to clearly note the service fee for "scan to pay". SB 478 allows impacted consumers to either complain to the AG or to sue the business. I'm sure you don't need that headache read more

I tried BOA for the first time tonight. We made a last minute reservation and were able to be seated fairly quick upon arrival. It should be noted that BOA is next to a sushi resturant and BOA has a wooden door (not the more visible glass doors). I found the entrance to be a little odd. The service was exceptional and the food matched. This is a great upscale resturant for special occasions or a date night. Their Cesar Salad is prepared table side and was on point. The only way they could make it better is if they made the croutons in house. I'm not sure if they were house made, but they didn't taste like it. Lobster Mac and Cheese was really good. I've had better Mac and cheese but the lobster made it stand apart. Asparagus was what you would expect. Large stalks cooked to perfection. I had the 15 day dry aged bone in Ribeye. I'm not sure how many ozs it was, but it was perfect. The flaky finishing salt was perfection. It was cooked to my liking. 15 days is the minimum a steak should be aged, but it didn't disappoint. I didn't try any of the condiments (don't mess with a quality steak). Overall, I had a great experience and would return when in the area. First time visiting Feb 2025 the new Manhattan Beach location that just opened in Oct 2023. On weekends night their entire lot is valet which is suprisingly considering how large their free parking lot is so beware if you go on weekends nights that you will need to park a little further in the general mall parking lot and walk one crosswalk over to BOA. The vibe and atmosphere is not what you expect from a steakhouse or BOA in general at all. In a very good way! It had a lasting impression of a rainforest, garden boho vibe inside. They had plants literally everywhere and raised to about 7 feet tall giving a warm greenery nature vibe along with privacy among the tables and outside. They also had the large tall cylincidral heaters that are normally placed outside on patios but they were inside... how cute!! As for food receommendations - i love the taste and presentation of the spicy tuna cones. It resembled the flavor of poke with a light airy ice cream cone razor thin cone texture The goat cheese baklava was incredibily thin flaky and you could really enjoy the craftsmanship that went into making it so thin and flaky and still hold it's structure. The cheese was also warm and melty which was so pleasant since baklava are typically room temp and very crunchy and hard! BOA's baklava was melt in your mouth light and airy but still packed a ton of flavor with the goat cheese warmed up it really has a strong funk flavor if you are a cheese snob you will definitely enjoy it! The roasted bone marrow was a fun and nicely presented dish to share The blue crab was presented nicely with the dry ice underneath I did notice for all their desserts they make it memorabl with the large flare candles regardless of the ocassion or if there even is one. We had an amazing brunch here last weekend and this place never disappoints. Every time I have come in they are the best with service, the ambiance is chill and elegant, and most importantly the food was delicious. Started off with their Caesar salad (light on the dressing). We ordered the caviar (Pro tip: Petrossian Paris is the only kind worth paying for!) it is just sooo yummy, flavorful and less "fishy" smelling...trust me. My son enjoyed it so much, he at all the mini pancakes and chips that come with the order. There's a huge difference from the caviar kind that they put on our Tuna Cones which we also ordered btw. Also very tasty but not as good as Petrossian. We got the mushroom side order which were my favs and the steak. I made a mistake and got medium well instead of usual medium for my son but it was a bit too well for my liking. However, little man didn't complain about it so we ate the whole steak together. But, the staff is the true highlight of BOA. Jeff, the GM, may be the nicest man in hospitality. His assistants, Marilyn and Michelle, will make sure you feel at home. I've been going to Boa since I was 21. I would say it's my favorite steakhouse. I have tried almost everything on the menu over the years, from the A5 Wagyu to the lobster mashed potatoes and even the baklava. I'm a little disappointed that I got so excited I saw that a 10 oz dry aged ribeye steak and eggs were only $29.99 on the menu for their weekend brunch menu. I took a bite into it and it didn't taste like the much bigger bone in Cajun cowboy ribeye $76 I normally come here for, but I mean it doesn't have a bone or the Cajun stuff on it. But it was so cheap for a steakhouse and it actually is a pretty good steak for the price, so it made me reconsider because you get a quality steak at a steakhouse for $29, meaning you could in theory, come here more often than you could for a Cajun cowboy. I mean you could go to get a Cajun cowboy every week, but that might not be good financial planning in these trying times. Anyway, the steak was good. A little thinner than the steaks you typically find at Boa. But still good. There's a tomato in that dish that is pretty phenomenal. If you want to eat steak every week and not break the bank, I would get this. This time around, I got the boa boujie twice baked potato again. I love this item on the menu. It's one of my favorites. I used to only be able to find twice baked potatoes at Harris Ranch, halfway between LA to SF, so to have it so close to home is nice. They sprinkle it with caviar which is fine I guess, but I'm pretty sure it would taste just as phenomenal without it. It's the process, not the garnish, that makes a twice baked potato so amazing. There's even creme fraiche at the bottom of the potato. If you haven't tried a twice baked potato, it is 100 percent definitely something you need to try. You'll never want to eat a regular baked potato again. Some things that are worth getting on the menu are the table side Caesar salad as they make it the right way a Caesar is supposed to be made, with anchovies. Their bone marrow is good but idk if the short rib it comes with is anything to call home about. It would be nice if it was just the bone marrow. Their crab cake is great. Their prawns are phenomenal. For steaks, I typically do the dry age ribeye or the Cajun cowboy, but mostly the Cajun cowboy. It has this bleu cheese thing that put on top of it, when combined with the peppercorn sauce, makes it the best steak you'll ever have. Their a5 is good, but it's a5, so it's pretty pricey. I haven't had it since it was $21 an ounce and now it's between $36-$54 so times definitely have changed haha. The king crab and lobster tail and chilled seafood platter are good, but this is a steakhouse so I would probably recommend a steak over that. But if you can afford to do surf and turf, then do that for some variety. All their sides are good. My favorites are the twice baked potato, the lobster mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, spinach cream, chipotle lime corn and the sautéed mushrooms. The ambiance is nice. They have both an indoor and outdoor area here and the beach breeze and bamboo plants just make it such a relaxing environment. The service here has always been absolutely phenomenal as well. Anyway to reiterate, this really is my favorite steakhouse. When I brought my friend who owns a few wine brands here in the past, he thought everything was phenomenal and he travels the world and goes to places like that Double Eagle steakhouse which isn't that bad, but this still trumps that place too. He still is dying to know where Boa sources their steaks haha. Get the Cajun cowboy if you want a true steak you'll appreciate. Get the Caesar salad. Get the twice baked potato or the lobster mashed potatoes. Get creamed spinach or another side. Get some prawns if you want an appetizer or a seafood platter if you wanna go surf and turf. And if you like caviar, they actually have kaluga on the menu, which tastes a lot better than beluga. Anyway, that's all I got. Enjoy some pictures. Oh one more thing. I was terribly disappointed on Mother's Day after making a reservation one month in advance only to be informed BOA was serving a brunch and denied access to their standard menu. I've previously dined at BOA and wanted my wife to have my previous experience here. I was informed upon arrival of their buffet only for Mother's Day. I asked if we could order a stake from the menu and was denied. BOA never indicated they were serving a buffet only during Mother's Day. I witnessed another patron asked the same question and was also told he and his wife could go next door to Sushi Roko if they wanted stake. My total bill for a buffet with tip and parking totaled 340. With no apology or effort to correct this matter. I'm no stranger to BOA, I've been coming here for years. But this is just my second time at this location The parking at this location is so easy vs the ones in LA. They have a little private parking lot and a parking garage in the same shopping center that is no fuss I came here with my friend, Michelle for happy hour birthday lunch (thank you Michelle!!) We were going to sit at the bar for happy hour, it's only in the designated bar area. I just couldn't do it. I felt horrible and explained to one of the workers about my condition and how it deals with my organs being fused and my back. It was just too hard to sit there. I kept apologizing and felt horrible for the inconvenience. But everyone was so accommodating to my disabilities and kept reassuring me it was no problem at all and still honored the happy hour menu while seating me in a booth. We honestly had so many people checking on us I really didn't know who our main server was. At one point the chef even brought out our food. The younger guy who closed us out and asked if we wanted the birthday cookies boxed up was extremely nice. (And the hostess and bartender) It definitely was dead during the day time. It's way more action packed during the weekend at night. The place itself is absolutely spotless and love the layout and design We came here for my birthday and in the reservation we mentioned it was a birthday celebration. And they were on point with it. Had a very enjoyable experience at Boa on a beautiful Saturday evening with the fam. We were planning on going to Joey's near by but the wait was too long so we made a quick reservation here. Not a place I'd normally just stop by for a dinner because of the price (~$100 per person), but I'm glad we did. My son enjoyed watching them make it and the dressing is amazing. Plenty of parmesean cheese too. My wife and I both ordered the center cut filet with their herb butter. Such a tender steak with great flavor and cooked to the perfect temperature ordered. I got mine medium and my wife got medium well. We also got the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. WARNING! This restaurant will charge you an additional $2.79 fee for paying using the QR code on their check. While the food here is delicious, at these very high prices you would expect there not to be any additional fees simply for using the QR code on their check to pay. And, if they are so desperate that they cannot make enough money off of $75 pieces of steak, that they still need to charge another $2.79 fee simply for paying a check with a QR code, then please at least be honest and inform your guests about the fee right on the check, right next to the QR code. It's ridiculous that I didn't find out about the fee until after I received the PDF bill via email. I'm angry about the fee, but what is most incredibly disappointing is that the fee was not disclosed properly prior to payment. Very disappointing for a restaurant like this. It's something you would expect from a small crappy takeout restaurant, but not for a super expensive restaurant like BOA. read more

Excellent service! The bartender wasn't friendly and didn't seem to want to serve us; but we were just waiting on our table, so who cares. Once we were seated... I cannot say enough about Adeli's amazing customer service. She is an experience all by herself. She's fun and sweet and attentive! I will be back! I tipped her 20% but if I were rich, I'd tip 40%. She was excellent... we forgot all about the stuffy bartender. The food... The petite steak was so juicy and tender, I could cut through it with a fork. I went here for the first time last week and enjoyed it so much I went again last night. The food is exceptional , the steaks were great, the sides and apps were mouth watering . For help, we ordered the burrata and bone marrow , 2 lovely ribeyes , the fries and Mac , all mouthwatering. I am writing this just to highlight our server Jason. We went on 12/4/25, 7:30 PM reservation, and Jason was just the best. Exceptional service, had fun with us, and it was just the little things he did , the "above and beyond" you would say. Boa is such a delight. The ambiance is sexy, perfect for drinks with co-workers or a date. It never fails. This was my first time at the manhattan beach location, which one a nice escape from the sceney West Hollywood location with paparazzi waiting outside. My favor item was the truffle mashed potatoes. Who knew adding truffle to it could be so delicious. The biggest surprise was the goat cheese truffle baklava. As a middle eastern person I was a little concerned but it's an explosion of delicious flavor in your mouth. Lastly, the service was on point. They changed all the plates and silverware every time... even when they didn't need to. My water was always filled, as someone who's like a camel, I appreciate it. read more
