    Artichoke dip

Cozy little restaurant just off the pier in Manhattan Beach. Service was excellent, food came out promptly. Prices were a bit high, but probably about average for the area. Had the Tokyo Smashburger, which was delicious. Fries were so-so and the artichoke dip really just did not work for me. Overall a good experience, I'd return if I was in the area.

I came for a Japanese pop-up where they were serving amazing sushi and sake all while vinyl records were being spun in the background. Service was great given it was a holiday weekend. The ambiance and decor had that hidden gem feel with an upscale twist. I would definitely come back to try their regular menu as I heard it was quite delicious.

Cute spot to grab some fine eats! Creative drinks...I got the Terracotta Paloma...and great apps. We ordered chicken wings which were deliciously spicy, Yellowtail Crudo which was picante and fresh. For the main, I had this delicious salad with grilled shrimp and hearts of palm with green goddess dressing. It was light and fresh. So crisp and fun to eat. Service was attentive and speedy. Recommended.

It was my first time here, came in after a walk on the beach. They have late night happy hour 8pm-close Monday-Friday. I went with the Tropical Mule, I loved it. The service was great and fast. The ambience is really nice, I look forward to coming back to try more food and drinks.

Their menu has so much variety: from pastas, to sandwiches and burgers, salads, sushi and even chicken pot pie. And honestly everything was delicious. Service was a little slow but that may have been because we were a larger group. The rigatoni alla vodka was also spicy which I wasn't expecting but was still really good.

Casual spot close to the beach with eclectic food offerings. Came here for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday on a weeknight and made a reservation online in advance. The booth they sat us in for 6 was more on the cozy side, but it was a chill vibe and a nice ocean breeze coming in. I had the rotisserie chicken while my boyfriend had the Fuchs office burger. Both came with fries and were decently portioned. I was hungry but still had some leftovers. We ended the meal with a hit fudge sundae, and that is something that's easily shareable (it was so big!). Metered street parking on a steep incline was available.

Good for happy hour ! $10 apps The artichoke dip was very spicy but it wasn't described as so on the menu. Spicy tuna roll was refreshing but not very spicy! Service was a little slow but still friendly. Cute inside!

What a fun, upscale bar in Manhattan Beach! We had the Chicken Chipotle Pasta, which was hearty, filling and quite loaded up. We also had the Japanese BBQ Burger with fries and a side salad. I was quite into the BBQ sauce and we wolfed it all down pretty quickly. The bartender was efficient and jovial, which we appreciated. We came in for a quick bite while exploring the city, so we can't speak to the drinks. Seems this place attracts locals as regulars, which says a lot to me. Restrooms are clean and tidy, but they are unisex so there may be a wait. Parking is available in nearby lots or on the street - don't forget to pay the meter.

I came here for Dine LA but because I was early, I couldnt get the dinner so I ordered other things from the menu. I got the spinach dip, lamb tacos, fries and a rose spritzer. First off, the appetizers and mains were a bit overpriced. The spinach dip was $18 and the (2) lamb tacos with mixed greens dressed only in a vinaigrette was $28. The rose spritzer was $8 and fries were $8. I spent $67 for these items. The lamb tacos had mostly fat pieces and was half full. The salad did not have any toppings just light dressing. The fries were a bit salty. All in all, a very pretty place and the ambiance was nice , staff were pleasant l, the bartender was friendly but the overpriced food was a downer.

Since they renovated, Brewco has been one of my favorite spots in downtown. The shishito peppers, French fries, and cocktails are all delicious ! The affogato martini is fantastic as well. The ambiance is quite nice; and not too formal or casual. The service is also very attentive.

Service was great! Our table's waitress was very polite and made sure our food got out to us in a timely manner! Cleanliness on point!! And the bathroom?! GORGEOUS! The setting is literally something out of a sitcom show or movie. Me and my friends decided to go here and enjoy this amazing happy hour after having a lovely day out on the beach and I can say this was a WONDERFUL choice! And I will actually be back very soon because those chicken wings?! Simply delicious to the point that I ate them in silence LOL **that's how you know the food is CHEF'S KISS**

Very cute restaurant and a perfect dining experience when the weather is nice. We sat by the window which was open with a nice breeze and a perfect view of the ocean. The establishment was nice and clean and the service was good (I love the decor in the bathrooms). Everyone was friendly and I want to give a shoutout to Dylan... he was amazing and very accommodating (I changed my order 3 times sorry Dylan! :) I ordered the green goddess salad, it was very tasty and refreshing on this nice summer day. It was loaded with jicama, grilled corn, avocado and cherry tomatoes. They do have an option to add protein as well. Everyone I dined with enjoyed their food, although they did say the French fries were super crispy and over cooked. Not sure if this is how they normally cook their fries, but If you want it less crispy I would recommend stating that at the time of placing your order. Overall, great place to dine. I look forward to dining here again in the future!

They brought me a salt and pepper mill to season the chops. I was a little surprised that they were under seasoned. I asked for iced tea refills and they were obliging. The meal was moderately priced but for the ambiance and good quality, it was worth it. The service was spot on with plenty of staff attending to our needs. The food is solid. It's as tasty and well put together as I remember it to be. We started with the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits. I think these have been here since day one. They're FULL of lovely smoky bacon pieces and are at least 4" round! It's a pretty hearty appetizer. We quickly moved on to dinner, here's what the table ordered: Lobster & Sweet Corn Risotto - the risotto was cooked perfectly. Be sure to mix that poblano pepper butter in the middle up, it adds a great smoky chili flavor to each bite. My oinly complaint about this dish is that they used claw meat. I'm just not a fan of lobster claw, it's too gelatinously rubbery for me. Skirt Steak - Oooo, this was medium rare to perfection. The smoked paprika chimichurri gave a burst of flavor and a mild heat at the back of my throat. Chilean Sea Bass - Chilean sea bass always cuts like buttah! 2 people ordered this at our table and I'm pretty sure they loved it, that side of the table was pretty silent for 15 - 20 mins. Pork Porterhouse - This dish had the most flavor. The spaetzle was cooked and browned on the griddle, it had a fantastic crispy crust. It was a little on the salty side BUT I think 's because it needed more carbs to tame the salt. For me, it would have been PERFECT with a little rice or mashed potatoes or creamed sunchokes. Parking still sucks in MB but right behind the restaurant is a parking garage that's free after 6 pm.

Several had the Watermelon and Feta Salad. One had the Bloddy Mary Deviled Eggs, and another had the Fig; Pistashio, and Cottage Cheese Toast. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were full before our next courses arrived! Our server was Malcolm. He was very attentive even though it was an extremely busy afternoon since it was Father's Day. He was very helpful explaining some of the options only offered on today's menu. They offered a Bistro Burger (five out of six of us ordered!) and I wanted to know how different this burger was from their Simmzy's Burger (my personal favorite). He was spot on, explained it was smokey in flavor and quite different with the pretzel bun. It was so.good, served with fries (best shoestring fries!), onion rings, and piled so high you had to use a fork and knife to eat it! We left beyond full! Definitely we will be back soon!

On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. For our mains, we shared the Love Letter Discoteca pasta, Whole Branzino, Angus Ribeye, and both the Japanese Mushrooms and Spicy Soppressata pizzas. Everything was flavorful, well prepared, and perfect for sharing. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell a little flat. The dining room was very loud, and we were seated right by the front door, so there was a constant flow of people walking by. I understand every restaurant has a few less-than-ideal tables. I worked in restaurants myself but it definitely affected the experience. If you're dining with a smaller group, I'd recommend sitting at the bar instead. From what I remember from previous visits, the bartenders are fantastic, and I actually prefer the atmosphere there. I had also noted on my reservation that we were celebrating my birthday. I wasn't expecting a complimentary dessert or anything, but I was surprised that neither the host nor our server acknowledged it with even a simple "Happy Birthday." It's a small detail, but thoughtful hospitality goes a long way in making a celebration feel special.

My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. He loved it, but our resident food critic chimed in with, "I don't really taste the beef." Dessert was the cinnamon bread pudding with ice cream and caramel drizzle--absolutely worth saving room for. Everything was delicious, portions were generous, and we left happy (and full enough to feed a small submarine crew). Definitely coming back!

We really wanted to like this Italian spot, but unfortunately, it just didn't live up to the…read moreexpectations. The pasta was clearly homemade, and you could tell it was fresh, but the actual flavors were very underwhelming. For a place specializing in Italian cuisine, we expected a lot more punch. What really turned us off, though, was the lack of value. For the price of the food, the service policy feels incredibly stingy. They do not give you free refills on drinks, which is ridiculous at this price point--refills should absolutely be included. To make matters worse, you do not get free bread for the table either. Overall, we did not like this restaurant. Between the underwhelming food and being nickel-and-dimed for basic things like bread and drink refills, it is definitely not worth the price tag. We won't be back

We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.
