    Ahi Poke

Went here for a late night dinner and it was surprisingly pretty good! I ordered the salmon build your own plate with a Cesar salad and fries plus the ahi poke - both were delicious but the poke definitely stood out more than the salmon. It tasted fresh and really liked the sauce the had with it. I was especially surprised at the sheer amount of food I got for a $13 salmon plate! 2 huge portions of salmon plus the 2 sides is such a steal! There's also lots of seating and some parking so that also made it very convenient. Definitely would come again!

I was treated to a birthday lunch here by my team at work, and this was only my second visit. We started with calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. Both were really good. The crab cakes came with a side salad and cilantro dressing. I had a bite, and it was tasty. For my entrée, I ordered the whole fried tilapia with sweet potato fries and Mediterranean veggies on the side. The fish was crispy and flavorful. I do wish it had a bit more salt, but the pickled onions it was served with made it delicious. I ended up eating the whole thing! The sweet potato fries were good and not oily at all. The veggies, however, were a bit underwhelming and too peppery for my taste. I only ate about a quarter of the serving, and I usually love vegetables. For dessert, I ordered the fantasy chocolate cake, which is a chocolate ganache cake. It was good, but I wish it had been more moist. My coworkers ordered the carrot cake and ube mascarpone, and I had a bite of each. The carrot cake was a bit dry, but the ube mascarpone was delicious and creamy. I would definitely order that next time.

Came here for the first time, and was expecting a bit more than the usual fish place Ensenada's down the street. Cashier was courteous but the ambiance was not. It was hot outside so opted to go inside, it was HOT inside, they had no A/C so that itself was already strike one. Wanted to try some crab cakes, it was brought to me, it was burnt. Strike 2 What really annoyed me was when I wanted some salt for my salmon, I find what looks like rust on the salt shaker lid. Disgusting. Food (salmon) (fish and chips) was DELICIOUS I will say besides the overly toasted crab cakes. I'll give it a 3/5 for now, the food saved my ranking.

This location is in a plaza so theres some parking. This place is hands down one of the best spots for seafood. Quality and flavor! They really know how to cook and season their dishes to perfection. With plenty of options to customize your own plate. They also have items like wraps and salads. Forget about the other dining scams that off branzino when you can get it here for half the price that tastes way better. I ordered the rainbow trout seasoned with garlic and herb butter over thai noodle salad with a side of sweet potato fries. FIRE! I highly recommend

Similar concept to California Fish Grill, but with many more sides and options to choose from. I ordered the shrimp wrap and asked for the spicy mayo on the side since I can't eat spicy food. Without the sauce it ended up being a little bland, so I wish there had been a pico de gallo or another sauce option to add more flavor. My friends ordered the fish and shrimp taco plates. We also shared the Mediterranean octopus salad and the Brussels sprouts. In hindsight, we probably didn't need the extra dishes since the plates already come with sides and are pretty generous in portion. The service was friendly, and the staff cleared our table right after we finished eating. I would come back again to try some other dishes that don't rely on spicy mayo.

This is the best deal for seafood , you literally can't beat the prices. We got their Salmon and Scallops plate that comes with two sides. They were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The workers are very nice and the food came out pretty quick. The restaurant is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. ig: @cravingswithcat

The hostess was warm and very helpful. She offered detailed information about the dishes we were considering. Though it appears this restaurant does more takeout than dine in, allow time to dine in. Fun vibe to the dining room! Our dishes were excellent. We had the Mahi Mahi tacos and shrimp were. Both were hearty portions with clean, bright flavors. This was our third visit and yes, we will keep coming back! Cheers!

Very pleasant surprise. I'll cut right to the chase: this isn't the freshest seafood you can eat or the most skillful execution in seafood. But you know that coming here. This is a no frills, seafood grill, with good value, and that's exactly what you'll get. By current American prices, this is good value. $24 got me a giant plate with two large shrimp, two scallops (surprisingly tender!), and two filets of fish, and two heaping sides. Not bad at all!! Had enough for two large meals and then some. Again, this is amazing value for seafood. Everything is very salty, but I'm not complaining. I love salty tastes. And squeeze some lemon and you're doing great. They had so many flavors to flavor your seafood to choose from too - really fun actually! Again are they truly nuanced? Not exactly. Do they still deliver on taste variance? Yes. Is the value great? YES. We also had a great ceviche. No notes. And the cookie skillet - no notes. You can't go wrong with a cookie skillet. All in all, very Americana seafood taste, amazing value. Spent $85 for two ppl, feasted, and had more feast to take home. Also service was amazing. Everyone was friendly, fast, and willing to help. The young lady who said she took a 4 month break was AMAZING. so friendly, attentive, perky, and generous despite working for probably less tip than other joints! They also gave me a few extra scoop of ice cream on my skillet and free extra sauce. 10/10 service even though you gotta go to the counter to order, but after that they bring you the food. 8.9/10 - food 10/10 - value and getting what you should expect 10/10 - location was clean, orderly, spacious, no frills. Has it's own parking lot - that's huge! Has some outdoor seating too but it's just a small section in front of the parking lot.

The only thing missing from this food is... ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ ......... L-O-V-E. It's missing LOVE guys!!! Bluesalty, why do you salty, blue faced smurfs hate us so much that you want to serve us soggy, over salted but otherwise underseasoned slop? What the heck did we do to you? Are you just mad at the world and want to punish it by drolling out whatever 2-bit sloppy sloppy slop slop your kitchen wants to pimp out to it's paying customers? We live in a society. Please start acting like it. If restaurants were customers in a grocery store parking lot, Bluesalt Fish Grill would be the one leaving it's shopping cart in the middle of the parking lot and then peeling out in it's Scion Coupe with the 3 foot spoiler. Turn the bass (re: salt and sogginess) down at least a wee bit before you peel out. Never again... Save your hard earned money.

Excellent Food! Mahi Mahi Plate *wild Mahi Mahi Plate *wild Ahi Poke. Salmon burrito. Best meal!

Amazing Service Great quality food excellent price. Love the food and service! Everything was great fresh grilled fish tuna Poké bowl great selection of dessert. I like the carrot cake.

    Giant prawns (step 1 - $13.82) + peri peri spice rub (step 2) + and Mediterranean salad (step 3 - $7.70)

BlueSalt Fish Grill (established in 2010) is a fast-casual restaurant specializing in fresh seafood dishes and this is the flagship location. There's another location in Lomita. The restaurant was empty when our party came here at 11 AM, but soon the lunch crowd began to fill up this restaurant fairly quickly at 12 PM. [Parking]: The restaurant shares the same parking space as Chicken Dijon and Al Hamra Halal. [Ordering & menu]: Many customers here are return visitors who know exactly what to order. Visitors first order at the counter, grab a number, pick an available table, and food arrives. The menu looks like an encyclopedia, but it is a three-step ordering process: (Step 1) - Choose one of 15+ seafood options. (Step 2) - Choose one of 15+ seasoning options. (Step 3) - Choose two sides OR one of eight salad options. *** Giant prawns (step 1 - $13.82) + peri peri spice rub (step 2) + and Mediterranean salad (step 3 - spinach, arugula, grilled red pepper, zucchini, broccolini, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese, olives & balsamic dressing - $7.70): Peri peri spice rub had the right spicy level and prawns were cooked well. Mediterranean salad was pretty good with a good mix of ingredients. *** I really wish the menu is simpler with some recommended pre-built options, but otherwise this is a great spot for casual business or work lunch. P.S. - There's a small self-serve salsa bar.

    Are there soy-free options here?

    Yes

I like the places but do not like the messiness of the tacos or wraps. Falls out. Will they simply place the contents into a bowl if asked?

    Is there seating?

Yes - pretty plentiful seating, and parking is good too. This is one of my go-to seafood places in SoCal - huge variety of choices that they will customize for you, and many choices for sides.

What is the current corkage fee?

Thiscis a very casual place and not the kind you bring your own beverages to. They have a nice selection of beer and wine.

    Do they accept phone orders?

    Yes

Are the shrimp/prawns farm raised? If yes, what country do they come from and are they MSC certified

Look I would've given this place 3 stars, but the customer service and wait time was ridiculous. Hear me out, this is my experience from last Saturday. So first it can be challenging to find this place, since the pier has so many level to it. Look for the elevators. When you get there, for the first time, you see a main line, well for what? Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care! But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.

His recommendations were spot on, he was attentive without ever being intrusive, and when my girlfriend got a little chilly on the patio, he even brought her a blanket without us having to ask. Audio and video equipment was working well for the speeches and other presentations. It's a cool drive through the hills to get to the marina. I didn't take a lot of photos of the space. Servers were attentive and friendly. Parking attendants were quick to bring out our cars.

They were both made with Wagyu beef, which has lots of flavor in the sauce. The pasta as very well prepared!! The service is great, very respectful and responsive, although we arrived at 2:30p on a Friday which was a holiday (not so busy). Loved what they did with the space. They have multiple tables indoor and a cute little outdoor seating area with heaters if need be. They have a few parking spots, but they're in the back of the building. They only have one restroom which was very well maintained as well. Overall highly recommend this place. Ivan was very helpful!!

This is an overdue review. I went in for lunch during their soft opening and while I thought the…read morefood was outstanding, the service was nonexistent. The waitress taking my order had no personality and didn't check in on me after my food was brought over. I decided to bring my family for dinner, shortly after their official grand opening. I called in to ask if they had a table for four and I was assured they did have one available and would hold it for us over the next 20 minutes. We arrived within 13 minutes and were told that they didn't have anymore tables available and when I mentioned I'd called and one was promised to be held, I could see the "oh crap!" Look on the hostess' face. I was told once again that they didn't have a table available for us but we could sit outside in the cold, with no heater. Since I'd hyped the food up so much, my wife was eager to try it, so she asked that we sit outside and dine there; so I obliged. Service was once again mediocre. The food was tasting great when suddenly my wife spat something out; upon further examination it was literal broken glass! Seriously, broken glass! I immediately took the plate to the manager and he was apologetic and offered to "comp everything" or remake the dish. My wife was still hungry so she opted to have it remade. For me, the experience was ruined. I couldn't finish my meal, while my wife ate most of her remade meal. Once we got the check, my wife's meal was removed. I chose to not pursue the offer to "comp everything," further so I paid and we left. We've not been back and we've told everyone about our experience

Was looking for a spot to eat at manhattan beach and based on my trusty yelpers reviews this seemed…read morelike the foodie spot to try. They weren't wrong. We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.

I feel like the cost (with the economy as it is) makes sense. It is expensive, yes, but the freshness and quality of the food is so delightful, it breaks my heart to see the ratings go down because of it. Like many people in the reviews, I grew up with this place in my childhood. I used to come with my family to dine here, and it used to be SOOO busy. Getting seated with our group back then (7+ people) used to be an ordeal, but it was worth it every time. The most recent time I had went was as a party of 4, with my family and my boyfriend. The service was so lovely and sweet, the servers made us feel welcome right away and sat us by the window so we could watch the waves and sunset as we ate. My mom ordered most of the food, so I couldn't tell you the names, but we got lots of crab and a spicy sea stew that was very delightful. It was my boyfriend's first time trying the stew and he said he would come back and bring his family to try just that on its own. There's a parking structure that's attached to the pier, so parking is very easy to find. If you go during the day time, there are other shops and bars open for you to peruse and enjoy, but by the time we had finished eating, most of the other places had closed up shop haha. I definitely recommend trying this place at least once; the food, service, and view make up for the price in my humble opinion. Though, I feel like if you'll make it a semi-regular stop once you find yourself in Redondo.
