The service is friendly and the process of ordering is self-intuitive and easy and the time process is quick knowing it is custom cooked to order for every customer that can be 10-15 mins or so and you can be in and out dining in quickly or take a meal "to-go" quicker. The steak is or was, mediocre. This is a seafood restaurant and specialty. If you come here, I'd say don't do the surf and turf (steak) but opt for more seafood. Went here for a late night dinner and it was surprisingly pretty good! I ordered the salmon build your own plate with a Cesar salad and fries plus the ahi poke - both were delicious but the poke definitely stood out more than the salmon. It tasted fresh and really liked the sauce the had with it. I was especially surprised at the sheer amount of food I got for a $13 salmon plate! 2 huge portions of salmon plus the 2 sides is such a steal! I was treated to a birthday lunch here by my team at work, and this was only my second visit. We started with calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. Both were really good. The crab cakes came with a side salad and cilantro dressing. I had a bite, and it was tasty. For my entrée, I ordered the whole fried tilapia with sweet potato fries and Mediterranean veggies on the side. The fish was crispy and flavorful. I do wish it had a bit more salt, but the pickled onions it was served with made it delicious. I ended up eating the whole thing! The sweet potato fries were good and not oily at all. The veggies, however, were a bit underwhelming and too peppery for my taste. I only ate about a quarter of the serving, and I usually love vegetables. For dessert, I ordered the fantasy chocolate cake, which is a chocolate ganache cake. It was good, but I wish it had been more moist. My coworkers ordered the carrot cake and ube mascarpone, and I had a bite of each. The carrot cake was a bit dry, but the ube mascarpone was delicious and creamy. Similar concept to California Fish Grill, but with many more sides and options to choose from. I ordered the shrimp wrap and asked for the spicy mayo on the side since I can't eat spicy food. Without the sauce it ended up being a little bland, so I wish there had been a pico de gallo or another sauce option to add more flavor. My friends ordered the fish and shrimp taco plates. We also shared the Mediterranean octopus salad and the Brussels sprouts. In hindsight, we probably didn't need the extra dishes since the plates already come with sides and are pretty generous in portion. It was hot outside so opted to go inside, it was HOT inside, they had no A/C so that itself was already strike one. Wanted to try some crab cakes, it was brought to me, it was burnt. Strike 2 What really annoyed me was when I wanted some salt for my salmon, I find what looks like rust on the salt shaker lid. Disgusting. Nothing disappointed. The black bean salsa was refreshing and had a nice spice with the diced jalapeño. From the veggies to the main fish to the fry, everything has seasoning and flavor and is just a well rounded meal. My boyfriend and I were in the area and we found this restaurant from its excellent reviews. After trying the food I would say the reviews are well-deserved! We ordered some fish and shrimp tacos, the whole fried tilapia, and salmon from the grill with rice and corn with the thai dipping sauce. Every item on the menu was delicious. The whole fried fish could have used a touch more salt and could have been crispier, but with the accompanying house made sauces, it was absolutely delicious. The tacos were also impressive and the salmon plate was amazing as well. It was our first time visiting the restaurant and the owner (?) at the register was so kind and patient while he explained all the menu items to us. The restaurant is casual and the highlight was that everything on the menu was so affordable for great quality seafood. If I had to pick one thing to improve, it would be that some of the proteins needed a little more seasoning. Without all the sauces, they did come off the grill a little bland. One thing that was a little confusing this time: we placed an online pickup order and asked for a few salsas, which we've gotten for free many times before. We were told that because the order was placed online, there would be an extra charge for the sauces, even though they're free when ordering by phone or dining in. My trout was dry with no flavor at all. The service is minimal - place your order with the cashier and cross your fingers they got it right because once you've ordered that's it. "Service " is finished. We went during the holidays and the tables were tight. It was so uncomfortable. Been going to Blue Salt probably once a week for five years or so now. Pros- The best fish taco ive had yet in my life. Key to success here is add a side of one of their many salsas, and add extra chipotle crema. Salmon Taco Cajun on Corn is all you need to say when ordered. I have celiac disease and have never had a cross contamination issue with one of their tacos but I always make sure to check visually its the corn taco and not the flour before I eat it. Cons- They need a larger kitchen. You can tell they are stuffed to the brim in there and it translates over to the customer experience. You feel like they are rushed, cramped, and either need more help or more room but youre never quite sure which. -Thankfully none of this impacts the quality of the fish taco, just maybe the time it takes to order it read more

When we first found blue salt fish grill in Torrance, it was absolutely fantastic - a hidden gem. The fish was fresh and flavorful, the sides were scrumptious. But the last multiple times we went things have really gone downhill including at the Redondo Beach location. The sides are more stale and soggy, the fish quality has gone down and is more dry now too. Service is good. Restaurant is fairly casual stop. Pricing is good if the quality of food is good. Helpful staff, good service and a great plate of food for a reasonable price! I got the grilled fish plate which comes where you pick a fish, a sauce and two sides. I got the mahi with herb & garlic butter, roasted potatoes and zucchini ribbons (an extra $1.50 for that side). They don't skimp on anything and my plate could be portioned into 2 meals! The herb & garlic butter was pretty standard, the fish was meaty and filling and the zucchini was grilled well! My favorite part was the potatoes though.
