The Baseline: For a sit down semi-casual restaurant is the quality of the food, existence of any unique offerings, quality of the service, and value of the overall dining experience. Food: Portion size... you will not go hungry. Quality is great but it is a big menu which always scares me a bit so I will go on what I ordered. #1- Fish tacos were deep fried battered with a nice meaty portion of white fish. The slaw and sauce on the taco was flavorful and nicely balanced. The beans and rice were a nice accompaniment but it stays at nice. The salsa that came with the chips was really good on flavor and thickness with a flavor combo I have never experienced and in a great way. This is a great fish tacos plate. #2- The Philly Cheese Steak was a good solid sandwich with jalapeños miked in for the pepper/onion combo. It is a good take but if you are a Philly cheesesteak purest you will not find that with this version. The size of the sandwich was huge and I could only down one half. The meat was well cooked beef shaved and layered well. The cheese had a nice melt so you will like this version of a cheese steak. The fries... they are "bag fries" but well prepared. I got a portion of their BBQ sauce which made them better, but I love fries so I want to see fresh cut fries. Service: Great service for a late in the evening stop in. The restaurant was waning down but we were treating like it was gearing up. Ambiance: Part diner / Part SoCal Brunch place vibe. It is in the corner of a local motel in Manhattan Beach and has a good amount of parking. Restaurant is relatively new and is clean/well kept.

Eggs, potatoes, meat, and more. Huge portions.

Big menu, big portions and reasonably priced. Quality and quantity at this restaurant. Service is friendly and quick and there are loads of choices on the menu. My wife, myself, and my kids have only gotten breakfast items from this place and they don't disappoint. The place is very clean, bright, and tastefully decorated. The only problem is, is that there is limited parking. I will be back.

Our first visit. They did a nice job updating the place while keeping the locals vibe. I liked the lengthy, easy to read menu. I chose a blackened mahi sandwich and fries while my wife had a fried chicken salad that was supposed to include Brussels sprouts. Her salad looked limp and there were no Brussels to be seen. Somehow she still claimed to like the salad. My sandwich was 85% bread. My fries were not the kind I like at all. There was a lot of attention on the eye appeal and the crispy outside, but the inside is just mush. I did enjoy my $9 vanilla milkshake. I should have ordered from the breakfast items and will come back someday to do so, but never again for lunch.

Brand new place on PCH in Manhattan Beach. Great breakfast spot. Large portion sizes and reasonable prices. Lots of parking. Ally was our server and was awesome! She was efficient and friendly. Inside seating fills up fast so we opted for the patio which was really nice. Breakfast nachos were good but too much for 1 person. The breakfast sandwich was delicious.

Come hungry because portion sizes are HUGE!!! I had the avocado toast and it had nice candied pecans on top . . Would have liked a little more avocado but it was delicious! Comes with either fruits or potatoes . . The fruits were delicious! Comes with scrambled eggs. There is indoor and outdoor seating with parking in the back . .

Tater Tots (extra crispy) with a side of ketchup.

Location is slightly hidden, and signage is black and white, lower to the ground and easy to pass by! But there was enough free parking, though shared with the motel (Seahorse Inn) next door. Patio seating looked inviting...yet abutted the parking lot (which was a "no go" for me--I don't like exhaust and loud radios with my meals, usually!). Inside had limited seating: ~ 5 or 6 two-tops and then several four-tops that could be pushed together for larger groups. Being sat and getting a menu was quite quick at 12:30pm on a Wednesday! I ordered a side of Tater Tots, extra crispy; and the Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Pasta with garlic bread. Also water and Diet Pepsi. Drinks came quickly, but were only refilled upon my request...servers didn't maintain regular check-ins or monitoring of my water and soda. Tots were extra crispy and enough for an entree size--DELICIOUS! Ask for a side of mayo too...get all the savory, crispy goodness you deserve. Worth the $6.50 price. "Cajun" was a bit of a let down, containing just 4 medium-sized (20s?) shrimp that were slightly blackened on one side and a little rubbery on the other. Chicken chunks were also slightly blackened but relatively bland. The Parmesan/Garlic cream sauce was also average for the name and description. A liberal heaping of black pepper still didn't spice this dish up enough to even move the heat dial close to "Cajun for white people"... #SorryNotSorry. The garlic bread was OK too, a hunk of ciabatta with salamandered Parmesan cheese and butter. Not worth $24.95. I paid for everything with the InKind app (prepaid $$ to an app that supports new and unique eateries around the country!), which made check-out very simple and self-initiated once I got the bill. Input the receipt's #, choose pay, et voíla, complête! Overall, the menu had a lot of options and seemed "American" in most of its cuisine. Others eating sandwiches/hamburgers with a huge helping of side French Fries made me jealous for something other than my bland, non-spicy, average pasta. Maybe next time. Without an actual view of the ocean or other perks to this busy thoroughfare-side eatery, $40+ tip for this meal seemed awfully inflated for the average-ness of the service and the entree.

This place is a gem and I'd totally gatekeep this place but I won't be stingy. The food is amazing and the portion sizes are huge. I apologize for the messy picture but this is after I ate a LOT already! Don't let the image fool you. It was delicious! The coffee is tasty with nice big mugs and the service was fantastic. The music was nice, upbeat and comfortable. I'll definitely come back here.

    Inside

Manhattan location for brunch, downtown Torrance for dinner! We love this company - they have the BEST service, kindest team. Both locations are comfortable and fun, exact same amazing food quality. We've never had a bad or mediocre plate here and we've tried probably 40% of the menu. Loving the diner vibes of this new location and especially love ICED LATTES AND MOCHA !!! Stoked on that. Fav new breakfast spot - thanks again guys!

Delicious! Great food. Wonderful and friendly service. Awesome ambiance and large portions. What an upgrade from the former restaurant that was here. They serve breakfast all day as well! I have a ample wine and beer selection, and a couple of signature cocktails. The decor inside is like a beachy relaxed bistro feel. We will definitely be back!

    Monte cristo

I checked out a new spot with my husband on a Sunday around 1pm and was excited to try it. We were quoted a 20-minute wait, which was totally fine. There were quite a few open tables, so I assumed they might've been catching up or short-staffed. A couple of parties ahead of us ended up waiting longer than we did, even as tables opened up, which was a bit confusing. We were seated after about 35 minutes, and then it took a while before anyone came to greet us. At that point, there were only about six tables occupied and at least three servers on the floor, so the delay stood out. That said, the food made a good impression. We ordered the Monte Cristo and the mahi sandwich--both were tasty and came in generous portions. The menu is huge, and there's a lot I'd still love to try. I get they just opened and I will definitely come back, just hoping they smooth out the flow of service next time!

    Great views and patio

First of all my server (manager) was Aliee, she is the sweetest and so attentive and helpful, her recommendations are great, she really knows her stuff, 100% get the Cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp. The busser Erik is super nice too. So excited to have this spot near me, will be a regular. Also breakfast all day , love it.

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

Overall, I'd say the servers/chefs are…read moreincredibly nice and friendly and they spend a lot of time explaining the concept of each dish. The restaurant is very quaint located in a trendy and busy area of Hermosa Beach. Parking is scarce, even the lot a few blocks away is packed. Some of the dishes had nice flavor but since the place is chef-run, timeliness was an issue. It takes about 45 minutes per course because I'm sure there's a lot of pride invested in each dish. Since the portions are so tiny, you have a lot of time to talk. We started with the mussel tart. This was very tasty with smoked clam and fennel cream. The pastry coating was light but chewy. I would say the presentation was appealing but it reminded me of a Star Wars fighter jet. I was looking forward to the fish dish since we were hungry. Kinilaw is a local fish I wasn't familiar with. It was served with sweet potato and cucumber with coconut flavor. It was a tad underwhelming mostly because we were wondering where the fish was (see photo). The salad had nice flavor but I was not fond of the presentation. Either the plate was too big or this was a "half salad" concept. They are well known for the chili crab and it was delicious. However, this was another case of "where's Waldo" when trying to share the Santa Barbara rock crab meat. The porchetta felt like a heartier hot main dish. Very crispy skin and tender meat. Again dividing by four a bit challenging. Our server recommended it and it was a good suggestion. The broccoli purée and black eye peas were a unique accompaniment. The lamb pappardelle was an essential hot dish. The sausage was lamb and cumin with kale sprinkled on top. This dish was delicious and would be very shareable for two. The dessert was banana-themed. Our server was so pleasant and served it with a smile on an oversized plate. The place and staff are quite nice. The dishes, for the most part, are flavorful. Just be sure to have a few hours for dinner and don't expect to be too full.

Literally everything we ordered exceeded out expectations. - The Falafel sliders are the most ordered item for a reason. Absolutely incredible with the perfect amount of flavor; deliciously crispy falafel and amazing buns. We ordered this dish twice! It was that damn good. - The crispy bread sounds pretty straight forward but it was also a standout. High quality bread all nice and toasty paired with this incredible olive-infused butter. - The Tunisian bruschetta almost got ordered twice as well. The tuna was phenomenal and makes for a great shared plate. I'm a sucker for any dish with an egg on it so will 100% be ordered this next time we stop in. We opted for a few small dishes to share, including: - Kanpachi ceviche (4/5) very light and refreshing. Wish there were more of the fish, though - Sugar cube melon and lemon cucumber salad (5/5) super ripe cantaloupe and plenty of zing in every bite. My favorite dish! - Hand rolled spaghetti (3.5/5) it was a pesto spaghetti dish that was very flavorful, but I wasn't blown away by the handmade spaghetti: it could've been more al dente and the sauce didn't really taste like pesto; I tasted mostly lemon. A bit overly salty, too - Smoked and 1/2 fried chicken (3.5/5) the chicken was beautiful fried, with a thin yet hardy crackling interior that I hadn't quite had before in fried chicken. Sauce was sweet in its soy sauce base, but some cuts of meat were on the dry side - Coffee toffee pudding (3/5) probably the weakest of the bunch: we waited 8-10 minutes for it (as advertised), and it came in...a mug?? Not the most beautifully-presented, and overall, I did not get a lot of the pudding inside, mostly the toppings. Given that it's $12 for otherwise a microwavable dessert, it was disappointing - Chocolate flan (5/5) now this hit the spot! Honestly, it didn't even taste like flan, but rather a very smooth cheesecake. We're glad we added it on at the last minute! Overall, plenty of punchy flavors and innovative dishes that change monthly. However, the price point ($33+) per dish for such small plates is a bit much, but I can see myself returning for special occasions (and their breakfast burritos)!

The fact that they speak Italian adds to the feel of authenticity and the waitstaff was on point the whole night. The dim lighting with the real wax candles, adds a intimate touch. The food started with a simple Hamachi Crudo, which was simple and elegant. The warm bread that accompanied it is a nice and appreciated surprise at the beginning of the meal. Next up was the octopus, which was served warm, and was not rubbery or chewy at all. The eggplant Parmesan was a little bit on the colder side, but taste wise very sweet, tender, and you could tell each portion was made lovingly. The gnocchi was soft, creamy, rich, and decadent, and the sauce was equally rich and a great pairing. When you were only served five pieces of gnocchi, somehow you feel more appreciative of each bite and that was certainly the case here. You probably wouldn't want to eat a whole bowl of the stuff as it was extremely rich and luxuriously creamy. The last dish was the tiramisu which had a strong coffee flavor.
