Fast service and amazing sandwiches~ My go to place for a casual meal with friends or family. I've been to board and brew many times in San Clemente, first time here at the lake forest location. The restaurant is spacious with indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. My BF got the blonde beer ($5) and the Italians sub ($10) and I got the Baja wrap ($10) and the board and brew IPA ($6). You can order both beer and food at the bar seating. Food came out super quickly~ My Baja wrap was with freshly cooked chicken with bell peppers and melted cheese. Tried a bit of my BFs Italian sub~ simple flavors with lots of veggies. The secret sauce is to die for here, it adds a creamy flavor to any of the sandwich! They have TVs here so perfect place to grab food and drinks to watch some sports game. Board and brew never disappoints and have to say this is the best chain sandwich in Orange County! read more

Came back in again for their BOGO event a couple weeks back- this time got my usual Italian and partner got the baja wrap. Both were much better sandwiches than last time around! The place was suuuper busy despite the buckets of rain that were pouring down! We have been enjoying coming by in March as well for their $3 beer deal and getting two of our favorite hazys- the Madewest Hazy IPA & Harland Hazy IPA! Love that we can check online to see the tap list and where the kegs are at to figure out if it's worth stopping by or not! Love this place! We had been to RSM and Laguna Niguel locations prior to lake forest opening. These guys make excellent sandwiches consistently. Never been disappointed. My husband and I share a sandwich which is a perfect amount. Their pastrami is to die for. Not the grocer6 store kind but real fresh pastrami, so delicious. Their beers are so reasonably priced we had to take a second look at our bill. We get their Amber Ale which is so good. A few commented about grand opening, I hear you it was crazy there so I am sure many left frustrated. We did get the BOGO special and it was clearly hectic but we were impressed when the owner was personally greeting every table asking about their experience he said it was the busiest grand opening then any other of their previous restaurants. I would encourage you to give it another try. If you can choose a warm day, enjoy the outside patio w a cold one. read more

I'm so glad they opened one up in oc! I like how the place is a combination of dining tables, bar seating, and even outdoor seating! Plenty of screens on to watch the games and the staff is always friendly whenever I've come to visit. Board and brew normally has a great food and a great vibe but I guess just not this location. Barely any turkey in my sandwich. Got a beer and tipped and wish I didn't had a about a little less then half my beer left and while I was sitting there on a phone call bartender came took my beer and didn't even ask if I was done. So pretty much just took $6 of beer and poured it down the drain. Not sure if it was her first shift as a bartender, but if someone has 40-60% of their drink left you don't take it without asking or even try and take it in general ? If you're looking for basic service and basic food come here ! They don't specialize in nothing else . No sides besides chips you can get from subway . This is just a subway with beer . I spent nearly $300 on a catering order this weekend. Portion size for the catering boxes was huge, especially the mammoth sized salads. Sandwiches were subpar, but this was likely due to the fact that they had absolutely no condiments. So my main complaint is that the catering order clearly said to provide utensils, napkins and plates, and to have condiments on the side. Only the utensils were supplied as requested. I had to ask for the plates. The worker assured me that the napkins were in the boxes; they were not. And no condiments were provided. Not great. read more

So, I couldn't order the food. I walked in there because this location is newer and I wanted to give it a shot, but I I couldn't place an order because they had an insane amount of flies. It was actually disgusting and I lost my appetite because I could only imagine how much food was contaminated with flies landing on it. It just felt dirty. Yah! A great vegetarian sandwich, abundant in size. As a vegan, however I have to downgrade it and minus one star. Vegan have only 1 option: veggie supreme and have to hold/pull off two kinds of cheese, and Mayo. I also ordered without red onion, so that makes it smaller for a vegan versus vegetarian who might leave all that on. With a special dipping sauce, it's still a healthy filling choice for $11! With a fountain drink (vitamin water or lemonade) it hits over $15, but still under $20. I'll clean seating, air conditioning, fast friendly service. The one thing B&B could do to make it better, is to offer a Very Vegan Veggie Supreme and price it under $10 for the absence of cheese, Mayo & meat. read more

They have cheaper beers on game nights, but I'm not a sports bar fan so the ambience was a little loud for me. Try the Cali Creamin' beer on tap. It's unparalleled. It's trying to be a local bar, and seems like it might be succeeding. Each time we have been there, the bar area is completely filled with people (mostly men) who seem to be permanent fixtures. One side of the building is pretty much completely open and this creates a wind tunnel effect in the building. The food is good, sandwiches mostly, and the beer is good. But the ambience makes me stay away. read more

I even tried to buy a gift card for a friend so she could try the place, but the staff told me that I couldn't purchase a Board & Brew gift card with the Lake Forest Shop and Dine card. I checked the website where I purchased the card, and it didn't mention any restrictions on what I could buy. It's confusing why Board & Brew would have this restriction, especially since the card is essentially money for them. I'd watched this shop going in for several months, apparently taking much longer than expected to finally open. They snail-mailed a card with several coupons on it, so it seemed a great reason to give B&B a try. I'd seen other shops in this small chain but had never eaten at one. One coupon was for a couple bucks off on any turkey sandwich. Much as I'm an Italian or a roast beef fan, there's nothing wrong with turkey so over I went. Door were propped open on an extremely windy "red flag" day, so bags of chips in the racks kept blowing onto the floor from the outside weather. Not a problem, but unusual. The place was quite clean as would be expected from a new facility. The counter staff was friendly. I tried the turkey club. It came out quite quickly, and this was a non-trivial sandwich! I was surprised at the weight - they did not skimp on the sandwich, to put it mildly. Pricing may be just a tad above average, but given the amount of stuff one couldn't complain. I took it home to enjoy. The roll was hefty and quite fresh. It came with a small plastic container of some sort of sauce. That sauce wasn't the usual thousand island dressing one gets at fast food chains - it seemed to be very similar to French dressing. It was excellent, and really complemented the terrific sandwich. I really enjoyed my meal. I don't give five stars routinely, but based on this single visit they deserve it. B&B seems to be a first-class sandwich shop. read more

Well.. the food! The sandwiches are fantastic! Ordering online was fantastic! When I went to pick it up a young girl with a big curly perm looked at me. Said nothing till I said "I'm picking up" she looked at me.. no expression, no smile just said "did you order online?!" The Turkado Sandwich is solid with freshness and flavor. Light on the stomach. Board and Brew just opened so I am being as kind as I can and highlighting the sandwich that has hope and promise. The Pastrami was good just very heavy. Fresh but longing for higher quality meat, but hey it's a deli not a gourmet restaurant I get it. Just didn't sit well with digestion. The Beef Dip was the miss by far. The meat just wasn't that great, didn't have a fresh look even and needed to be covered in horseradish cream to save it. A heavy feeling too when consuming.
