Too much meat, dry(and I added Mayo) I think there was bacon on it too‽ bacon doesn't always improve things. An Italian is cured meats, oil and vinegar, sauces, tomato and peppers. First time and visited the Oceanside location. The young lady at the counter was perfectly friendly and patient with all our questions as we learned the menu. Ordered Tub O Tuna & Turkado on squaw bread- deeelish!! We took the young lady's advice and went with the toasted option. Fresh ingredients. The only negative and for some this is probably a positive, is there was simply too much avocado on my sandwich. It gets too wet for my preference. Oh the secret sauce is amazing! Mixes perfectly with the tuna and with the turkey. My husband and I poured that sauce on our sandwiches. It was not the reason for the wetness on my sandwich. We both loved our sandwiches so much we went to the Carlsbad location and repeated the order. My feedback for the Carlsbad location is to have friendlier staff at the counter. Customer service makes or breaks businesses- like your job or don't work in customer service oriented business. I don't recall the kids name who took our order but he needs to learn to enjoy his job. I'm giving this place a 5 star based off of the sandwich called "Left Coast Pastrami"! Let me say....OMG!!! It's soooo good! Best Board and Brew hands down! So far, I have visited Del Mar, Carlsbad Village, Del Sur, Miramar, Bressi Ranch, and this is by far my favorite location. The vibe is always right and the sandwiches are amazing every time. Some locations can feel a little cliquey or the sandwiches can be sub par but at this location I always get good, welcoming service and yummy food. O'side is awesome and consistent! I think Del Sur and Carlsbad are also pretty good locations but can't say the same for Bressi Ranch. I've always had the absolute worst service there and their sandwiches don't seem up to par. After over 20 years of managing restaurants you develop an eye for what is working in places you walk into. This place is working. The restaurant is always clean and everyone on staff is keeping it that way, together. The restaurant is efficient, (I'm dashing), and they are always on time and accurate. The restaurant is warm and approachable, staff is kind and helpful. My understanding of this business, restaurants, is that all the characteristics of a successful restaurant, flow from the top down, meaning this restaurant is led and led well. Ayla you are doing an amazing job supporting your staff to be successful, reaching out to guests to build you clientele and focusing on the bigger picture to do what is necessary to get things done. He corrected and refunded an order mistake from your carlsbad location and made it right! Went in with my wife for happy hour and a sandwich, they were temporarily out of her favorite horse radish sauce for the French dip and made a new batch especially for her. I LOVE this place! What better place to grab a bite to eat, kids are welcome and you can grab a beer! I love the beachy vibes here and how relaxing it is. It doesn't feel like you are in a shopping mall area, feels like you are by the beach! I ordered the green salad and it was FANTASTIC! The chicken was superb and the Cesar dressing was tasty. My boyfriend had the pastrami which was amazing! Sooo delicious and those grilled onions were to die for! I have been going to board and brews for few years but during the pandemic stopped so much. Prior to today would have had five stars, ordered few things for my family. Ok you handed it to me and I asked if everything was in there, ok so missing chips and sauce, fine I called to see if they could credit me back and the guy offered gift card. Ok fine. But then about to pour salad dressing on salad and it looked funny. I knew better. I tasted, sour. Turned it over and was dated over a week ago. This place is fantastic! Not only is their food bomb, but their customer service is amazing! I called in an order to pickup and right before I got there my sick 2 yr old finally fell asleep in the car. I called them and they ran my order out to me, which they definitely didn't have to do. Only been to the bressi ranch location and loved it and came here and didn't love it. Sandwich was made beyond sloppy and not nearly as good as the bressi ranch location. I was so happy when this location opened up! Only 15 min away from our house!! The food is made EXACTLY the same way it's made at any other B&B location which is a plus!
