Angie was a great help in assisting me with creating my "birthday party" event and Gray was a great teacher to provide the knowledge and guidance needed to all of us newbies. He walked us through each of the different types of glass and textures and how to apply the colored glass pieces. We had a separate room and were given a lot of options to choose from for each individual project. Everyone had a great time and had so much fun coming up with creative ideas for their projects. Very patient, very knowledgeable and saved my wife's vase from disaster (I got a bit over zealous on the blowing part). After we finished, they explained the cool down process (it takes about a week) and we scheduled our pickup time. The whole experience, for both of us, wasn't that expensive and we had a great time. I attended the Valentine's Wheel Throwing Couples Special back in February 2020. Who knew this…read morewould be one of the last fun events for me, prior to Covid and without the masks and physical distancing! Now, it's a much cherished memory! Bonnie, who is the Charming Owner, prepared a truly amazing evening for us. It was only 4 couples, so we got a lot of attention from Two Experienced Instructors. My husband and I did try working with the rolled-out clay before, but we wanted to try the wheel throwing and that was exactly what this evening was about! And it is true what everyone says: it is very very difficult, even though it looks simple at a first glance. With some much needed help, we were able to take a few cups and dishes home. The atmosphere was lovely. There was a table with delicious snacks (cheese plate and crackers, dips, and lovely sweets, including chocolate covered strawberries!) for us and complimentary wine and bubbles. That surely boosted my confidence, as neither me, nor my husband had any clue about the wheel throwing and centering :) The Instructors were very patient, if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to do anything, as it turned out I was hopeless with the wheel. It was a fun, hands-on night in a relaxing atmosphere, with music and wine. No prior experience was needed. The clay is unlimited, but you will not leave with your piece in hand, as it needs some drying, curing and baking. We left our pieces for glazing (they had a choice of several colors) and baking. They were ready for pick after several days. The clay is wet and messy, so don't come dressed up, it's a more casual feel. I am really interested in the many events Bonnie is organizing. The Cocktails and Clay series is very popular and sells out fast. Each time there is a different piece, so you can come multiple times. They also offer a more classic technique-forward course and many classes for kiddos! Throughout the pandemic, Bonnie had some awesome events, where you could pick a ready dish for painting at home etc. I am so looking forward to coming back at some point! There is nothing more relaxing than making your hands busy & dirty, and train your creative muscles, while forgetting the daily worries. Very relaxing and fun!

The lady didn't seem very friendly. Every time we've ever come in we've picked a table. Well not today as I was sitting my mom down the lady told us she had just sat 2 people there. So she told us to move. She wasn't friendly and just not a friendly environment today. My daughter who never says anything asked if we could leave. Very disappointed in our experience. We decided to pop in and check this place out on a Saturday morning, unknowing what we were getting ourselves into. We just needed to get out of the house. On the left side of the shop is a wall FULL of unfinished ceramics starting at $7 and going up. You choose what you'd like to paint (we went with a few different items) and then you get started! The kid wall is full of little animal statues like penguins, peacocks, elephants, bears. For the adults there's mug, ornaments, plates. You can add on smaller pieces for $1 or decorate a cute ceramic letter. There's so many different selections that you could come back 10 times and still find something new to paint. They have everything you need as far as paints, brushes, smocks, sponges, stamps. Go at your own pace, use whatever design your heart desires and they glaze and fire it for you. Keep in mind, this process takes one week so you can't take it home right away. Plan for one week if you're giving as a gift. As for pricing, you purchase your item for whatever is written on it and then for kiddos it's $5 flat fee, adults is $7 flat fee on top of your piece. My kiddo painted 3 things and it was under $20. Our finished pieces are so cute and my kiddo treasures hers in her room. Can't wait to go back! AND we snagged a couple gift cards for Mammaw and Nana! I hope Doodlin never leaves!

AR could definitely upgrade this experience by including pick up instructions in the confirmation email. I was given a list of times I could pick up my order. Waited a few days and headed into the shop... nothing was prepared. I had a very small slice of time to pick up my order and unfortunately it took far too long. I would very highly recommend you call ahead to confirm to your order is in fact ready. Sadly, I was hoping for some cute gift packaging... maybe some tissue paper or literally anything besides just the wood and paints. My piece of plank wood does not sit flat and the handles were different than pictured. Overall, an extremely "meh" experience but the ladies who work there are super nice and that's important.

Personalized signs to decorate your house, pillows, yard signs, etc. Think of all the cutest stuff at Home Goods but with your personal touch. Visit their website to pick a workshop to attend. Each workshop has a selection of projects for you to choose from. You enter your name, year, or whatever personal info they need to set up your project. When you arrive all of your supplies and your stencil is waiting for you. You spend the next couple hours working on your creation with the guidance of the owner or other employees, and at the end you have an awesome new piece of art to take home. I am not at all creative but they make it fool proof! The owner Katie and her mom were running the show the afternoon I attended my first workshop. I was nervous to mess something up, but between them and my friend who had attended a previous workshop I was able to create a personalized sign that will go perfect in my living or dining room. (It definitely helped that I was with someone who knew what they were doing. My only critique is that there were times I had to wait for direction or wasn't super clear what I was doing. If you're more patient than me and not afraid to ask questions though, it's really not an issue.) I can't wait to come back and create something for my daughter's room or gifts for my mom and sister. Everything is so cute and I want to do all the projects! I'll be back! Oh yeah, and it's BYOB. :) My friend and I split of bottle of cider as we worked. Seriously, perfect Saturday!
