We were in the area looking for a place to get breakfast and this place came up with good reviews so we decided to check it out. We got the breakfast burrito with bacon. The burrito itself was good, but the sauces available were not the best for the burrito. They had 3 salsas, I did the one with no spice and it was okay. My boyfriend asked for a aioli sauce but that had no flavor. I think what makes a good burrito is a good sauce and that is what's missing here. We ordered the banana matcha but when we got it, I noticed it was just a regular matcha which was actually good. So my boyfriend went back to the counter and got the banana cold foam and that actually made the drink worse. The cold foam didn't taste good at all, it ruined the drink. I actually wish we would have just stayed with the regular matcha cause that was good. Just on those two things (we shared the burrito) was $30. A great start to our Sunday morning at Boardriders Cafe! We loved the space - it's cute, beachy, laid-back, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the Banana Bliss Latte and Brown Sugar Latte. Both were good, but not necessarily our favorites. It might be the espresso, which tasted a little more acidic than what I typically prefer. The breakfast bowl with chicken sausage, though? SO yum! I think the chicken sausage and salsa is made in-house, and both were so flavorful. Potatoes, eggs, your choice of protein, sauces...what's not to like?! Service was also great, and our order was ready really quickly. After seeing posts on FB, I wanted to check this place out. It's in a strip mall, but not too crowded when I arrived around 10am. I had the iced bananas latte and a chorizo breakfast burrito. The latte was tasty and sweet. It was also quick to make, so that was appreciated. The burrito was grilled with a nice crunch on the exterior. The salsas were delicious. The only thing was the liquids dripping from the burrito before I added salsa. I wasn't sure what that was from, but otherwise it was fine. The atmosphere is a fun vibe. read more

This place was amazing! They're super dog friendly which is a bonus always for me, they have treats and water bowls. The staff also were so friendly!! The girl noticed i was struggling holding everything by myself so brought everything to my table. Initially I had a substitute for my drink (latte instead of americano) and they called my name and the same female staff noticed right away even before I got there that the mistake was made. This shows the cafe is responsive and accountable! I will 100% be back. Breakfast burrito was also a DREAM. i don't usually enjoy breakfast burritos because of the way they tend be extremely heavy and oily, but this breakfast burrito was made with fresh ingredients, with nothing frozen. A nice little cafe in a quiet HB plaza! I came here on a Monday morning for brunch and tried their seasonal Pistachio drinks. The coffee and matcha were both delicious! They had a strong matcha and coffee taste even with the Pistachio cream top, which I've had at other places and they were too milky. I also got the Chicky Chicky Bang Bang wrap which had grilled chicken. I was expecting it to be a cold wrap but it was freshly grilled chicken so it was hot and juicy! Lots of sauce oozing outside lol not sure I would get it again but I would come back to try their other foods like the breakfast bowls, burritos, sandwiches, and other drinks!! The atmosphere is really cute with very HB decorations. There's plenty of tables and would be a good spot to get some work done. Restrooms are also very nice and clean which is a plus! read more

There's nothing to complain about when coming to Boardriders. The people here are amazing and always have a positive attitude. The place is always lively and bustling whenever I walk in. I've basically been coming here since they opened summer of 2025 and realized from Day 1 that they make the absolute best breakfast burritos/bowls in all of SoCal. I crave it every other week. I also appreciate how much effort and creativity they put into their drink creations while also maintaining how tasty they are. The smash burgers that are only available on Sundays are so worth it! What a beautiful cafe. I love the vibe- it's very welcoming with a lot of energy. The food is AHMAZING! No seed oils , the bacon is smoked on site. The best bacon I have ever had. The portions are generous. We've been twice , both on Sunday after church. The first was just for coffee and matcha drinks. They have a seasonal menu- all very good. The second time, we had breakfast. My husband had a chorizo bowl. 4/5 I had the croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon. 10/5. It was delicious! The bacon was mouthwatering. Next stop on my quest to find the best coffee in OC was this cute establishment. I went for the banana bliss coffee, which everyone said was so delicious. I was very tempted to get a breakfast burrito, but I wasn't that hungry but it's definitely on my radar for next time. I did however snag a fresh pressed green juice along with my coffee. In my opinion, the banana bliss coffee was not life-changing. It was a decent coffee, but the banana cream topper didn't stand out. Maybe it's because I drink my coffee with a straw so maybe that's why I wasn't getting the correct sips but the tropical green juice was amazing. It was so good even my picky five-year-old loved it. This is such a very low-key and freshly new place. I love how only true locals know about it. A bit on the pricier side for my coffee and my juice. I paid almost 20 bucks but that seems to be about the going rate for specialty coffee and quality juice in this area. The cashier was also very nice and helped me navigate the coffee options. I'll definitely be back to try a different coffee and hopefully I'll have an appetite for breakfast. read more

Came to this super cute, surf vibes coffee shop for my husband's birthday! Very clean and friendly staff. Tried this place out which is in a quaint strip mall off brookhurst and bushard near the beach. We were blown away be the super chill surf vibe, family friendly service of the staff and the amazing menu. All of their food is clean which is so rare these days. The OJ was fresh squeezed and was so good. the coffee drinks rival in any specialty coffe store and the almond croissant was in a word...perfect. Now for the best part (drumroll) the breakfast burrito is the best in all of Huntington Beach. The brown sauce took me back to my college days in san diego eating the classic burritos from santanas. This beats that joy of my younger years any day of the week. I hate sharing all of this because the line is about to get long. This will become your go to place once you have tried it. read more

Met a buddy of mine for breakfast here on Sunday, 7/19/26. First of all, the place is clean, and open. Very nice ambiance. I ordered the breakfast bowl and a large coffee, and it was DELICIOUS! The portion was large, the eggs were fluffy, the bacon, so tasty, the potatoes were perfectly cooked and the avocados were ripe and it was topped with a nice tangy and slightly spicy dressing. It was a good call. But the real star of the show was the coffee. The owner suggested the "Sergio" coffee and it is made in a cafe' de la olla style, meaning it is flavored with cinnamon and whatever else was in it was some of the best coffee I have ever had. My buddy had the breakfast tacos, which he said were great, but next time, he would probably order the bowl that I had. Overall, a great breakfast. Thank you to the staff and the owner for suggesting the coffee. It made my day! read more

The 'Upside Down Latte' was one of the worst coffee's I have ever had. Aside from it being visually unappealing, the coconut cold foam tasted awful and the espresso was very weak. I came across this cute cafe in the middle of a residential area during my volunteer route and I've already been back 3 times. I've only ever done to go, but it seems like a fun spot to dine in. I came on a weekend an hour before they were to close and it was a packed house both inside and outside! The patio is spacious and very dog friendly with plenty of treats and water out. The joy from everyone, especially the employees, the family (kids and grandpa of the establishment), and customers make it so welcoming. I brought my Pomeranian who isn't fond of kids, but to my shock, my dog loved one of the daughters of Boardriders! I have never seen my Pom be so nice to a child-it made my day. Aside from the great environment of this place, the food is delicious! I love the breakfast bowl & their salsas. Their salsa is a help yourself which was such a relief to see. At other places that charge for extra salsa, it's not fun trying to ration one small cup of salsa for the entire meal. I got my boyfriend a chorizo breakfast burrito with no cheese & sour cream. He said it was really good & he'd want to have it again! That says a lot cause the last 3 places he's had breakfast burritos at, he didn't approve. (My son who's been numerous times recommended sausage but I couldn't resist bacon). Met a friend at Boardriders Cafe for breakfast and wow, I am a happy woman. I love small independently owned cafe's for breakfast and Fountain Valley is lacking them. We checked out the menu, decided on what we wanted, stepped up to the counter to order and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We placed our orders, and before we could sit, my tea was ready and the coffee is on the counter so my friend filled the cup and we found a table. Not long after we were seated our food was up and at the table. I had the breakfast tacos. The were scrumptious. Filled with hot scrambled egg, potatoes, cheese and a tangy sauce. They are street taco size, but filled to the brim so it was really nice that each taco was two tortillas to hold the filling. My friend had the breakfast burrito and loved it. It too was filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, potato and a sour cream sauce, he added bacon. Everything was hot, fresh and filled with flavor and seasonings. I love this little spot and will absolutely go again and again, I love a good breakfast out. A note about the coffee, I am not a coffee drinker, but my friend said it was really great. There is a charge for refills as the owners were finding guests were coming in and working at the tables and refilling their cups 3 or 4 times throughout their stay. They buy really expensive coffee beans and just couldn't eat the cost of those refilling so much. So just know if you want a refill there is a small charge. Parking is a bit tricky as it is located in a small strip mall, and they do get busy. There is plenty of seating inside and they also have an outdoor patio which is so nice. They also cook with no seed oil which is important and I appreciate that effort. Can't wait to go back! read more

We're running the NSSA National Championships at HB pier and Billy Webb and Ian McArthur generously donated breakfast for the officials. And MAN WAS THAT A HUGE TREAT!! They brought us breakfast sandwiches with bacon, tomato, aioli and a spring mix on it. Man, it was so delicious!
