Stopped in for a quick coffee while doing some full blown tourist shopping. Wife already had a Starbucks but I decided to try this. While the shot in my latte was pulled good and not sour, the beans were just not good beans, or not a good roast. This flavor is exactly the type of bean I try to avoid, I would pass this up and go to Starbucks for more depth of flavor and a much smoother roast. Service was fine, and the ambiance is pretty neat being inside a surf shop, but when I'm looking for coffee, I need GOOD coffee, not just convenience and ambience. read more

This is a nice little coffee joint inside Huntington Surf and Sport. They have a nice variety of drinks, breakfast items, and pastries. I went with iced tea which was pretty good. I was lucky to get a seat at one of the outside tables You can watch the action on Main Street while enjoying your food or beverage. It beats walking to the major chain joint up the street. read more

Go to spot for pre surf caffeine always. Staff is so welcoming and kind. Coffee is just the right amount of HOT!!! Great spot to talk story while sipping the juice. Surf photos are on point. read more

Java point is our favorite HB coffee spot. Quick, knowledgeable and friendly staff, reasonable pricing, delicious food and drinks. They also have FREE cookies for the pups! Big perk that it's part of HSS - we can sip and shop, or we can take in the Main St views from their tales outside. read more

I stop in there a couple times a week for a donut and once in awhile a coffee. It's a cool scene and the people helping you or I was friendly and engaging. Plus, you get to peruse the surfboards and that's a pretty good scene. read more

I recently discovered this great little coffee joint during a recent trip down to Huntington Beach. As I was perusing the goods at the adjoining Huntington Surf & Sport I spotted this and decided to give them a try as opposed to walking back down to Pacific City. The place itself is relatively small with just a few outside tables available but they have a good selection of drinks, pastries and breakfast items available. After seeing a sign advertising a honey cinnamon latte I knew I had to try it and quickly ordered up an iced version. The drink itself was quite good and had perfectly balanced flavor with just the right amount of cinnamon to no overpower the drink. I have since been back numerous times for this drink in both hot and iced versions and both are quite good although the iced really stands out to me. I have also had a donut and some cinnamon pull apart bread as well and both were good as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful and despite what Yelps listed hours say they are in fact open on Sundays with the same hours. I am a definite fan of this place and it has since become my typical morning stop on the days I am down near the beach. I will be visiting again soon and hope to do so for many years to come. Tucked away in Huntington Beach's iconic Huntington Surf and Sport on Main St. right by the pier lies a favorite locals coffee shop called Java Point. Can I give 6 stars? Because these girls deserve it. Lauryn and Jessi know just what I like; a lavendar latte with almond milk and sometimes even have it ready for me when I get there! I had been telling the girls I wanted a Java Point T-shirt, so they ordered some for customers and are now carrying them in the store! I am visiting from out of state. I have been coming here almost everyday since I tried it for the first time. The avocado toast is the best toast I have ever tried. I get it with feta cheese and the bread is lightly toasted and so soft on the inside. The service is great. The employees always smiling are on point with friendly, quick service. This is no longer a "locals" spot. We built a family tradition of walking down Main Street, grabbing a sunrise sammy (as we affectionately call it) and eating by the pier while we watch volleyball. When this started a few years ago the egg and cheese only was $4.75, when it went up to $6 it was a stretch but we accepted it's on Main Street. We stopped in today after a hectic few months and it was over $9, I think $9.75. I understand inflation and rising costs but this is just excessive for a microwave egg sandwich. I'll remember the fond memories and I'm sure tourists will enjoy the convenience of this location but I'll be bringing our egg and cheese sandwiches from home from now on. read more

Not sure if this nice young lady gets in trouble for this post but she's a 10 in my book. Stopped in for coffee, it was 6:30 a.m. and it was pouring down rain On Main Street HB. We ordered the coffee, tried to pay and their machines were down. She wasn't sure what to do. I suggested that she just give us a coffee and we would be back to pay some other day since we were down there all the time. Without hesitation she agreed, gave us the coffee. 15-20 minutes later we walked by, she was there, I went in and paid and she was thrilled that we came back. That's the way it should be. Thank you young lady. FYI, I did ask her name and I forgot what it was. So sorry. read more

Rudest barista in California! She asked me if I was going to order something. I said I was looking at the pastries. She asked me to wait over there and pointed to the surfboards. Also, she doesn't evidently understand the difference between a Cortada and a cappuccino. we ordered two Cortada's and got two cappuccino's. We were the only customers in the place. read more

5/5 for location 3/5 for value of food and drink 3/5 for service Java Point is a well-decorated, supremely-located coffee shop set up along the surfboard racks of HSS. They have a handful of unique options on top of the usual brews and bottled drinks--in particular, they stock oat milk, which I can't recommend enough as a milk substitute! The decor is really cute--and, insider tip, there are a few tables located upstairs that are a sweet, private location to sip your coffee and people watch (or, you know, have a conversation if you're not about the people watching)! The drinks are nothing special but consistently decent. That much being said, the prices are exorbitant; for coffee that is not exceptional in quality or quantity, there's hardly a good reason to be paying this much aside from the beachside location. Service is speedy, if not particularly personal. Most of the people working here seem to be high school or college age; they get the job done, but unless you're a trendy-looking, Hydroflask-carrying young pup, expect to grab your drink and go. Probably won't be back unless a friend specifically wants to go here. But hey--as long as the beach is there, business will be booming. read more

this hidden gem inside HSS is one of the best coffee spots on the block. Not only is their coffee delicious, they have great food items too. I am absolutely addicted to heir WORKS bagel. On any bagel you want, they toast it, with a light spread of cream cheese, hot sauce, purple onion, tomato, avocado and pepper. IT IS SO GOOD! read more

This little coffee and pastries place is a small place that's inside the surf shop. We love them because they have great coffee and pastries (my family loves their chocolate chip muffins) and I love their glazed doughnuts. I personally love how amiable their staff is. One of them said that I positively reminded her of her uncle and that I looked familiar. Stuff like that makes my day! Try them out when you are on Main Street and looking for coffee and pastries! :-) read more

The main blonde girl that has been there for a while doesn't even bother greeting you or smiling when you order. What's worse is they are constantly petting the dogs that come in and go right back to making food/drinks without washing their hands. Sometimes they'll put a glove on one hand but then touch their phones and everything else with the same glove. read more

So all the negative reviews concerning the rude and amateurish employees here are justified. I am all for hiring college and even high school kids for jobs like these. However, next time make sure your candidates are competent. Came here a couple days ago to get an iced latte. One girl was busy, which I understand. But then came another. Stared at me for a while before she decided to take my order (which was when the other girl had finished taking care of her customer). What.. The next time I came, three girls were behind the counter; they were ALL talking to a man and none bothered to help the only other customer they had. Waited about 20 minutes before these employees of the month noticed me and took my order. The only reason I keep coming here is because of the coffee, which is good. Provided stumptown is good by default and, well, it's stumptown and not because of the inept employees. Please, take your rudeness and negativity to other jobs not related to customer service until you grow up a bit and realize the jobs are to be taken seriously rather than treat is as hanging out and talking with your girl friends while customers are waiting only to be met with impoliteness/disrespect. I tried, I really tried. My latest visit will probably be my last. After ordering my usual, small coffee with cream and a donut, I was given my donut and that was it. I waited as they helped 2 other people, totally forgot about me. After I asked them about my coffee, the girl finally gave me my coffee and said nothing. I felt like taking my tip back. Very cool place but the service is usually bad. Not really training on good customer service. Sad. read more

As a local who walks her dog everyday on Main Street, we stopped by Java Point one day. It is part of the iconic HSS surf shop in Surf City USA! The experience was awesome! I have been going here for about 20 years almost everyday and I have always been happy. But they have a new girl working who is the rudest thing I have ever seen and she deliberately messes up my order and makes me want up to 45 minutes to get something that is not eatable. She also pets dogs ( which I love dogs ) but then she resumes work with out washing her hands. I am going to stop going because apparently they don't need my money ? I will now give my money and my friends money to Starbucks down the street. Such a shame to lose such a fun place to go !!! read more

Java is a great local coffee place inside of HSS. Great coffee and always fresh donuts and bagels. They also have delicious breakfast sandwiches on bagels and avocado toast on the best bread ever. I was a first time customer this morning, my boyfriend loves or lets say "loved" this place as he is a local of Huntington. I was excited to finally be able to try it! Sadly I was completely embarrassed by the morning staff that treated me like an idiot when asking questions about their breakfast items and bagels. (May I add here that I just got out of my chemotherapy session for having brain cancer) so I was a little foggy. After the numerous eye rolls and asking me over and over again I what I want, I finally gave up and said "the breakfast sandwich with turkey on a regular bagel" ** insert eye rolls again from the cashier and the blonde helping her** While waiting for our meal I over heard the two women making remarks.. one in which I heard clearly "apparently we are a restaurant now"... which confused me... because you are serving food right? So maybe you kind of are? Long story short, I got my "breakfast sandwich" without the turkey, had to go back and ask for turkey for the sandwich.. which took another 10 minutes.. they gave me two slices of cold turkey but it was fine because my sandwich was cold by then. I'm usually not a "rant and raver" on yelp... but honesty... it made me sad, you never know what's going on in people's lives... you should treat everyone with respect. Safe to say I'll never go back and neither will my boyfriend. read more

I cant believe I am just now posting a Yelp review! I give this place 5 stars. It is my go to for downtown. I've been coming here for 5 years. The coffee is great and so are the prices. The staff is friendly and they have WiFi. My fiancé also proposed to me upstairs. He put my ring in a blueberry muffin. It was the best. You cant go wrong here. Everything is amazing. Two stars because the young lady that was working was so sweet and the banana nut muffin was very yummy (which was recommended by the young lady working). The coffee however, was awful. My boyfriend and I took one sip and both threw them out. We enjoyed the warm muffin though :)) so I'm hoping it was just a bad batch and that we'll have a better cup when we give it a second shot. read more

When I walked up to the cashier, I was greeted with good energies. After eating enough pretzels and beer to keep me full, I only came in for a cold brew to take as I drive home. The wall has their regular menu but if you look at the paper menu hung at eye level by the cashier, you will see their currents specialties. I ordered the hazelnut Kyoto cold brew and it was simply amazing- smooth, balanced and not too sweet. I will definitely be back if I am ever in the area.

So my boyfriend went back to the counter and got the banana cold foam and that actually made the drink worse. The cold foam didn't taste good at all, it ruined the drink. I actually wish we would have just stayed with the regular matcha cause that was good. Just on those two things (we shared the burrito) was $30. Overall it was okay, don't know if I would come back.

Food is great! Been coming here for years. But I just had thee worst experience today...I think there are two new girls and they were completely RUDE. Of course they are nice to my husband every time he goes in there. But anyways thats besides the point...I told the girl what I wanted and I was getting a few things and she rolled her eyes at me as if I was telling her too fast what I wanted. They have always had the sweetest girls in there until now. I told my husband if we go back he has to go I will not go in there ever again. RUDE RUDE RUDE girls!!!!! The brownie sample in my opinion wasn't good. The brownie itself was refrigerated and after I let it sit out for a few minutes the brownie had a unusually light texture that almost melted in your mouth like a chocolate, but more airy not your typical brownie that is sort of chewy like cake. It seems like they have a lot of food items that may be a stronger selling point than their coffee.

I had not been back to this place in 30 years and the food is still sucks after all these years and a breakfast burrito should not cost close to $20. !!!!
