Whenever I go to a coffee shop, only either the food is good and the drinks are ehh and vice versa but WOW Salty Horse really set the bar for me! I treated my cousin out for an early birthday celebration and we both got a matcha and we shared a sandwich! They have a special drink menu right now and i'll leave that for you guys to go see for yourself ;) The outside is a pretty Barn vibe and there is indoor and outdoor seating! (i recommend the outside area!) we got a number and the workers brought our food to us but for drinks we had go pick up inside after calling out our names The food was amazing and the workers were all friendly! Food and drinks: 10/10 I will definitely be coming back for the breakfast as it looks amazing!! (Parking is also a little hard so try to go early!)

This spot is great for brunch and despite the long line, the food is really good. I got the dragon fruit pancakes, which were really on point. They also have seasonal ceremonial grade matcha, which was also on point. You pay up front before the food is delivered to you and it actually came out pretty quickly. Highly recommend!

The line gets so long but the steak and fries were worth it in my opinion. My coffee was decent. I ordered a seasonal drink I don't remember the name I believe it may have been campfire or campsite brew. Poke bowl was good. Breakfast burrito was okay. Seating is a first come first serve. You order your food then find a seat. On a busy day it'll be a little hard to find one.

If you ever in Costa Mesa, this is a coffee shop and breakfast place you have to visit. Love love the ambiance and the aesthetic of Salty Horse. (Coastal Cowboy Theme Parking is very limited it's located in a residential area between Newport Blvd. & 21st street. Be prepared to stay in line for more rhan 15 minutes depending on the time you visit...but didn't mind the wait because it was my 1st time and took some photos to post on Yelp. I ordered the Hawaiian Cowboy - made with double shot of espresso, hawaiian honey and maple walnut milk. It is lightly sweet but very smooth. Also, got Saddle Spice Chai, Rice Krispy Cookie is so perfectly done - love the crispy texture, but soft cookie.

Overall, Salty Horse was good - very very crowded and our food took a while to come out, however everyone working there was literally so nice. They all looked like they were having a good time, which I really feel like makes a difference as a customer! The space itself is so cute, picture a beach house with a country feel. To drink I had the berries and cream matcha and my friend had the hawaiian cowboy - I preferred the matcha! To eat we had the JH breakfast burrito and the foccacia turkey sando. Both were super yummy and filling - the portions were big! We were eyeing the person next to us enjoying the steak and eggs... will be ordering next time!

Salty Horse had been on my list for awhile now after seeing the hype on social media but I was worried it would be overhyped and we might not like it but we really did love it! We got there around 9:30am on a Sunday and waited about 30 min in line before we ordered. By the time we sat down and left the line had grown a lot longer so I recommend coming here early. The place itself is cute. Loved the decor. The menu was extensive and we definitely want to be back to try more items. We got the JH breakfast burrito to share. I ordered the Hawaiian cowboy and my boyfriend asked if they had a drink and they didn't so he ordered a seasonal drink but they also didn't have it (which is why I gave it 4 starts). The drink he ordered - the bonfire brew was not good. It didn't taste good or have any flavor which was a let down. We were able to find a seat which was great! Now to the food - the breakfast burrito is now our favorite breakfast burrito we've had in OC! The flavors were just perfect and the tots were fried to perfection. I will say that the three sauces are all spicy so I do wish they had a non spicy sauce. The Hawaiian cowboy is now my favorite! I loved it so much! We also got the brown butte banana bread and we liked it. I would try something else from their pastry selection next time. My boyfriend also got some chippy's chips that they were selling as you wait in line, made from beef tallow and we loved them. He also got tangerine sours which he is obsessed with. I will say it is pricey but the food quality and at least my drink was good. The service was good too. We were just disappointed with my boyfriend's seasonal drink, but other than that, we can't wait to come back! Parking is just street parking so it can be hard but we found parking. Just be respectful of residents and homes.

The line was out the door when we came here . It is in a residential area Linda sorta idk it's weird and parking sucks . You wait in a line forever to order food , so that was a bummer . We went for bunch during week and I was shocked how packed it was . You have to go get drinks at the front which we didn't know . They bring food out but I guess not drinks which seem to take longer than the food . The theme of this place was cute and they keep the place clean . The food presentation and taste were great . Drinks were pretty and yummy . I don't know if I would go back just because the parking and the seats were super uncomfortable. I think the worse thing about this place for us were the chairs . Our butts didn't fit and it was very uncomfortable. We went on a warm day and a lot of the outside area is in the sun so that also was a negative . I rate this place a 3.5 /5

The food is amazing! The coffee leaves something to be desired. The matcha varieties are solid. The wait in line can be LONG (but the kitchen is fast). Seating is unique and trendy. 4/5 this time around.

No matter how long the line is make sure you stay in it!! It is absolutely worth the wait! Everything is so good and Cassie is the sweetest server! The cowboy latte is so good especially if you love maple and a nutty flavor in your coffee. The spicy ceasar salad with steak is amazing!! It can be a little salty so you can always ask for the sauce on the side! The California burrito (no rice and no cheese - trust me) is SO GOOD!!! So fresh and delicious! It's loaded up with all the right things. The vibes are so good and it's so easy to find a seat even if it is busy. The fries are a must!!!! Make sure to also as for ranch on the side because their ranch was delicious!! There's a bunch of street parking next to the cafe as well!

Arrived around 10am on Saturday and there was a long line to order! There is only one kiosk. There's seatings inside and outside. Loved the decor! We ordered for here and our food came first before our drinks. Expect 15+ min wait. 4/5 Steak Frites $24 - Asked for medium. IMO steep price but presentation and flavor made it worth. 2.5/5 Cowgirl matcha $8 - I was excited for their drinks but this tasted more like milk than matcha to me. Would love to try their coffee drinks next time!

Long lines, terrible parking situation, and lack of order. I waited an hour in line, to order four drinks. One coffee based drink, two matchas, and a yuzu lemonade. The yuzu lemonade was supposed to come with a homemade popsicle as a garnish, however they ran out, and didn't tell me until I inquired. I would not have ordered the drink, had I known that information prior. The guava and blueberry matchas had the same sweet forward notes, with no real distinguishing characteristics. The coffee drink was good, and would recommend it. The seating is spread around, outside and inside with the outdoor seating, on a first come basis.

So I have a love hate relationship with with Salty Horse Love: - vibes and decor - sift bakery goodies especially the cinnamon rolls - thick cut bacon - matcha options - Hawaiian cowboy latte - legit eggs Hate: - the long line during peak hours on the weekend - running out of cinnamon rolls at 10am on Saturday - prices are a bit high

The decor was very coastal cowboy. It was well decorated and such a cute vibe. Very picturesque! The staff member who took our order was very nice. She gave us an honest recommendation which we appreciated. The matchas were creamy and delicious!

Everything hit the right notes, from the friendly service, the cute but unpretentious atmosphere…read more(no instagram-y neon signs or faux floral walls), and most importantly, the delicious food. We came here for a late brunch, and the girl taking our order offered us a free cinnamon rolled oats pancake since it was our first time and we were debating the pancake choices. When I asked for extra salsa, another girl brought it immediately with a cheerful smile (in LA, I would get a dead-eyed Gen Z stare followed by a sigh that the additional tablespoon of salsa would be a $4 charge). We had the breakfast burrito (massive, could've just split this) and the 2+2+2 with buttermilk pancakes (fluffy bites of heaven). I loved the cinnamon pancake too, but suggest this as a table share vs a standalone meal unless you have a major sweet tooth. Total including coffee was just over $50. Just go - you'll leave with a very full belly but can burn it off hiking at crystal cove!

Tuna melt was very very good but they didn't really toast it that much comparing to other pictures I've seen here. Now the bad... it's such a tiny place that I feel claustrophobic here! Parking is awful so we try to come here early morning. And also most of the people that come to this spot don't know how to read the huge sign outside the door that says: "Line starts here" So it can be very very tight inside and confusing when people are lined up inside a tiny restaurant plus tables just a few inches from it.

We enjoyed everything so much that I've already decided to reserve Bayshore Lounge for my next party. Hamid & Milad were very hospitable, friendly, and made sure we got everything we needed. The wings were super crispy, but juicy on the inside and the fries were solid as well! The mains were great as the chicken was moist and so flavorful that we didn't even need to add any extra sauce to it. And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.
