Such a cute, cozy, and clean café, I genuinely always go out of my way to come back here whether I'm in the area or not. I really enjoy the iced latte with banana cold foam (it tastes so fresh and not artificial at all, which I love), and the homemade butter mochi and blueberry muffin/cake are both incredibly delicious, soft, and uniquely chewy in the best way! The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the owner is so kind and friendly, I always enjoy chatting with her when I visit! A friend and I came around 11 AM on Saturday and there weren't too many people in the store. We wanted to get some work done and there are 3 tables and an outlet so it's a good study spot if you can get a table! We both ordered the miso brown sugar latte with oat milk on their seasonal menu but there were so many amazing sounding drinks. The latte was pretty basic. Absolutely loved reading about this place, however, the taste of premade matcha is less than pleasurable in a drink. It felt as if I was drinking a cup of milk for $8. Humanity - I started with the name, and then the lovely book they had on the table going over coffee culture and beans from around the world, showing the "Humanity" of Coffee. The intrigue did stop there however. While I did appreciate the proximal free parking, the Matcha (not ceremonial grade) yet $8, and just a "meh" interaction with staff, made for a very casual and less than memorial experience. I did enjoy my Much needed Matcha fix after nice long walk on the beach that morning, and was glad they were open by 8:00am, but for the price, size and quality Venn Diagram Matrix, that bullet point doesn't bisect all rings in the sweet spot. read more

This quiet little coffee shop in Newport has a small parking lot at the end of the block. They have three tables inside and several out along the sidewalk. There is a serene vibe about this place. I ordered a hot Salty Maple Latte and chose a cinnamon roll from the pastry case. It was recommended that I have the cinnamon roll warmed up and I agreed wholeheartedly. My order was ready in a couple minutes and I sat inside to relax and listen to the Brazillian jazz playing over the sound system as I enjoyed my coffee and pastry. The cinnamon roll was delicious. Although a bit light on the cinnamon it made up for it with a frosting to die for. My first sip of of the Salty Maple Latte made me panic as it tasted extremely salty, like a straight shot right out of one of those Morton salt containers with the girl holding the umbrella. I quickly realized the saltiness was just in the foam and beneath it was a slightly sweet latte made with a superb quality espresso. I wasn't brave enough to mix the foam in for fear of making it too salty, so skillfully sipped a bit of foam with each sip of latte. That was my trick to make it wonderful. They offer specialty drinks with house-made syrup, Viet Crack, breakfast and sandwiches. Interior layout was modest with few art wall decor and a good color scheme design. It's my first time here and also a prime location to the beach. I had an Avo Toasts and a Cold Brew. Both were good for a light breakfast. Service staff was cordial and competent. Prices were fair for the area. Atmosphere was relaxing. Rear parking lot is free albeit limited; although there are car spots adjacent to it but you have to pay $1 for 15 minutes. I got to try this on a nice gloomy Saturday. The Viet Crack smelled like Vietnamese coffee, but the taste did not, so the incongruity was a bit jarring. Iced Americano was all right. I have heard good things about Humanity Coffee so we decided to give it a try! I got the ube latte and ube mochi. My husband got the chai tea and egg sandwich. Iced ube latte - 3/5. It was good, just a bit watery. I couldn't really taste the ube and the coffee was not strong. Ube mochi - 5/5. Omg I could eat a whole pan of this! Sooooo good and gluten free :) Chai - 3/5. The chai wasn't too sweet, which was nice. It just didn't have tons of flavor and felt watered down. Egg sandwich - 5/5. This sandwich was sooooo good! Best thing we had! I tried this place for the first time today and really enjoyed their Vietnamese coffee, which they hilariously named "Viet-Crack." It was delicious--not overly sweet or overpowering. I love Vietnamese coffee, but sometimes it gives me too much of a jolt or upsets my stomach. Not with this one, though. It had just the right amount of caffeine. I also loved the fact that they served a cold drink in a paper cup instead of plastic which is more environmentally friendly. Next time, I want to try their ube latte or chia pudding. The interior is small and cozy, with plenty of natural light. One small suggestion would be to replace the large plastic plant with a real potted plant--I think a real one would complement the decor better. I also like that they have a parking lot next to the building, which is a nice perk for Newport. read more

I'm on the Newport Peninsula all the time, and one thing anyone who knows the area understands is that parking can be tough. Residential, commercial, all of it. That's one of the first things I appreciate about Humanity Coffee. There's a large parking lot right next door, which makes it incredibly easy to park, pop in, and grab a great coffee without the usual stress. Now for the coffee. It's excellent. I always order an Americano, and their coffee is consistently delicious. The beans are roasted perfectly. I'm not sure if they roast in house, but whatever they're doing, it works. And this is a small detail that matters to me, not every coffee shop offers heavy cream. Many stop at half and half. Humanity has heavy cream, which is exactly what I drink with my Americano, so they absolutely have the goods for me. The space itself is really well done. Trendy, clean, thoughtfully designed, and welcoming. I especially love that they have their mission statement and core values posted on the wall. As a business owner myself, I appreciate that level of transparency. It's important for people to know who you are, where you come from, and what you stand for, and they do a great job setting that tone. Price wise, this is another win. You're getting better coffee than the big chains, yet it's more affordable. Anyone who runs a business knows how hard it is to offer a superior product while managing overhead, and they've clearly figured that out. The staff is always friendly, and it shows that the ownership is intentional and truly involved. You can feel that they care about their customers and about the community. That matters. What a sweet little spot off of Newport Blvd! Located in the same strip as F45, you'll find Humanity Coffee. We found parking at the adjacent lot and ordered a Brekky English Muff, ECS (egg, cheese, sausage on an English muffin). They have some mochi bars and other pastries in the case as well. I liked the butter mochi. Service was quick and our order was called out shortly afterward. I tried to use the restroom but it's code locked so you'll have to ask one of the staff for the code. The space is small and cozy. The modern aesthetic is soothing and very Zen. There are a few tables inside and outside of the cafe. Visited here after a quick trip to the beach. The worker was so friendly and came out with our drinks pretty fast considering there was six of us. I ordered the Iced Ube Latte. What a lovely place! I attended a Yelp Elite Squad event at Humanity Coffee this past week, prompting me to try out a drink of choice and a mochi cookie. I chose the Viet coffee with sea salt cold foam which I really liked, but I am normally a plain americano girl, so I might not be ordering the same again. That being said I think for lovers of lattes and cappuccinos that aren't on the sweet side this is a fantastic drink and I highly recommend the cold foam on top! What absolutely blew me away was the mochi cookie. It was so lightly sweet, comforting (I described it previously as a hug), and soft!! I will be revisiting g for this cookie again and again while in town. While I was there I also ordered a focaccia sandwich with salami, brie, truffle, and arugula and a jasmine latte for my friend. I would say the sandwich is "skip-able", but this is not to say it's bad, just very basic. I did not try the latte, but my friend who loves sweet coffee drinks really enjoyed it! I also want to give a shout out for the service! I was in a bit of a rush and the cafe was getting crowded so I did not get a chance to ask the name of the girl behind the counter, but she was incredibly sweet and diligent. Humanity coffee is a independent alternative to the big coffee chains located in Newport Beach. It is within walking distance to the beach. I had a cappuccino, my wife had a decaf coffee and we shared a blueberry crisp. Everything was great. The blueberry crisp was very tasty. The staff was friendly and our order was prepared quickly. The prices were comparable to chain shops, if not a mite cheaper. In tune with its location, the ambiance is a laid back beach vibe. We tried Humanity Coffee one morning for coffee/hot chocolate & one morning for breakfast sandwiches. We ordered a couple hot chocolate drinks, one chai latte, & one vanilla latte. None of us liked our drinks. They all tasted like warm milk with a slight hint of chocolate/chai/vanilla. But we noticed a lot of orders for the breakfast sandwiches which did look really good. So the next morning we got code coffee elsewhere & stopped here for the Brekky English Muffin. I ordered the egg & cheese sandwich. It was delicious! I would have loved a salsa with this to add a little spice or something more to it. But I thought of was very proportionate with the egg, cheese, & English muffin. I got a cold brew with sugar-free vanilla syrup. The barista told me that the sugar-free vanilla syrup was Housemade with monk fruit and vanilla extract and water. I'm very impressed when I see an establishment with Housemade sugar-free syrup so I was excited to try it. I ran into the issue of not being able to taste any vanilla after tasting my drink. I asked the barista if she could put more in, which she did. I still didn't taste it beyond a somewhat alcoholish flavor. I think the issue here is that since they made their own syrup with vanilla extract they put too much vanilla extract and not enough monk fruit. the coffee itself did not have a great flavor. my friend got an apple juice and a chocolate croissant. she really enjoyed both. the barista provided great service and was very kind to me through my whole experience. they served my cold drink in a hot drink cup which i thought was a bit odd. I did appreciate the cute logo on the cup. the interior was small. it was decorated minimally but had a nice ambiance. they had a restroom available for customers. the price was pretty reasonable. the portion size was on the smaller side. overall disappointed with this establishment. i wish they were able to offer a better sugar free syrup option. i didnt particularly like the flavor of the cold brew itself either. however, i would love to come back and review their other items because I love the company mission of embracing humanity and see they have much more to offer! read more

I stopped by Humanist Coffee in the morning and really loved it. I got an iced matcha latte with a little honey and an iced oolong tea. Both were super good, but the matcha latte blew me away. Easily one of the best I've had. It was really smooth and had that true matcha flavor, not the powdery stuff a lot of places use. The shop is small and tucked into a little commercial center, and the vibe inside was really nice and relaxed. The person who helped me out (I think the owner?) was super friendly too. Warning.....they don't abide by their posted hours. Went all the way there to try their coffee and they closed 30 minutes early. There was a barista at the counter and I knocked on the door (loud enough for her to hear) and she completely ignored me. Oh well. I won't go back since I have no idea if they'll actually be open or not. A sign on the door stating a reason for early closure would be appropriate and appreciated. Communication is key. Anyways, instead head on over to Herst Coffee, another small business, just down the street. It's a really cute place, coffee is great and they're actually open as advertised. The matchas are extremely small and filled with ice so you are not actually getting much to drink. It's around $16 for 2 matchas and you are done in 2 sips. The blueberry lavender matcha was sour and had chucks in it and was undrinkable. read more

My husband, daughter, and I came in last Monday while working remotely and absolutely loved both the coffee and the food! My daughter had the cinnamon roll, I ordered the avocado toast, and my husband got the breakfast sandwich--everything was fresh and delicious. We stayed for a few hours getting work done and really appreciated the setup. There were plenty of tables, the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, and they had soft background music that made it easy to focus without being distracting. It was such a comfortable place to spend the morning. Before heading out, we ordered two more drinks for the drive home because we enjoyed everything so much. Humanity has a great assortment of fun coffee choices along with the classics. I got a hazelnut latte (pictured), and it is the best that I have tried in the Newport area by far! I also got a breakfast sandwich, and it was honesty the highlight of the visit! (I got so excited when I saw it that I forgot to get a picture!) Aside from the coffee and food, the staff were very nice and were very happy to answer and questions that I had.
