This is my 4th visit to Sweet Elle, and it keeps delivering. You can tell this is a true scratch kitchen. Everything tastes fresh, the coffee is brewed well with a nice, balanced blend, and the ingredients speak for themselves. The staff has always been friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Every time I've been here, people genuinely seem to be enjoying themselves. At first glance, the burrito looked a little smaller than what some guests might expect. I even thought, "That bite better be flavorful." It absolutely was. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can tell they don't cut corners on quality. I think it's important to remember that a scratch kitchen using organic, gluten-free, and non-dairy ingredients is operating with much higher food costs than places using generic products--especially with today's inflation. I'd rather have quality ingredients and great flavor than an oversized burrito that's just average. The only complaint I have isn't even about the café. The curb out front is a little high and my car door kissed it. That's more of a city issue than theirs. Overall, I really enjoy walking over here for great food, excellent coffee, and a welcoming vibe. Looking forward to visit number five. read more

First 1-star review I've ever left. I live right down the street and have given this place multiple chances over the years since they opened. Unfortunately, the experience never improves. The owner is an absolute tripp. Every time I've been in, she's either rude to employees, customers, or on a good day - both. I can't support a business where the energy feels that off. On top of that, $9 for a matcha that can't accommodate light ice? Be serious. read more

Love this local coffee shop! It's so convenient in downtown HB. Always very welcoming, very clean and love the vibe. I love how clean the matcha latte is and also you can adjust the sweetness level. First impressions the people working are super friendly and sweet! They attended us so well!! 5/5 for customer service! The place itself is cute with outdoor seating! Since it's Christmas we didn't get to try the food but the drinks were good! I got a black tea that I was told is more like a cold brew black tea! I was a huge fan! So good!!! Ordered the "sweater weather" seasonal latte and also noticed they had Bliss Balls by Meet The Source in their refrigerated section. There is an outdoor seating area with a few umbrellas, and a small parking lot. Read that there can be a line out the door,, but we did not experience that on our visit. read more

Cutest spot! I haven't tried food but it all looks amazing. Picked up an immunity shot and two lattes. All of the syrup was at the bottom which is nothing I can't mix myself. Once mixed it was very very very sweet so next time I would ask for half sweet even though I usually love a sweet latte this was just a bit too much. I usually will stop by when I have the time later in the day (not often) and I went on MLK day last Monday morning and I witnessed what I believe to be the owner grilling one of their employees for not doing something right. This is a common occurrence when I do show up here, and it made it very uncomfortable for everyone in the store, other customers looked at each other and raised their eyebrows in surprise. It's unfortunate because I like the place but the owner seems insufferable. The service is decent, but for 8 dollar coffee and food items that cost an arm and a leg, it needs to be better. I can go anywhere else for cheaper options and better quality, and it looks as though the other reviews agree. Seems like they're trying to get every penny they can from you. This place is very comfy and has a nice atmosphere, which I usually enjoy. A few days ago, however, I ordered an avocado toast and noticed that the bread had mold on it, which was concerning and made me uncomfortable eating it. This is something i look for to when going to coffee shops and they meet that expectation for me! Stopped by here on one of my morning walks and I'm glad I did! I ordered their iced peanut butter mocha and it was sooo good! I liked that it wasn't too sweet and the peanut butter flavor didn't overpower the coffee. It felt just right. The blueberry muffin was a little dry but still tasty. Coffee is awesome! Have been here about 4 times since moving to the area and have no complaints besides the service. Whether dining in, waiting for my order, walking to my vehicle. 3/4 visits I have witnessed what seems to be the owner hound her employees, whether on performance in making items or performance. The owner is horrible and does not care about your business. She treats her employees like shit and makes the experience uncomfortable. I've spent alot of money here because my daughter loves it, but today was the final straw when the owner lectured me on how my friend and I ordered coffee (and said milk can only be one tablespoon or she'd have to charge more) LOL, wow. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, and was charged an extra $0.50 for a tiny amount of butter - something I've never encountered before. The cream cheese they gave on the side was ice cold, and the cheap knife they provided broke instantly, making it impossible to eat the bagel on the go as I had intended. When did coffee become so expensive? Paid $7.50 for a large Americano and they managed to get the order wrong. When I tried to ask about the lack of cream, they ignored me and took my drink and acted like it was my fault.
