Despite being extremely crowded on a Sunday morning, The Barista Botanist quickly prepared drink I food orders! My coffee was okay, not exactly what I was expecting, but I think I would have liked one of their specialty coffees better. For food, I ordered the Cali Vegan. The sourdough was absolutely phenomenal!! The sandwich itself was a little lacking and could have greatly been enhanced with a little more hummus and avocado. The sandwich is also listed as having microgreens, however mine came with arugula (which I DO NOT like) and wouldn't have ordered had it been described correctly on the menu. Place is cute. It has a lot of plants. Seating inside and also outdoor but it can get pretty packed. We came on a Monday and it was quite busy. Got the lavender ube latte and it didn't really have a lot of ube on top compared to drinks I've seen that were posted online. I couldn't really taste the ube. Lavender was just ok. All the indoor tables comfortably fit 2 people. Groups larger than that would probably be best outside on the patio. I don't remember if there are enough outlets so bring a fully charged laptop. The moonlight chai was recommended to me and it was ok, I'd probably order something else next time. The steak sando was good and would recommend! Don't get me wrong, I love Barista Botanist. The food and vibes are amazing, but the service is consistently disappointing. When picking up to go orders, I'm usually left standing at the counter without being acknowledged, and asking for something as simple as ketchup feels like you're asking for their first born. Today was also my first bad food experience. There was a HAIR in my steak sandwich (see photos). They were kind and remade it, which I appreciated, but I was surprised they didn't offer a refund or even a complimentary coffee. There are also flies and bees everywhere. I'd like to start off with the good things, this place is absolutely gorgeous. I love plants and coffee, so it was hard not to fall in love with the space. There are plants everywhere, huge open windows, and a very airy layout that made the whole café feel super cozy and relaxing for me. They also have a lot of outdoor seating, which is nice on a good weather day. I ordered a latte, which I'd give around a 4/5, and the cinnamon roll was easily the highlight for me which was super fresh and absolutely delicious, definitely a 5/5. Now for the downsides, it's definitely a little pricey, and the staff didn't come across as very friendly or welcoming. Overall though, I'd still give it around a 3.5/5. I ordered the steak sando and it was absolutely delicious. The side of sweet potato fries were amazing!! Unfortunately the matcha pancakes were not good. I found this place to be overrated. I went on a Wednesday afternoon to WFH here. When I walked up to the counter, I stood there for a minute or two before anyone acknowledged me, even though there were 2 employees standing behind the counter chatting with each other. I also immediately noticed how loud the music was, which made me think twice about sitting down to get work done. There was barely any seating available and the seats that were open were awkward and uncomfortable. There were also flies EVERYWHERE. I don't think a single minute went by where I didn't have to swat a fly out of my face or away from my coffee. The place was also really dirty. The tables looked like they only get wiped down once a day, and the floor was covered in trash and leaves and looked like it hadn't been swept in days. The aesthetic is cute, and my coffee was good, but that's where the positives end. Cons: awkward seating, flies, dirtiness, loud music, and bad service. Oh also, at one point while I was there the whole room started smelling like burnt food and then one of the employees screamed loudly and yelled "it's on fire!" Which obviously startled everyone in the place. This place just feels like it's run by young lazy employees who don't care about anything. All the issues I listed can be fixed with better management. But as it stands, there are much better coffee shops nearby. read more

The set up is a casual order where food and drinks are made to ordering with partial service by paying up front, picking up your drink, and they give you a number for your food to be delivered to your table. I sat outside and found a partial sunny/shady spot. The food and drinks took awhile with me peeking to see if our drinks were done which they weren't and seeing our food come out first and our drinks ready after. After the food was delivered I grabbed our drinks inside. The server grabbed our request for utensils and the fly prevention spinner. When she came back we then asked for small plates. After waiting to eat our food for awhile we realized she forgot and never came back. We then followed up by going inside to ask again for the plates . I got the iced organic Hawaiian honey latte. It did not disappoint. It was not too sweet, had lots of flavor and the coffee is strong! Just how I like it. We also ordered an Ube cookie and breakfast pizza! Both were delicious. I'd come back for the breakfast pizza alone. The service is interesting as you're expected to get your drinks, but they serve your food to your table if you order "for here." The Hawaiian Honey Latte is smooth, slightly sweet, and super balanced -- not overly sugary, just the right touch of honey. It's now my go-to. Also tried the banana bread and honestly, it's kind of perfect. Warm, moist, with a buttery edge that makes it feel homemade (in the best way). Simple but done really well. The menu uses local and superfood ingredients to curate their items, and I've heard about them mainly through social media. I've done lots of cafe hopping and I like the serene atmosphere here of all the green and pretty flower bouquets that are on display and for sale. My order was two matcha lattes: Lavender Ube and Blood Orange Cream Latte. Both were decent, but the Orange matcha latte was more prominent in flavor than the Ube + Lavender. I could barely taste it, that is, until I put some sweetener packets, then the flavor enhanced. I do want to try the food sometime, as they have a wide variety of selections as well. Overall, it's a nice stop to have if you're wanting a drink or a quick bite. There was limited seating inside, but they have set up a few tables to dine in the front too.
