Came for a yelp event and honestly I wouldn't even have came here if it wasn't for Yelp just because it's a 30 min drive but I'm glad they put this on. They had a community pizza area to try different slices but I wanted to buy my own pizza and other food to try. I grab the Big Kahuna pizza with added pepperoni and I didn't know about having the mandarins on the pizza but it was pretty good. Loved the crust, it was soft yet crispy at the same time. The sea salt fries were good and hot but the Buffalo wings have to be my favorite. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce tasted really good! They also have a brewery side as well called No Name brewery and I love the taste of beer with pizza! The service was really good with excellent recommendations by the young lady at the front. Ordered from Boardwalk because we were out west for another event and thought we would try something different. I placed my order on the phone for 715 pick up. When we went to pick up at 7:35, they said that they didn't have our order even though I had paid for it already. We asked them to check again and all of a sudden they brought it out from the back. Unfortunately, by the time we got home, about 25 minutes away, we discovered that they had given us a veggie pizza instead of the Boardwalk pizza. Wow! Virgil and his crew hit it out of the park. Counter folks welcomed us in the moment we walked through the door. Took our order at the counter and were friendly throughout, even checking and double checking what we wanted. Salad came out quickly and was great with the balsamic dressing (on the side). I had a craving for a good bbq chicken pizza and decided to get Boardwalk pizza. It's located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of shared parking. Staff here is so nice and made sure I was taken care of while waiting. It's been years since I've been here, so I was surprised to see a bar inside. The beer looks to be brewed in-house, and while I'm not a beer drinker, this would be a nice spot to drink wine while eating some pizza and apps with friends. The space is small, so it's not ideal for large groups but definitely a spot to hang out with a few people. My husband and I shared the bbq chicken pizza, and that was delicious. My boys shared the half cheese and pepperoni pizza. Both really enjoyed it, and they love the taste of the crust (they are picky about the crust). We also had a pack of their chocolate chip cookies. I'm not a fan of chocolate chip cookies, but these were soft and warm. I was surprised at how good they were. Will we return in the near future? For sure!! Go check this place out if you haven't. Gosh...I'm not sure how this place is ranking as high as it is? Let me explain; it's NY style pizza...large slices, nice thin crust. Not crispy thin, just thinner (almost hand tossed). Decent flavor, nice toppings, not over sauced or over-cheesed. The main problem, undercooked. As Dave Portnoy would notice, while not much flop, the undercarriage wasn't crispy, nor was the crust. Tasted more like your typical bar pie or football pie, not a NY feel (albeit I get a sense that is what they are attempting to emulate). It has been about two years since our first sampling of Boardwalk and I neglected to review in time and then could not remember enough to make a reasonable review. All I could remember was that it was good enough to return and try again sometime. We ordered our usual Italian Sausage and Green Olive with extra cheese. We also ordered it well done. This was a good pizza, good enough that we plan to order again next week when friends will join us for a monthly pizza night. Boardwalk uses good Italian sausage and all of the toppings were generous. The cheese is really very good. At least when doubled, it is the rubbery style that we like. We order from Stefanina's with strictly mozzarella and we are in agreement, the cheese at Boardwalk is much better. Our thin crust was a little soft when I got it home, but that happens and is not their fault due to the time lapse in travel. We can always throw it on the cast iron griddle for a little bit to re-crisp it. As I said, we will patronize Boardwalk as part of our pizza rotation. read more
