Visited for the first time in 3 years, and the best things on the menu were in the antipasti section: the focaccia and the polpetta. The focaccia was delicate, served warm with an abundance of olive oil. The bolognese combines a great mix and tomato, herbs and garlic, but the cream may throw people off. The meatballs (spaghetti and meatballs) were hit or miss - the same plate had 1 flavorful meatball and 1 bland meatball . It wasn't really a hit today, but it's still a nice place to sit down and grab a quick bite. read more

I went for lunch with my girlfriend and met 2 of her old friends. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived. So we got very quick service. The waitress took our drink orders quickly. Foccasia bread was delivered while we waited for wine to arrive. It was excellent. I ordered the Lasagna on the advice of our waitress. My friend ordered a risotto dish. Our food came to the table fresh and hot. My friend pronounced the risotto excellent so I got a taste. It was delicious. I should never order restaurant lasagna. As a high school student I got to eat home made lasagna made by an Italian mom. This restaurant is okay but will never match what is on offer on "The Hill" here. read more

Reasonably priced (given all dine-out meals have increased in costs), tasty dishes and menu variety, excellent quality and generous portion sizes. Always get smiling and friendly service, plus the ambience is relaxed, casual and open (acoustics slightly loud). All in all, a solid 4.0+ experience; expect to pay $17-25 for an entree (many are shareable if lighter appetites), plus any apps, salads and drinks. No reservations, first come seating and limited bar to wine and beer. Good for families or date nite out. Importantly, you won't go wrong with anything on their menu! My "go-to's" are the house-made Lasagna (enough for 2), Neapolitan Pizzas, and Caesar salad. Check their daily Specials, and of course Risotto, Tutto Mare, Bolognese, Eggplant Parmigiana (starter) are also delicious! And if you come for lunch, they have a great 1/2 & 1/2 special - so get your choice of Salad and a Pasta dish, Salad and Pizza, etc. For me, Babbo's has been one of the most consistent and excellent dining spots in the Valley with a relaxed vibe. My wife and I stumbled upon this place when we were out and about on an evening out. Everywhere in the valley was super busy but Babbos didn't have a wait. Turns out their credit card machine was down so they were only taking cash. That was fine for us! We just wanted to get some food. What we didn't expect was that the food we would get from Babbo's would quickly become our favorite Italian food. The place is beautiful and the service is phenomenal. Great food. I got the veil Milanese which was one of the specials when I went it was very tender, the veggies were well prepared and the flavors worked well together. It was a nice open layout with big windows and created an enjoyable atmosphere. Our server was very kind and attentive. The people in general there are fantastic. We had a gift card that was super old and the manager still let us use most of it anyway. They used to have a Columbia location and my family and I were regulars there. I don't know if it's the fact that prices are going up in general or just the switch from Columbia to St Louis but the prices were a little more than I remember, nothing out of reason though. read more

Despite restaurant being nearly empty, service was really slow, bread was never delivered to our table, glass of wine had a lot of sediment in the bottom, and waitress never asked about another glass of wine, which I wanted. Fettuccine with chicken was bland, chicken pieces had little to no flavor & had whole garlic cloves that were uncooked. Tutto Mare was good. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures, but this place was pretty good. Their bread was my favorite part, it was rosemary focaccia I think. Very good. I also got a field greens salad that came with red onion and balsamic vinaigrette. The pizza I had came with roasted garlic and mushrooms. The crust was very thin and crispy, which is not my favorite, but the toppings on it were good. I also really liked the tomato sauce that came with the meatball appetizer. You can tell everything here is very fresh and homemade. Their menu is very small though, so I recommend looking at it before going in. It has mostly pastas and pizzas on it. Can't say I'm dying to go back here anytime soon, but the things we ordered were good. No complaints, just not blown away. read more

Excellent establishment. Very attractive and simple with some white table cloths and some without. Our group of 6 was taken to a fine round table with a server who was really on her game. A downside to the menu is there are very limited descriptions for what the meals are so you may have to do some research at the table (or ask the waiters) Overall good food in a clean space. This is not the first time it happens and seems odd they also close earlier than the times posted online as well in the evening... Terrible. My husband and I dropped in for a quick bite. was clean however the staff was RUDE. Our waitress treated us as if we had the plague. I ordered eggplant parmigiana (see pic). It was literally burned and dried out like a piece of cardboard. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Omg. The meatballs were tasteless mush. Actually tasted like they were filled with water. Great little Italian restaurant in the Valley more reminiscent of a streetside family favorite in Naples. A nice selection of wines greets you upon entering on a large farm style table. Intimate candlelight tables with prompt service sets the stage for a tasty night out. I prefer the field greens for salad. Warm bread and olive oil is served with each meal, but ask for balsamic vinegar to add to the bread dip. Olive oil, balsamic, parmesan cheese, pepper and a slice of bread. Margarita pizza is my favorite semi healthy entree. Thin crust and great flavor. Portions are huge. Great atmosphere. You'll probably have leftovers, so think about splitting an order. read more

We can always depend on getting 2 meals for the price of 1 at Babbo's. I had the chicken cannelloni, 3 very large cannelloni with red/white sauce, and my husband had Sugo's pizza like he always does. Loved the food and our waitress, Isabella, was a doll. Our only disappointment was that they were out of many of their wines. I always depend on the Super Tuscan and they had none. The Chianti only had 1 1/2 bottles left. Hopefully just a supply chain issue and not a restaurant fail. Highly recommend - Oh and the side Caesar Salad is huge and delicious!!! read more

This is the place where old money goes to for casual dining. It is like all the multigenerational Italians that left the Hill wanted a place to gather and through phenomenal menu items and good service were able to recreate it in chesterfield valley. I saw a table of 6 business men (one guy the twin brother of John Slatterly- the white haired guy from mad men). Closing deals. Another table of 4 snowbirds about to make their migration to Marco Island. Another table of young well dressed but not overstated couples going full bore on the conversation. This place is totally accessible to average diner. You about 15% more than a chain Italian restaurant and you get gourmet excellent cuisine. ProTip. Ask for the balsamic vinegar when you sit down. They give you good bread. But hey. It is bread right? Use the dish to make an olive oil balsamic Parmesan mess on an app plate and dip your bread it. The oil and the vinegar are the star here. Really like Babbo's! Had been here a few times at the Columbia location and realized there was one tucked away in the Valley so decided to make a stop in. Love the ambiance- very authentic feeling. The restaurant itself doesn't have a huge selection of entrees, apps, or desserts but they do everything super well so it doesn't really matter. The prices here are incredible- you will pay double at any other Italian place in town. The service is great too. Not a ton of seating, but luckily we got in and it wasn't packed so we sat down immediately. I ordered the veal special which was veal marsala that night and my boyfriend got the lasagna. Both large portions and before bread comes out with oil and pepper. They were absolutely delicious and tasted super fresh. For dessert we had the tiramisu even though we weren't even hungry but it was literally $4- how do you even say no to that. The tiramisu was also super delicious- fresh and a decent portion. Overall this is a great place for Italian- the only thing I would change is the amount of dishes offered but I prefer quality over quantity anyway!! Service- 8/10 Food- 8/10 Price- 10/10 read more

We can't believe that they have been here over 11 years according to our server Brittany. That means 11 years of missed opportunities to have a great meal. When we walked in the unmistakable scent of garlic is there, we knew we were in for something we would like. After reading the reviews, my wife had her meal picked out until she heard the specials. She ended up with Risotto with shrimp, pancetta, and butternut squash. I on the other hand stayed with the Sugo pizza. To start they brought out warm bread with Parmesan cheese and olive oil. I also had the Del Pietro salad that I split with my wife. The salad was incredibly good. The vinaigrette was in perfect proportion for the salad, not over powering like some places get. The Pinot Grigio we chose paired perfectly with our meal and the portions are generous enough to take home for tomorrow's lunch. We recently lost our go to Italian restaurant due to some problems they had. We are delighted that we now have a new " go to" place that is close to home. Great Job!! We will be back soon read more

Going to give a little grace here. Tried this place out for the first time. Unfortunately it did not go well though. It took forever to be seated and then even longer to get silverware. We were given bread and said a waitress would be out soon. Another 15 minutes later she came out and asked for our order. Never asked if we wanted drinks. After 30 minutes past she comes out and says there was a glitch in the system and our order did not get in. I really try to support local establishments but this makes it hard to come back here. The food was good but the prices are high given the service. I hope they get it figured out. More could be said but giving grace. read more

Solid casual spot with cheap elevated Italian comfort food, including thin crust pies. Also have a wine list. For the price it is definitely worth a trip, but I wouldn't choose it as one of my favorite place to go. I got the pasta and meatballs. The pasta was great quality, but there wasn't a lot of it. On a neighbor's suggestion we stooped in at Babbo's last evening around 5:00 PM and was immediately seated. We were a bit surprised how empty the restaurant was, On the server's suggestion we ordered a bottle of red wine and split an order of Bruschetta, both the wine and appetizer were solid suggestions. We spilt the Depietro salad, and each ordered the Bolognese pasta dish. Everything was delicious! The service was attentive, and we could not have been more pleased.
