I really like Mellow Mushroom if we're chatting chain restaurants. The quality of pizza is super good and fresh, I've always found it flavorful and satisfying. This specific visit, i came here with my family to celebrate my brothers birthday. We ordered a variety of salads and pizzas, as well as the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was super tasty, garlic forward and good with the bread. The pizza was hot, crust was soft yet crunchy, and lots of cheese. The salads were fresh and delicious, solid ranch dressing. I've been wanting to try one of the locations, as the menu looks amazing. I'm so glad I was able to! I went with a friend, and we both bought a personal size pizza. He had a taco one, and I had a super cheesy one (can't remember the name). I know we were both super happy with our orders. The environment is inviting and a bit eccentric. It wasn't super loud at all, which is nice. Shouting to converse isn't my forte haha. Our server was nice and courteous, and everything went as it should. We were happy we chose pizza! Wonderful service, wonderful pizza! Ordered online ahead of time so we could grocery shop and then pick up lunch to go. It was a gloomy rainy morning so we just wanted to chill at home. Ordering online was easy enough: * half merry prankster * half buffalo chicken * peanut butter cookie * sweet iced tea 1. The ice tea was SO good. Not too sweet and tasted great! The straw did break and our drive home was about 20 min so we couldn't really drink it until we got home but no biggie. 2. The merry prankster is probably my favorite pizza now. every bite was so flavorful with salty and creamy aioli and the crust.... I love a good crust and it was perfection to me. Not sure if it was just because I was starved and smelled it for 20 min before I got to eat lol 3. Peanut butter cookie was fresh out of the oven and it was so soft and fabulous! We really enjoy this location as being further into the county it's never too busy and we are always able to get a seat right away! Service is pretty consistent to what Ive come to expect with the Mellow franchise and the servers tends to either be extremely friendly and maybe too attentive, or super slammed and still somehow coming by to give updates on food and to top drinks. We like to come hungry and plan on ordering 2 pizzas (since we can never decide on just one) and usually an appetizer. The crust is hand tossed and fluffy! Our favorite pizza is the Great White, but I really haven't tried any of their pizzas and thought it wasn't awesome. Recently been enjoying their new pizza rolls but make sure you get that pesto dip ( wow is it GOOD!) I love the variety even if the options get a little overwhelming and noticed they just added a smash burger to the menu so that's great that they continue to add options! Helps to take a peek at the menu before going in and like I said, bring your appetite! We did have one hiccup when our server charged our card for 100% tip on top of the order total, but luckily we caught that and upon calling to let them know about the charge the front house manager made sure to reverse that and correct the amount. We love getting carryout from this location. It's always piping hot and the same quality you get when dining in. If you haven't tried their pretzel bites with beer dip - highly recommend. They're served with a very good beer cheese dip-your choice either spicy or mild. Also tried the cheese bread which was pretty good, I wish it were more of a garlic cheese bread, but the marinara dipping sauce served alongside provided plenty of flavor. Also tried the 10" cheese pizza. It was pretty good, but as you can see from my photo, don't be shocked by the fluffy crust which can be huge in a few spots. I love mellow mushroom! Cool atmosphere with a psychedelic concept! The food is top notch in my opinion. Wings are great with multiple choices in flavors. The pizzas are amazing! Great variety with flavor combos that I wouldn't think of on my own and I can say all of them are wonderful! Happy hour is one of my favorites in the area as well as their lunch specials that are available M-F 11am-2pm. You cannot order the lunch specials online as each location may have different lunch special options, but you get really great choices in the lunch special, and it's a large amount of food. It's perfect! I am so thankful this opened up in my area and have never had a poor experience. Service has been great every time as well! The service is very friendly and quick to serve, but the speed of food service is not quick when they are busy, so expect a wait. The ambiance is loud and tight, making it hard to have a decent conversation. Our visit had some obnoxious kids next to us which probably made it all worse. Now, let's talk about the food! My BBQ chicken pizza was pretty good, flirting with 5stars but honestly, was pretty light on the toppings overall except for cheese so I couldn't bring myself to give 5 stars. I had heard about Mellow Mushroom and a while back we finally got a few of them in the area. There's one just a few miles from our house, which is very convenient! We first went there a while ago and really liked it. The food and cocktails were good and the service wasn't necessarily exceptional, but it was acceptable. We were in a back room and the acoustics weren't great. It got really loud back there. We went again last night and had a great server and where we were seated wasn't crazy loud, but it was a little louder than I would like. Neither of us ended up getting pizza. We had pizza the first time we went and it was good. I guess we just weren't in the mood for it last night. I had a burger and my husband had a calzone. The menu is great and offers a lot of different options. They also have a vegan menu if you're into that. We decided we really need to go there more often! read more

i think mellow mushroom is the best pizza place in the STL area. it is worth it to note that MM is not really in STL city proper, so you won't get the change to enjoy this place unless you go a little out of your way the pizza scene in STL is just alright, but i'm happy to have found this spot. Went in to build a pizza and grab a drink with a girlfriend this past weekend. The bartenders were amazing. My pina colada was delicious. Fun atmosphere in Chesterfield. Great for dinner or drinks with friends plus it's family friendly. Outside in the patio they had an artist singing and playing guitar- nice atmosphere! Service was a bit slow due to staffing shortage but the rest of the world is like that so that wasn't a big deal. Terrible gluten free celiac experience. Avoid. After many discussions with server about celiac, and they need to avoid gluten and cross contamination, I was served a pizza with a very thick and bubbly crust that did not look gluten-free. I asked her if this was the gluten-free crust and she said it was. Thankfully, a manager overheard the situation and corrected that it was not a gluten-free. . I was sent home with an appropriate gluten-free pizza however I still became extremely ill afterwards with significant stomach/G.I. symptoms. This place was not for a sensitive celiac or someone prone to gluten cross contamination. If you're still reading my family that is not gluten-free said the wings were terrible. The gluten pizza was OK for them. Lastly, we went on Sunday. The bar was covered in fruit flies. The floor of the bar area high top tables was peppered in napkins and straws wrappers. The staffs poured alcohol into a kid cup that makes me assume the staff are drinking during their shift. The menus were sticky/dirty. When we ate none of this we were not asked what was wrong etc and we're still charged full price for a. Appetizer I complained about and nothing was done period. Next is the potato pizza. We love this pie with Yukon gold potatoes lots cheese sour cream and spicy ranch. They had cut the potatoes into hunks rather than flat which actually works on the pizza. No Yukon gold... again a business cheating out but having horrible service and mediocre food. My mother loves their burgers... or I should say loved when she and my daughter were served practically raw meat. The waiter took the food and then brought out raw burgers again. I normally don't leave bad reviews, especially for service staff, as I know it isn't an easy job. However, we walked in on a Thursday night and the restaurant was relatively empty. There wasn't anyone at the host station or any server to be found so we waited for 3-5 minutes, which didn't initially bother me because I understand that it can be busy. We were seated and the host was very nice. We waited for a server for about 10 minutes before I started trying to get the attention of a server because we hadn't even gotten drinks yet. The few servers I did see were standing off in a circle laughing (I would've had no problem with this if we had also been given any sort of service.) They seemed to be trying to ignore us. After 20 minutes of waiting without even drinks we just decided to leave. On the way out the servers watched us leave and the host at the station was turned around on her phone. I really hate to leave a review like this and almost never judge a server for being slow or seeming stressed because I used to work in the food industry, but to be completely intentionally ignored was a little frustrating. read more

This is a fun chain with a playful tongue in cheek menu. What I love about the psychedelic 70s artful interior- and the large vegetarian and vegan options is also how creative the menu names are! The drinks are all fun- a wide selection of beer and some wine with tasty cocktails as well! Atmosphere was lively (recommend sitting in the bar area if out with friends) and the staff was super attentive. Needed to feed 6 of us and ordered 2 16 inch...did not need that much! I'm telling you folks, if you go with any of the loaded pizza's, two slices is all you will need...so unless you plan to take some home, make sure your eyes are not bigger than your stomach.
