    12" Chicago Deep Dish Pizza

Great service. Very nice fellow behind the counter. The buffalo chicken pizza was not great. But also, what do you expect? This slice of pepperoni was awesome. And the Chicago was good. Would return.

Stopped here again. Never a complaint. Hot and fresh all the time. You do get a lot of food for your money. Miss the arcade they use to have & jukebox.

This place really went downhill used to be really really good. Got a sandwich today. It barely had anything on it. Other than lettuce soggy brown lettuce asked for mayo no mayo on it. Very dry. Won't be coming here anymore.

I'm very snobbish about my pizza so I tend to be tough on pizza places. I happened to be out and about today and I needed a quick bite for lunch so I stopped in at Boardwalk Pizza. I was greeted nicely by the young lady working the counter as I looked over the pizza. I decided on a plain slice (which was very large) and a slice of their Chicago style. Now, full-disclosure, I don't generally like Chicago-style pizza, but this was fantastic. The large plain slice tasted very good, but I would have liked a little more sauce and I wish it was a little crispier. Overall, I was a big fan. The Chicago-style has some big flavor and a great crispiness and wasn't a thick as a normal Chicago-style pie...and I liked that. I would happily come back. The plain NY-style was good, but might be better if I got a whole pie.

    New pizza place for me!

I stopped here for lunch today and was kind of disappointed. So many Yelp reviews showed this amazing looking deep dish pizza, but apparently they only make it on certain days. I went with a slice of white, which was ok. So many pizzerias in NJ, one really needs to stand out to make an impression, and this one just didn't for me today.

What's left of a huge delicious Sicilian Plain 18" Pie

Honestly, this might be the best pizza in NJ. Definitely the best in Essex County. The food is constantly great and the portions are generous. My only complaint is that they removed their arcade during Covid and never brought it back.

Gluten-Free pizza description from their website

*2.5 stars* I was looking forward to ordering from here due to all the great reviews, but I was let down tonight :( I ordered a deep dish pie, a gluten free pie, and a side of fries with cheese sauce on the side for take out. When I got home I realized the deep dish leaked all over my car seat, and when I looked at the pie it was COVERED in oil. Not a good first impression. The pie was very soggy (a little sogginess is to be expected from a deep dish pie, I get that) but this was extra soggy and didn't have much flavor. My mom had the gluten free pie and said it was very disappointing, the crust was cracker thin and crumbling. The way they describe the pizza on the website gave us high hopes but no luck. The fries were packaged in styrofoam so they were soggy and wet by the time I got home. Customer service was nice so that's one plus. Maybe I just ordered wrong.. the regular pies look so good. Not sure if I'd return but if I do I would try a regular pie.

My second time ordering here and I am upset because my pizza yet again is black and burnt, I order this personal pan pizza to go I should have checked it before leaving the place . I don't think I will order here again .

Ended up trying Boardwalk Pizza with a dinner Groupon, then ordering two of their gigantic pies for a lunch social event. Both experiences--great. Nice pizza. Had the Boom Boom chicken for dinner. Different. Delicious. A work of saucy art! Ordered two of their giant boardwalk pies for delivery for a lunch event for 16. (I made my own salad.). Delivered on time, and everyone oohed over biggest pizza ever. And tasty. I am a new fan.

ACHILLES would be proud! awesome greek salad (radishes were a nice touch as was the house made lemon vinaigrette)

Don't order and then leave to wander around outside like I did because 6 minutes means 6 minutes. Good salty mozz, chewy thin crust. And he's right, you need to eat it hot. The rest of the pizza was not so great cold and reheated, those thin slices are a joy of the moment thing not to be revisited. But on the upside, I view the thin slices as really like eating half a standard regular slice, so go for as many as you can manage. But honestly, I came here for 1 thing, and 1 thing only: Chicken Parm. The Chicken Parm was a nice portion, cooked perfectly, tasty sauce and the cheese melted perfectly. Its appearance was picturesque, and I did take a picture of it. Now my complaint, the piece of chicken was really flat, thin and incredibly dense/tough. My perfect chicken in a Parm is thicker and delicate, almost airy. This was not, and for $28, I will not be back! Then $5 for a fountain drink and $5 for a plain simple salad globbed with Caesar dressing, VERY POSSIBLY store bought, sad! The side of pasta is in my attached picture but really not worth mentioning as it was that forgettable! So I'm still in search for my 'go to' chicken parm place for that area! Suggestions appreciated!!!

From the moment we walked in, the environment felt welcoming and the place smelled amazing. I'm a slice guy, so I went straight to check those out. After some debating--and a recommendation from a local--I went with a Buffalo chicken slice and a square vodka slice. Both were excellent. My kids ordered plain ziti and ravioli, and they were more than happy with their meals. My wife got a salad, which she really enjoyed as well. To top it off, the young lady who took our order was very professional and friendly, which always makes a difference. Overall, 10/10 experience. It's Saucy, Cheesy, Crispy, Crunchy Deliciousness and you really can't go wrong with any of these solid Slices. One of my favorites is their version of a Grandma which offers perfectly thin and crunchy texture with tons of fresh Mozzarella topped with basil strips and deliciously seasoned San Marzanno Sauce. ***3 1/2 stars***…read more Maybe it lost something in transit or I didn't get the right pie, but I wasn't blown away by this place. I've had Tony D's on my list for a while, knowing it had a solid reputation amongst the North Jersey Italians (and what better demo to have it from?). Yesterday was a perfect opportunity to order/grab some pizza and bring it over to my top-tier chum in nearby Montclair for lunch. I didn't do a ton of recon so maybe there was a more obvious/modern method to ordering, but from what I could tell, this place was pretty old school and I just picked up the phone and called over - honestly can't remember the last time I did that, but it brought a nice whiff of nostalgia for me after years of ordering on apps. Didn't realize that Tony D's is literally right around the corner from my BFF Cloverleaf, so the location is pretty convenient if you're in the area. The parking in Caldwell can be pretty annoying, and even though I'm sure I could have rolled the dice I paid a little less than a dollar to park up the street further into a residential neighborhood. Given that Tony D's is exclusively delivery/pickup joint, I think they should pay for the spots right in front as a courtesy to their customers coming in and out; maybe they do and I missed it but if not... Anyway. The guy behind the counter was VERY nice/friendly, and even though I was a few minutes early based on the estimated ETA off my phone call, the pizza literally had just come out of the oven and was ready to rock. From that vantage point, top-notch service. The specific pie that seemed to be their go-to was the Drunken Grandma, which is usually one of my favorites (vodka sauce on pizza should be much more prevalent in my opinion) but I wasn't crazy about the chunks of tomato on it. In hindsight, would have been easy to pick off or even to request that they not be included to begin with, so that would be my recommendation based on this experience. I opted for a square plain pie, especially since I knew that a few young pups would likely be sampling the wares; seemed like an overall safe bet. Optics-wise, I thought it looked very good, and I don't regret going square here. The crust for me was probably the best part, and I made sure to strategically grab all of the corner pieces once we started eating. Nice crisp to it for sure. The overall taste of the pie just wasn't my thing. I wasn't crazy about the sauce (maybe another argument for the vodka sauce, right?) and the cheese was just okay. Tasted to me more like generic by the slice pizza, which isn't my preference. My top-tier chum liked it more than I did, so definitely could just be an issue with palate preference here but this might have suffered from inflated expectations. I'd give them another shot if a similar circumstance presented itself, but I'd go with the pie it's known for - there's a reason the Drunken Grandma is front and center in almost every review. Learn from me.

I actually wondered if she might be the owner because she was so welcoming. The restaurant itself has a vibrant, comfortable atmosphere with great ambience. I was dining by myself, so I ordered a medium thin-crust pepperoni pizza. Before the pizza came out, they brought me some bread, which was delicious and definitely got me ready for the meal. Then the pizza arrived. After my first bite, I immediately understood why I had heard so many good things about this place. The thin crust was perfectly crispy and crunchy, and the pizza had excellent flavor. I ended up finishing the entire pizza! I probably could have ordered another one, but I had to remind myself that I'm trying to watch my diet. The price was also very reasonable. My entire meal was under $20 since I just had water, and the quality of the food was excellent for the price. This was easily one of the best thin-crust pizzas I've ever had. We also ordered the chicken vodka Parm pie which was very good. The chicken was very crispy and the pizza was still delicious the next day when we had the leftovers.
