Went here in a recommendation from a friend. The food is above average but nothing to get too excited about. The ambiance is lacking and the parking stinks. I stopped here with a large group and we were so well taken care of. The service was efficient and friendly and the food.....wow! Their homemade pasta is incredible. I recommend the vodka sauce and chicken parm. And get a cannoli for dessert! Loved our time here!! read more

If I could give this place a zero, I/ we would. We had an AWFUL experience. We phoned in a takeout order and waited at the restaurant for over 40 minutes. Staff/ Service was not responsive when asked about our order numerous times while waiting. After waiting 40 mins, we had to leave and didn't have more time to wait. The staff was unfriendly and nonresponsive when asking questions about my takeout order. While waiting for the order, we eventually had to go; I was told I could have it "undercooked" ( as they told me) and started to box up. I asked for my money back, and they wanted to give me a store credit. I'm never planning on returning. It ruined our night when we tried to stop in to get an order. They were rude, and the place was not even busy, which they made us still wait. Save yourself and try somewhere else. I admit it, I was driving to my cousins house in Boonton and was going to order pizza from another place in town that wasn't answering their phone. I called Roma without checking the menu to order a pie. I appreciate the helpfulness and patience of whomever answered the phone. I got a grandmas pie and it was delicious. The thickness of the crust baked to perfection with an appropriate amount of sauce and cheese. The pizzeria was clean, the prices were good and they gave me a card so that I would be able to get a free pie after buying 10 I think. I always appreciate a place that rewards loyalty. I guess I could have done a better job of moving the pizza not to move the cheese so please don't judge by my picture, it tasted better than it looks. read more

Small local pizzeria that used to be my go-to when I worked at a business in Main Street in Boonton. I hadn't been in many years and saw some neighbors getting delivery and thought we'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by how bug and robust the menu was, and absolutely loved the fact that you can order online and delivery is only a $2 fee! We opted to pickup and while it was pretty smooth they almost forgot to give us one of the sides we ordered. Whoops. The food was pretty good. - Mini Rice Balls - a nice addition to our meal. They were tasty and added a new flavor to all of the dough and cheese we would normally have. -Grandma Pie - it was ok, but it wasn't my favorite. Sorry. My family has been coming to eat here for over 40 years. This is the best pizza we have ever tasted, hands down. When I first moved into town, I tried all 4 pizzerias (on Main St.) to find my favorite. For the record, Pasquale's won, and I'm not dethroning them, but then and now I hold Roma as a very close #2. I decided, several years removed from the initial experiment, to see if my opinion had changed, so I took out from The Competition for once. I went with a half meat and half pepper/artichoke pie just to get some contrast. The good: My goodness, what a lot of meat! They Do Not Skimp. If you get an entire meat lover's pie, you will get an entire meal's worth of meat on top of an entire pizza. The toppings here are definitely more generous than Pasquale's and definitely more numerous in terms of choices. There are at least 30 different topping options, plus combos. They delivered (with whichever platform they partner with) ahead of the promised time, hot and fresh. The not as good: I still prefer Pasquale for the thinner pie overall. Roma has more cheese, slightly thicker crust, slightly more generic flavor. The result: If this were the only place in town, I would be well off. It says something that I found somewhere even better and Roma still earns the full 5 stars. I won't make fun of you if you rank this #1 instead. read more

Very clean and friendly place. Has two sections. One section for quick eat in and takeout and the restaurant side with table service. Although, the quick eat section also had table service. Nice selection of slices of different pies. I got a plain slice and a Nonna slice. The slices were served on a metal circular tray. No complaints with the plan slice. The Nonna slice has slices of mozzarella on it and marinara sauce on top with some basil. The slice was good but could been a little warmer. It was actually cold under the mozzarella slices. This caused a one star deduction. Otherwise the slice tasted very good. They have a large selection of bottled beverages. I will be back after I try the remaining pizza places in the area. I do recommend them, as well. They do charge a credit card surcharge, I'm sure because of the pandemic. read more

How did we not find this place earlier! My husband and I have lived in Booten for three years now, and have tried every pizza place around, and could never agree on the perfect pizza place. My husband likes thicker pies I like more traditional and thinner pies and so after trying Pasquales, Vinnies, Reservoir, top of the park, and any other place we could try we decided to try the one place that had the lowest ratings in town and it is by far our favorite go to weekly Pizza Night, place, Roma's! not only have we tried their pies, but we've tried their pasta, garlic, knots and appetizers too, and have loved absolutely everything we've eaten there. They deliver, and are open on nights where most pizza places in town are closed! I would highly suggest giving it a try, it's a classic for us! read more

It had been quite a few years since I was at Roma Pizza-in fact it was probably a solid 4 years. I was in Boonton today for lunch and couldn't decide what I wanted so I stooped in here for a slice. I don't think the place has changed since my last time here, and that includes the tastiness of the pizza. Sadly, as good as the pizza tastes, the size of the slices hasn't changed either-still pretty small for a single slice and the crust is also quite thin. The sauce they use here is quite nice-not too sweet and not too savory. The cheese was a touch thin, and the flavor was enhanced nicely with just a touch of garlic and Italian seasoning. Again, the crust was a touch thin-I prefer a thin crust, but it still needs to be sturdy enough to keep the slice from flopping all over the place. The young guy behind the counter and the woman also helping on the pizza side were very friendly and very nice. Overall, a damn good slice-good enough to bring me back. read more

We've had their pizza a bunch and find it pretty good. This time, we ordered dinner for takeout, and it was not great. Stuffed mushrooms had zero taste and were mushy. They tasted like water, very weird. My tortellini Alfredo was swimming in a really bland sauce with no cheese flavor. In fact, it had no flavor at all and I had to add tons of salt, parmesan cheese and bread crumbs(!) to make it something to kind of enjoy. Husband's chicken parmesan was "meh". I read the reviews for this place today and was looking forward to a great pizza but am so disappointed! The best way I can describe it is that it was pizza flavored bread. VERY stingy on the sauce and cheese. I usually give a second chance to places I am iffy about but I won't be doing that here. I'm thinking of doctoring this pizza up with my own sauce and cheese to make it worth eating. I also ordered spinach/strawberry salad. Chicken Roma. Ordered a tray of this chicken with artichokes and roasted red peppers for my Christmas day buffet. The chicken was so white it looked boiled, had to look hard for the artichokes and roasted red peppers.....it all swam in a broth that was similar to water. Overpriced & unsafe. I picked up a few slices from this place today with my girlfriend and was very dissatisfied with the quality of the pizza especially for the price, got four slices and two sodas it costed just under $14. Also, they are COVID-19 social distancing was poor at best. Half of the staff was wearing their masks properly and there was no barrier between the woman at the register & the costumer. read more

Roma is such a cute, low-key place. They offer everything from slices, to pies, to personal size, to classic Italian dishes. Service was pretty swift and the food was consistently good across the board. I went with a house salad and a personal mushroom and fried eggplant pizza. The crust was exactly to my liking - on the thinner side, but not crispy thin. The cheese and sauce were both pleasantly fresh and flavorful. Pros: Pizza is tasty. Delivery is 45 min max & it still comes w cheese melted & still hot. Food is overall good, except my complaints below. Cons: They could improve the garlic knots, they need more olive oil & garlic, & sometimes they are a bit stale. One time, I ordered while I was 15 min away & the man could not understand me on the phone. He said it would be ready in 20 min. I got there, expected my pizza to be ready in 5 min, & the guy hadn't even started it! So I sat there for 15 min. I was starving so I had to order garlic knots just to hold me back from eating my hand. another thing, they give you cardboard coupons every time you order a large pie & after you're 15th you get a free pizza. But I lose those cardboard coupons every time. They have on file who I am when I call and where I live, they should just do a loyalty card where they punch it so you only have to hold onto 1 card instead of 15 little pieces of cardboard ...just some pointers to work on. Classic red sauce joint. Stopped by here one evening when we didn't feel like cooking and sat in the dining room they have attached to the pizzeria, it was nicely set up. I tried their eggplant rollatini, which for the first time at a place is taking a risk - eggplant done wrong can be gnarly. Thankfully the eggplant here is tender and delicious, I didn't even need a knife the entire dinner. As for the red sauce itself, they do a good job - not too sweet, good acidity. I got to try a slice of their personal pie as well, nice crispy thin crust. I'll have to try one of their full-size ones. Definitely worth your time and money if you're in town, we'll be back again. read more

PROS: This place was like any ordinary pizzeria, however, it also had a restaurant section to it! The food was great as there was a lot to choose from and the prices were amazing. The young lady behind the counter was nice and even allowed me to pay for everything after I ate. CONS: Since the place is located on the street there isn't that much parking. A lot of the workers were laying around which wasn't welcoming and the bathroom was cramped and beat up. There was also hardly any room in the pizza area (not the restaurant area) for you to sit at. OVERALL: I think this place is really nice and affordable. The food is plentiful and tastes great! There isn't any real problem with this place, so I do recommend it. read more
