Today was our third visit to Boathouse. Initially, we decided to try it because we realized that, despite the name "Boathouse," it actually serves Asian food. On our first visit, we had Beef Chowfun & Iron Pot Rice. Both were so delicious that we returned, had the same dishes plus Iron Pot Salmon, which was a little disappointing because we were expecting crispy rice similar to the Iron Pot Rice, though there was no rice. The salmon was actually pretty good. For today's meal, Iron Pot Rice wasn't available. We had Beef Chowfun, which was good again, and Korean Short Ribs, Garlic Spare Ribs and Wok Tossed Green Beans. All were excellent! My picky Chinese mother raved about the food! The restaurant is clean & modern, and the staff is friendly & efficient. We'll be back ... and we haven't even tried the namesake (sushi boat) Japanese food yet! ;) read more

This is my go-to spot whenever I visit Graton Resort & Casino. They offer both Chinese cuisine and sushi, and the ingredients are always incredibly fresh. My friend even mentioned that the lobster in the lobster lo mein didn't taste fishy at all, and I had to explain that it's because they use fresh lobster. She was genuinely surprised! I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here. The prices can be a little high, but that's pretty expected for a casino restaurant lol. The service is also consistently excellent--everyone is friendly, attentive, and always seems to be in a great mood. Went to the graton for a work outing and ended up trying Boathouse Asian Eatery. My first impression is that the restaurant is very nicely decorated and the ambiance was very inviting. I ordered two various sushi rolls in which both were tasty but I think it could have been a bit more fresh in terms of the fish used. I felt that the fish was a bit mushy for my liking. I would be interested in trying the noodles or fried rice next time. Overall 3/5 stars. read more

Had late dinner here after playing some slots.. the restaurant is beautiful! Very open and inviting. Service was awesome! Melinda was attentive and always made sure our sodas was topped off and that we needed anything. We had the exotic salmon aburi sushi.. that was seared salmon nigiri.. very tasty. I had the shrimp tempura temaki .. I sub the tempura for ebi shrimp and added avocado and cucumber .. it was both delicious and refreshing. I would definitely order that again. Also had the tacolicious .. we asked for salmon instead of spicy tuna and omg that was crunchy goodness! A must! For our meal we shared the garlic noodles, sweet n sour spareribs and ginger garlic crab .. the noodles was good, the spareribs was ok. But the ginger crab was my favorite! We left no crumbs on that plate lol It is a bit on the pricey side but it's understandable because it's a high end sushi place inside a casino. I would come again for more sushi for sure. read more

I ate at Boathouse Asian Eatery with my family this weekend. The ambiance is nice & bright. I'd say their food was delicious too! Not wave worthy but definitely asian-approved. I had a party of 4 and we ordered the following: Tacolicious (2 Orders), Hidden dragon, Wok tossed green beans, Korean short ribs, Shaken beef, Sweet and sour spare ribs, and Beef chow fun. Of all the items, I really enjoyed the shaken beef. Super tender! Everything else was pretty good and our waiter was outstanding, I believe his name is Miles. A great addition to the Graton Casino and the variety of restaurants in the food court area. I think most people would agree that they typically don't go to a casino for an ultimate dining experience; However, Boathouse Asian Eatery did not disappoint. While killing time waiting for the Mother-in-Law to gamble we decided to have some Sushi at this spot. We are going to Japan for the first time in October and have been trying various Japanese experiences before our trip. For Sushi, we decided on a couple of pieces of torched tuna, Ebi, Tamago and torched Wagyu. I have had Wagyu at a few different restaurants but never really got what all the fuss was about. We really liked the torched Tuna. We tried Sashimi at a Sushi place in Paso a few months ago but weren't really into it. So I guess we need our Sushi at least cooked a little bit. People say you can judge a Sushi place by it's Tamago, which is why we got it here. Honestly, I can't really say much about it as this was my first time trying Tamago. It was egg. That's about all I can say. The Wagyu here though was very good. Probably because it is supposed to be A5 grade. I finally got the experience that people say, "it melts in your mouth." Service here was pretty good. I ordered the Lychee Martini but it was WAY too sweet for my taste. Total girly drink. One cool thing about this place is they have a little robot that goes around the restaurant dropping off dishes. I've seen these kinds of things at restaurants in Japan but this was the first time I saw one here. It even had a screen with a little cat face on it. Very cute. I've been coming here since they opened over ten years ago and it's sad how horrific it is now. The flavor profile of all their dishes have changed entirely - everything is overly sweet. The portion sizes are absolutely abysmal. We order 6 Chinese dishes and two sushi items on Mother's Day. I used to come here for the salted fish fried rice and it was so salty it was inedible. The catfish was 28 bucks for about 5oz of fish, a complete joke. The tobiko nigiri was exactly half the size of any standard nigiri. We waited an hour and ten minutes for one of the worst meals we've ever had in a restaurant. It was a terrible experience and a complete waste of 300 bucks. Do not eat here. read more

after a few hours of gambling, we decided to eat at boathouse asian eatery. the menu was extensive and so much to choose from. they had a ton of sushi options, chinese dishes, a page full of drink specialties, etc. order consisted of: jalapeño poppers $13 chicken chow fun $20 walnut prawns $21 butter fried wings $19 shaken beef $29 chocolate espresso martini $15 pineapple mojito $14 my pineapple mojito was delicious that i had to order another. my friends espresso martini was amazing to her as well. food was pretty darn good. nothing was greasy but a little on the salty side. i would eat here again ... this place sure does best bistro 101. i do have to add service was not great. the older blond haired lady was not the nicest. it truly felt like was over her day and wanted to get get the hell out of there. oh and your food is sent out via robot but place expects 20% or more tip. get the heck out of here. read more

Started off with a great server Maricela who took time to make us feel comfortable and not rushed 1hr before closing. She explained the menu and helped us find what was best for my wife and I. So good that we ended up ordering everything twice. Knew from the start when the miso soup and edamame was good that the oysters and sashimi wouldn't disappoint, and lemme tell you. The hand rolls are my absolute favorite so I had to get some as a main entrée for myself! We also had ordered miso soup, BBQ oysters and a sushi roll but I didn't get any pictures of that! Service could have been better in my opinion. After we finished a few dishes they were almost piling up on our table and no one would clear them. They were focusing on empty tables, but in my opinion the people who are there are more important than empty tables, as dishes keep coming about and there's no room for them because we have dirty dishes that need to be cleared off! My husband and I have been meaning to check this place out for the longest time. I think one of the reasons we haven't yet is neither of us care for seafood. Thankfully we found plenty on the menu that suited us. We ordered the pork potstickers, wok tossed green beans with a white garlic sauce, combination chow mein (sans the shrimp), and the sweet and sour spare ribs (apparently this was just added to the menu). The potstickers came out first, and quickly. They were smallish but the filling was very tasty, they were pan fried nicely, and the dipping sauce was super good. Next came the rest of our food. The green beans were cooked well, not mushy but not overly crunchy, and the sauce was good however it was a bit bland. I would have liked a lot more garlic. The chow mein was good, it came with beef and chicken which were both tender and flavorful. My husband said he thought the noodles were a bit bland and I agree, though just slightly. The sweet and sour sauce on the spare ribs was really delicious- not your typical dyed red sweet and sour you get in typical Chinese restaurants. For the ribs themselves, some were nice and meaty while others were fatty and had a lot of gristle/cartilage which I feel is to be expected with pork ribs. On the whole though, I really enjoyed that dish. But be sure to ask for extra napkins if you get this dish, there's really no elegant way to eat them, you just have to get messy and use your hands. Our server was Elijah, he was very knowledgeable and polite, and made some great recommendations. He even went as far as to go back and ask the chef a question for us. They did have a robot delivering some of the dishes (our chow mein came to the table that way) but I didn't feel neglected in any kind of way. I just got violently ill after eating at the Boathouse. We had the sashimi plate and a dragon roll, tempura came late, and raw. I could tell something was off in the roll, it had been sitting somewhere long enough to get stale. The oil the tempura was fried in also needed a change. Well, it's all been returned now. Celebrated my mom's bday for the 4th of July, and what a great choice. Good food, I had no issues. Authentic flavors. It was delicious. Food surprisingly came fast too. It was great. Not a great experience. We often visit Rohnert Park for business. Made a reservation for 10, then immediately called back to advise it might only be 5-8. Reservation was secured with a credit card, but no other terms or conditions were provided. When we arrived, we informed the hostess we would be 4-5 and asked for a smaller table downstairs. She refused and insisted we stay at the large table upstairs. The menu highlights multiple crab items, but none of them are actually crab. They are fake "krab" (Pollock and food dye), and nowhere on the menu is this disclosed. No asterisk, no clarification. Misleading, at best. Thirty minutes into our meal, the manager approached and announced he would have to charge us $50 per empty seat (six total). I stated that I was not informed of that policy, and made the reservations on speakerphone, which my colleagues attested to. I also further advised that we had called and also informed the hostess upon arrival that we would be a much smaller party of 4-5. The hostess insisted we were sat at the table for 10 when we preferred a smaller table and asked for one. Instead of addressing this reasonably, the manger proceeded to stand over us and then crouch next to the table, lecturing us for five minutes--during a business meeting. He scolded, admonished, and warned us about "next time." (There will not be a next time.) He acted as though we should be grateful that he "decided not to charge us" in a restaurant that wasn't even full on a Saturday night. If my card had been charged for so-called "no shows," it would have been disputed and charged back immediately. The biggest mistake, however, was this: he chose to threaten and harass me in front of business colleagues, in the middle of our meeting. That crossed the line. I bit my tongue, but it took everything not to walk out on the spot. And yes, we noticed--had our group been men, I suspect the treatment would have been very different. After finally leaving us alone, the focus of our meeting was ruined and shifted to discussing the manager's behavior. We left feeling harassed, embarrassed, and unimpressed--both with the food (fake krab) and with the service. Our waiter was fine, even though he got a drink order wrong; he corrected it immediately. Never again. Congratulations on alienating a professional group of 60 people who meet monthly in Rohnert Park. They will hear about this experience, especially the colleague who recommended your restaurant. read more
