Stopped in for a quick weekday lunch. No more hustle and bustle like the last time we were here. We knew the routine so we went to the left as we entered the doors, walked over to their kiosk, and placed our order. There was plenty of seating so we sat down and waited for our meal. We ordered: Karaage - a family member had mentioned that this place makes his favorite karage in town so we had to see for ourselves. They were HOT, fresh and delicious. Shumai - 3-piece shumai also came steaming hot. Filling had nice flavor Soup dumpling - 3-piece soup dumplings were just okay. Not much broth inside. I would not order this next time. Teriyaki chicken/beef rice plate - surprisingly tasty and generous portion. Came with a tiny cup of mac salad. Added a fried egg They no longer offer rice donburi bowls. They seem to make everything fresh after you place your order, which makes a positive difference. Employees are kind and the interior was clean and orderly. I noticed one employee with long hair was re-doing her ponytail bun by the front register and that did not look hygienic to me. Luckily, she was not our server. If you're wanting a quick bite that isn't traditional fast food, this is a nice alternative. Plenty of parking in the Safeway lot, shared with other businesses. read more

JAN2026 We got delivery for an easy dinner and found this place on Yelp to try. Everything seemed to be packaged well tho the karaage weren't really crispy once it got to us in the end. Nothing an air fryer could fix though in our case. We got a number of different things to try out. Bulgogi beef donburi, karaage chicken, veggie tofu don, and both the black sesame cheesecake and the green tea cheesecake. We liked both the beef donburi and the tofu don. The mix of flavors and different ingredients worked well for the dishes. The karaage was decent, and would probably save that for in person if we stopped by. The cheesecakes were decent. Much tinier than I thought they would be but the flavors were pretty good. I liked the sesame more than the green tea which didn't pop as much for me. A good option for what we had. I ordered the Orange Chicken Bowl to go, and everything about it was perfect! The portion was very generous and filling, and all the flavors worked so well together. Tried this spot recently. Atmosphere was light and bright, if not a tad loud, but it looked clean. Staffe were friendly and helpful. Ordering is done through a terminal. Menu is pretty straight forward though more detailed descriptions would be helpful. We tried teriyaki chicken and a veggie tofu rice dish. Our plates came out about five minutes apart which was strange - the teriyaki first - the tofu and veggies later. The chicken was warm but not hot. Veggies were steaming. Very decent. I've only had one thing here, and that's the Black Garlic Ramen. And I have to say that it was very doable. I can't say it was the best ramen I ever had, but I would come back. So that says something because I have tried many ramen places in town and most of them are very meh. (Had no desire to go there again, even though I love ramen.) I was definitely apprehensive about this place because the menu is "Asian". The thing is Asia is a big place. (A whole continent!) It's true that a lot of it is soy-based, rice based, noodle-based. But each country has their unique cuisine that is very different. And so, when a place has both soup dumpling (chinese) and bulgogi bowl (Korean), and ramen (the Japanese version), you get confused. Which is it? And if it's all of it... then will it be good? I can say that it was quite decent, and also priced reasonably. I will say that the ramen was not very big. I ate the whole thing, no left overs. But I'd rather have that then an expensive mediocre ramen with leftovers. I also appreciate that it's a nice clean setting. That counts for a lot. As I get older I get pickier about stuff like that. I'm less into sitting in hole-in-the-walls. I also like the order at the kiosk and they bring it to you system. I came here solo last time, and it makes it feel more okay if you're dining single. Anyhow, all-in-all, I will come back. If anything, I must come back and try the black sesame cheesecake. My wife and I took a weekend trip to Santa Rosa and it was colder than we expected so our first night we decided on some ramen to help warm us up. We checked out the Sizzling House that was a quick 5-minute drive from the Flamingo Hotel where we were staying. Thursday evening, there was no wait. We walked right in there was a lot of seating. For a ramen place, the Sizzling House had a good variety of other options, including rice bowls and dumplings! You have to order from a kiosk, which was a little time-consuming if you have questions about what comes with the item. You have to read through all the options to select if you want to make a custom request. Our food was prepared quick and everything was hot an fresh. We opted for the Orange Chicken plate and the basic Tonkatsu Ramen. Not the best of either that we have ever had, but still good and well worth the price. We also had an order of the soup dumplings and shumai, again very good. They do serve Pepsi products here as well. Overall, not bad. If we lived in the area we would probably visit again. read more

I saw that this place opened via social media and checked it out last week. We went on Friday at around 5:30 pm and there were only a few people there. You can order via a screen or with an employee. I ordered using the screen because I wanted to see the ingredients and there aren't any physical menus. Food is reasonably priced which was a nice surprise. On to the food... We got the black garlic ramen, edamame, soup dumplings and Mushroom Australia Wagyu rice dish. Everything was delicious. Broth was flavorful and the portions were generous. The only strange thing is that I ordered the food to eat at the restaurant yet half of our dishes were served in to go containers and the rest in normal dishes. Not sure why that happened. The food was just alright overall nothing really stood out as a "wow" experience. We ordered sizzling plate steak and wagyu-beef, and both were okay in taste. The siomai also lacked flavor and felt a bit bland. Service wise, the staff at the cashier (a tall, skinny guy) was polite, but when we asked for recommendations on the best items on the sizzling plate, he suggested the Louisiana Chicken ($15.99) and Salmon ($17.99). The felt a bit off since the Steak ($18.99) and Wagyu-Beef ($20.99) are higher priced items and usually expected to be the more premium choices on the menu. It would help if staff were better trained on recommending dishes based on quality or signature items, not just lower priced options. Overall the experience was average. Hopefully the restaurant can improve both flavor consistency and staff training going forward. read more

Came here for dinner the other night. I love the inside vibe. Clean, modern and bright Japanese vibes. You order at the counter with the machine and there's someone there to help or answer questions. They bring your food to your table when it's ready. They bowls options looked great but it was raining so I decided to get the tonkatsu ramen. My husband got the curry chicken bowl and we got a side of French fries. The ramen was good. Nothing mind blowing but it hit the spot. I did feel that the cha su was on the thinner side. So excited to have this place in Santa Rosa! This is my 3rd time eating from here since they opened. The restaurant is very clean and lots of seating. Workers are all very nice and helpful. My favorite thing to get here is the Gyudon Donburi. It's a huge bowl for such a good price. It comes with all the fixings like kimchi and seaweed salad as well as a fried egg on top! The meat is sooo yummy and very flavorful. The Bulgogi Donburi is also just as good. The kaarage was also surprisingly good! Crunchy but juicy. And don't miss out on those soup dumplings! Writing this one in real time! This is our first time here, first impressions it is super nice and clean. All computer ordering which makes sense. The menu is good and diverse, love all the small plate options! So that's what we went with. The prices are very very fair which is impressive these days. We got 2 miso soups, chicken karaage appetizer, takoyaki, 5 soup dumplings and a soda with tip and tax it was $37. The food was fast and delicious! The winner was the chicken karaage!!! Wouldn't say it's the best ramen I've ever had but it is pretty good within the north Bay Area. The meat is super thin, and the most negative point (picture included). However, the amount of the other items in the ramen is a good amount to make up for it. The flavor of the soup is strong and tasty, although some may not like how oily it is. Soup dumpling was good, not sure if it's made in house but it had a nice flavor and texture. The takoyaki I wish had a side of mayo, as it doesn't have enough sauce for my liking. I do think it's better to be too little sauce vs too much. Texture was great and super fresh. Wish it had a little more octopus inside. The staff are all very nice. I asked for a takeout container. The guy looked behind me for a moment and said yes. Turns out they have all the takeout containers near the front door. He still helped bring them to the table. Talk about flavor! You definitely should give this place a try! Good Japanese food is hard to find in Santa Rosa but this spot does an excellent job! The food here is fresh! We decided to do a late night take out and decided to give this spot a go. Well it did not disappoint. We got the beef bulgogi and the steak sizzling plate. Steak plate was packed in veggies/rice and steak. It is A LOT. Can definitely be shared between 2 and it's a good price for the amount of food you get. My partner got the beef bulgogi, he is not a fan of kimchi but he loved it on this plate! I also tried it and it was sooooo good and refreshing! Everything mixed tasted great. Now the gyoza was 6 although only 5 are pictured here because we ate 1, sorry! Service was quick we called for pickup and they had it ready at the time they told us to come. The tonkatsu ramen is something that a home cook would make following a recipe, and not a great recipe. You can tell there is no pork fat in there, it needs chili oil, and should always be offered with schichimi togarashi pepper. The truffle fries had no taste of truffle, at all, zero. Just fries covered in mayo. The fried chicken was okay for what it was. Thus place is not authentic, but if you are looking for something you can make at home but don't want to, you found it. Two stars because it wasn't terrible. No truffle seasoning and no depth to the ramen, but they were edible. read more

The staff here is super nice and accommodating. I really enjoyed my steak sizzle plate and miso soup. The portion and ratio of rice to meat was very nice and the meat came out just slightly red and cooked up nicely on the sizzle plate. Sizzling House is the very definition of mediocre. It's one step above cafeteria food or Panda Express, but barely. I got the teriyaki salmon for my wife and the orange chicken for myself. The salmon was extremely dry. There was no care taken to cook it properly. The orange chicken was tasty but they went way too heavy on the vinegar. The rice wasn't bad. The macaroni salad was watery. I think they didn't properly drain the elbow noodles before putting them in the sauce, so the noodles retained the water that they were cooked in. Just kind of sloppy overall. The one thing this place has going for it is that it's inexpensive. Originally, I was planning on stopping by T4 and Poké next door since I've been there a bunch of times, but then I saw this place looked pretty new and the review averages were good. This is the old Pieology location on Mendocino in the same center where Safeway is located. They've done a nice job with interior design. Light wood with clean contemporary designs on the walls and overhead. This wood also acts as a nice sound buffer for the open high ceilings. Fun lighting too. The staff is awesome! Friendly, helpful, courteous, and patient with all of my questions LOL. Pleasantly surprised with the good quality of our food especially for a fast food experience. Price point is great and persons are huge! Husband had the Louisiana Chicken plate which he is over the moon with huge size and flavors. I had the Rice Donburri Teriyaki Chicken which is also a healthy portion of food that gave me leftovers and I removed the egg and kimchi.
