We went there on a busy Saturday night. We were told there was a 30 minute wait. It turned out to be about 10 minutes. We ordered the steamed shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were cooked properly with Old Bay and served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. The salmon salad was delicious. I had the chili rellanos cooked in egg roll wrappers. My fish and chips seemed like a basic frozen fish with batter that was deep fried. My wife's chicken fingers were very good. If you can sit on the patio, you can get a nice river view and watch the kayak boaters go by, or the fly fishermen, or the scuba divers. The Boathouse is a great place to experience for anyone visiting Salida. We opted to wait 30 minutes for a riverside table. Pretty balcony seating next to the Arkansas river. There is patio heating that is adequate for a Fall evening chill. Food was excellent and features upscale burgers, fish tacos, jalapeño poppers and various upscale Tex-Mex style food in interesting combinations of flavors. The truffle fries are something you need to try! French fries fried in truffle oil, covered with Parmesan cheese, parsley and served with a garlic type dipping sauce! Ingredients were fresh and meals were handmade, not from a frozen bag. The bar offered a multitude of exciting drinks, and the restaurant in whole, worked as a tight working machine.
