We stopped here for dinner on our way home from vacation at the beach. We are a family of seven which sometimes can be hard to handle. They were great here! They found us a nice spot in the back. Our server was wonderful. She checked on us a lot which is nice. Big families can't always remember what they need so her checking more than others would was appreciated. Our food was great. Had a mix of pancakes, chicken, burger and fries. Prices on the kids menu were really good too I felt. We will have to remember our local Bob Evans more often. I will say, because of the low scoring I started to not visit this location, but I am glad I did. I always like to form my own opinions. Several reviewers mentioned the staff was slow and they didn't get good service. I want to say that I came on a standard busy Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded but it was steady. I was greeted and seated quickly. My server came In a reasonable amount of time. I did wait a brief moment to get my food hit the food was cooked to perfection, nice and hot! Seasoned well. I'm not sure what happened to Bob Evans over the years, but its take-out quality has fallen so far downhill. If it's not stale dinner rolls (the rolls are ALWAYS stale for take-out), then the food is too salty, or it looks and tastes like it's been sitting in a warmer all day. Sometimes they don't give you items that you ordered at all. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, but the food is terrible. However, if you sit down and eat in the restaurant, the food is *slightly* better. I don't know if they give the dregs to the take-out orders or what, but it's not worth it. I'd recommend eating elsewhere if you have the choice. read more

I went here with a group of 9 people and the service was very slow. There were not many other tables either. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. My husband and I had a great late breakfast/ lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I'm giving five stars, bc I have absolutely no complaints. The sweet tea was perfect & fresh, the coffee was good, and hot. The banana-berry pancakes were yummy, and the eggs, bacon and hash browns were cooked perfectly. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it came out hot and looking EXACTLY like the picture on the menu. Fresh bun, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion and quality beef patty. Our server Jess was friendly & attentive, and the entire restaurant (including the bathroom) was extremely clean. Stopped in on our way to Deep Creek Lake. While it took a while for the food to show up it was all very well cooked. Roger was great and he really made the experience much more enjoyable. The visit didn't start well. After taking our name they passed us up twice. My wife complained and the mistake was corrected. The manager, server and everyone worked hard to accommodate us. I am surprised to see even 2 stars for this location. I ordered the chicken salad fruit plate, found a feather in my fruit and showed it to the waiter. The server said he would tell the manager. We came here on a Saturday evening. Honestly we should have known not to expect much when we saw the restaurant was pretty empty. But we thought we would give it a try. Up until tonight, I had good experiences at this location. I can no longer say that. This evening, I ordered a family meal with two sides, one being green beans with ham and the other the summer herb corn. When my meal was being put into the bag provided, I asked why I didn't receive a family-size portion of corn. The woman behind the counter assured me, in violation of the common sense a five-year old would be expected to possess, that I was indeed receiving a family-size portion of corn. I pointed out the obvious discrepancy in container size, only to be told yet again that, truly, I was being given a family-sized portion of corn. I've been to this restaurant about three times in the past month, and each time the service has degraded. When I came today my steak was pink, and undercooked. My mash potatoes were cold, they couldn't provide me with boxes, my drink tasted water down. Bob Evans was unremarkable, but I shall remark. (I imagined your eyes rolling!) On the plus side, they served a complimentary variety of tasty bread. Also on the plus side, their candied bacon appetizer was worth the temporary cholesterol spike. On the "meh" side, their biscuits and gravy dinner tasted better than it looked - because the gravy looked a little like vomit. Don't go here if it's past 7:30 pm. They close at 9 and it seemed like we were a hassle to begin with because we came at 7:30. The older server that started our table was mad because she got sat and showed it. Then rushed us while taking our order and got our order wrong because of it. She got "cut" so then gave our table and her mess to another server. Food was mediocre but because I had SERVED people myself being a bartender all day I didn't say anything. Great place to eat if you are staying at one of the hotels near by. The hours are very accomodating. We LOVE going to Bob Evans on Dual Highway in Hagerstown MD especially on Saturday and Sunday morning. I go there other time as well. Great for the pick 2 lunch for $5.99. We "Always" request our favorite friendly waiter "Roger" on the weekends. ROGER always takes great care of us. He makes sure to place our order just the way we like it and he knows just how we like everything. The food is yummy and the price is very affordable. Over all 90% of the staff is very friendly. Sometimes you will get that one who just doesn't belong in the restaurant business but don't let that keep you from coming back. They always make my bacon extra crispy "just the way I like it". My only complaint is that I wish they would add chipped beef gravy to the menu. It would be great over those YUMMY biscuits that they make fresh daily. The prices are very reasonable and the sweet tea is delicious. Expect to wait a bit on Sunday morning if you get there a bit late but it is worth the wait. Called in to get a Chicken Cobb salad. Talked to 3 people before they would take my order. Half way through, I was told they didn't have french dressing because they got rid of it. I asked again that they no longer had french dressing, and she confirmed they no longer have french. I then canceled my order. We came here on our way to Pittsburgh from Ocean City and had been driving for some time so we were all pretty hungry. Unfortunately I can't recall what I ordered. I think it was grilled chicken with fries and broccoli. I do remember it being very filling and satisfying. Also, some of the bread, which had the raisins in it was a little sweet so I didn't even have to order dessert. However, what really made the dining experience was when one of the workers, I believe she was a manager, came over to chat with us. She seemed so sincere and down to earth and not at all as if she was just trying to gain more business. This by no means is a fancy restaurant with gourmet selections. However, that fact served advantageous because we truly got the best of what cheap eats can offer, which is food that is good enough to fill you up yet won't suck your wallet dry, and service that is sincere and unpretentious. Great service but the food was less than mediocre. We paid $30 for breakfast for two; A Rise & Shine, an Everything breakfast bowl, two coffees, an orange juice, a side of hash browns. That's ridiculous especially with portion sizes fit for a kid, not an adult. My home fries were brown and dry, they used to be so yummy with a bit of onion and definitely freshly cooked. We visited on a Sunday about 5pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. We were immediately seated, and our server, John, was very attentive with his service. John must have visited our table about 6-7 throughout our stay. It was very cold and windy out, se we felt like having some comfort food. So two cups of vegetable beef soup hit the spot. Then we had grilled chicken breasts with yummy mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. The chicken was so very tender, cooked perfectly. We liked the fresh blueberry bread, with real blueberries. The only reason I am reviewing this Bob Evans is because it was so clean, friendly, and pleasant to spent time in. We were seated right away, and our server was friendly and courteous. He refilled our coffee twice, and offered a third refill. The food was exactly how we ordered and what we ordered, and everything tasted fresh and clean. Nothing was drowning if fat/grease. The bathrooms were clean, and parking was ample.
